We are in the middle of our first summer of freedom!!! No masks, no distancing, almost normal!!!
If you’re like me, you are trying to make up for lost time. Riding, boating, watersports, movies, etc., getting as much in as we can. With all that, there is still the daily grind pressures, concerns and “hick ups” that are in our lives.
With the next season a month away, have you allowed yourself time to rest?
That time awayfrom everyone and everything to unplug, reflect, refresh and renew? Jesus saw the need for us to do just that. in Matthew 11:2830, the author quoted Him,
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
In Mark 6:31-32 Jesus said, “Come off by yourselves; let’s take a break and get a little rest. For there was constant coming and going. They didn’t even have time to eat. So they got in the boat and went off to a remote place by themselves.
We all need that time to “settle” Even King David, 3000 years ago, wrote in Psalm 37:7, Quiet down before God, be prayerful before him. Take the time to get away. Let God take care of daily hassles and pressures. Philippians 4:6-7 Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful whathappens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.
Bottom line, allow yourself that much needed rest. Jesus has you covered!!
John 16:33 33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will havetrouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
“The Good Race” joy service continues next season, every Saturday night from 7:30 to 7:45 pm.
We meet at the CMA tent.
