The opening reception will be held at Ganzo (Via dei Macci, 85r) on May 30, 2018 starting at 6 pm. Luca Piccini was born and raised in Florence. Referring to himself as “the painter of lost stories,” Mr. Piccini f inds his inspiration from many different areas, such as human rights and environmental conservation. This exhibition tells several “Lost Stories.” While not exclusively so, the works you will see tonight predominantly follow women lost to history. We will explore the juxtaposition of geishas and prostitutes. The rise of women as key f igures in the silent f ilm era during the early 20thcentury. Luca gives voice to the women upon whom society and history imposed silence.

32 Biography biografia
Luca Piccini (1957) lives and works in Florence. His works are stories inspired by characters (real or imagined), situations that are part of his cultural background; popular stories or stories fished from oblivion. Sourced also from oblivion are his materials: objects, documents used to compose his assemblage. Piccini favors no one medium; rather, his eclectic style manifests itself through many different media. His diversity of technique is essential in the development of his pictorial works. Drawing from popular culture, his work is recognizable – a perfect collage of creativity and thought.
