1+1=3 Immagini realizzate dagli studenti del corso Landscape and Architectural Photography Prof. Marco Gualtieri From September 22 to October 14, the Florentine community can experience different points of view of the city with shots never seen before. The images recount the relationship between spaces and human presence, in its infinite circumstances. The photos for each project, a sort of collage, will tell different stories about humans and architectural environments, show the urban and daily use of private and public spaces, and give an unexpected and unusual glimpse of Florence as told from the perspective of international students. From the framing of a square that produces bursts of light and color captured throughout the day to the various perspectives seen from open windows or the geometric details that provide images with intense and strongly contrasted movement, the exhibition brings together views from the city assembled into a single, colorful unicum.

Untitled For the exhibition my goal was to show the way humans interact with architecture, in this case stairs. I wanted to convey this by making every photo move closer to the subject. That way your perspective on the interaction changes with each passing photo.

Untitled I wanted the main theme of these pieces to almost contradict themselves. While a large focus was put on the people in the photo, it was important to emphasize their isolation and insignificant size when compared to the architecture and landscape that surrounded them. Each piece was created to evoke this idea, while simultaneously giving off a unique mood to add variety and interest.

Graffiti Many think of Florence as a place of pristine renaissance art and beauty. While that is true, lurking in the back allies are other works of art. “Graffitiexplores the hidden side of Florence and showcases the chaotic and expressive nature of modern street art.

Residenc y of Florence The images are from different residency areas that I and my friends live in various locations around Florence, from outside of the city centre to across the Arno River. The images of the living space of each residency come in pairs: one as a window and the individual looking outside to see what is in their area and the other is an interesting architectural element within that space and the person living inside the architecture, showing the human element within a living space.

Way Home “You are so used to walk by these streets that when you are walking back home you don’t pay attention to the light, the things that have changed during the day. It all belongs. It all remains the same” - Person that has been living for a year in Florence.
