Starting Line to Checkered Flag…

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7

in the gift giving that we forget about the wonderous gift given to all of us on that very first Christmas. Isaiah 9:6 states it beautifully, “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

Now here is something to ponder…. .The scripture says “to us” twice with second time stating a son is given. Given by whom and why? (which means, “God with us”). This wonderful gift of acceptance, forgiveness, comfort is there for all of us. Jesus has the power to forgive us of our sins, once and for all and forever. Matthew 28:18, “Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.”

It is the gift that keeps on giving, now and forever. Acts 16:31,… “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved…”

It’s Christmas again!!! This year has flown by. I realized last week that this is my 69th Christmas… hard to believe.

With all the challenges we have had this year, Christmas comes as a welcome relief. The families, the friends, the music and, of course the gifts, Christmas is a time to reflect and renew.

So often we can get caught up God wants us and loves us. He would do anything to have us back in a full relationship with Him. Ever since Adam and Eve, God has had a plan to have his children return to Him. God came down in the form of a little baby, so you and I can be loved by our Father forever. Matthew 1:23 “…the virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call Him Immanuel” Make this the best Christmas ever! Celebrate it with your closest Friend and Savior, Jesus!
