OFFSEASON FUN
by Kurt Lucas
With the season coming to a close a group of FTR members decided to load up and head to one Georgia’s best towns, Canton. Canton is a small town about an hour north of Atlanta that features an bundance of cool shops, restaurants and best of all mountainbike trails.

We rented an AirBnB in the foothills and had a great 30th birthday party for A Open Enduro Champion Clark Myers. The next two days were filled with mountainbikes and exploring the great town of Canton, Georgia. Luckily for us we had our very own professional photographer, Mariah Lacy, with us to capture all the action.
“It was nice to change it up and get away from the dirtbikes for a weekend, after so many months of racing it is easy to get a little burnt out” says Seth Robbins, Vet A - photo by Mariah Lacy
“I picked up my eMTB a few months ago and this thing is awesome, I am able to enjoy more great trails in a shorter amount of time. It is a bit heavier than a regular mountainbike so I am way more comfortable on it which has helped my training for the FTR races. My friends all hate me now though because I let them ride my bike and then they all had to go out and buy some. Sorry guys!” says Nick Doerr, Open A - photo by Mariah Lacy. “Obviously we all share this great bond of riding dirtbikes, so it is even cooler that we can all enjoy another hobby together. Mountainbikes are great because we can all talk while we ride, stop have a conversation and talk about the stuff we just rode. With racing you are so locked in it is almost hard to enjoy it while you are actually doing it. With mountainbikes it is fun whether you are riding good or bad” says Clark Myers, A Open - photo by Mariah Lacy
“I love our mountainbike trips because it gives me, and the other ladies, a chance to mix it up with the boys. Usually I can’t relate to their post-race stories but with mountainbiking I am able to talk smack and share the experience. Plus it gives us a great excuse to go on some out-of-state trips” says Lacey Morgan, mom of the group - photo by Mariah Lacy
