OC Elder Law is a firm like no other. Led by Attorneys Marty Burbank and Joshua Ramirez, OC Elder Law serves its clients and community on a daily basis.

OC Elder Law serves our Veteran community by helping them receive benefits. Veterans that served our country during a period of war are potentially eligible to receive cash every month for the long-term care needs. OC Elder Law helps Veterans and their family members navigate the complexity of the VA system to obtain valuable benefits that our military personnel deserves. To maintain involved in the Veteran community, Burbank, a Navy Veteran, serves on the Orange County Veterans Advisory Council.

OC Elder Law also serves our senior community by assisting them with their long-term care planning. Aging can be a difficult process with lots of choices, costs, and complexity. OC Elder Law guides families through this process. In many cases, seniors can be eligible for assistance in paying for their skilled nursing costs.

Far from other trust and estate attorneys who utilize a one-size-fits-all intake form, Burbank and Ramirez flat out refuse to treat each client exactly the same. On the contrary, they are determined to make sure that their clients feel instead, like a one-of-a-kind client.

When a loved one passes away, OC Elder Law is there to comfort the family. They walk families through the post-death process in an efficient yet caring manner. Attorney Erlinda Vasquez leads this department of the firm. “I love providing comfort to the family and ensuring that their loved one’s legacy is preserved,” says Vasquez. Whether an individual passed away with a complex plan or no plan at all, Vasquez serves all families with the care and compassion they need through a difficult time in their lives.

Given the fact that both Ramirez and Burbank are incredibly devoted to their faith - Burbank counts seminary training in his past, while Ramirez has served as a youth pastor- they are well known for helping clients who are similarly minded to allocate assets in conjunction with their faith. “We feel that if your faith has been important to you throughout your life, ignoring that part of your life when planning for incapacity, death, and wealth distribution doesn’t make any sense. We take a faith-based perspective to our clients’ planning, when appropriate, which keeps their faith at the center of their plan and passes on a truly great legacy to their family,” says Ramirez.

In addition to serving the community with their legal knowledge, Burbank and Ramirez serve the community in many other ways. Ramirez serves on the board of directors of Crittenton Services, a Fullerton-based nonprofit organization that helps children and families. Burbank and Ramirez are both active in Rotary Club, where Burbank will serve as the President for 2017-2018. OC Elder Law is a great supporter of the North Orange County Chamber of Commerce, its mission, and its members.

Burbank and Ramirez not only talk about giving back, they spend their limited time actually doing so. “Our firm serves at various local charities, such as packing food boxes for the Roosters annual food drive and packing supplies for needy children in Ecuador through the Giving Children Hope Foundation,” says Burbank.

As a result of their faith, giving back to others is nearly as much a part of what OC Elder Law does, as the trust and estate planning, they provide for elders and their families. For example, Burbank and his wife Seon Chun-Burbank pledged to send an entire Anaheim classroom of 27 kindergarteners to college. This pledge has understandably garnered national media attention. “At least 20% of our firm’s time is spent giving back,” says Burbank.

Given the invaluable service that OC Elder Law provides to our community and the determination its members have to giving back and helping others both locally and abroad, the North Orange County Chamber of Commerce is proud to have OC Elder Law a pillar of our community.
