A Step In the Right Direction
ith the Harley-Davidson 2018 line-up and new gear debuting, there is so much to talk about! But before we get carried away, let’s focus on just one thing. We will give you one Department to look for changes in, how’s that? Tina was so excited to share the changes in her Department that I knew I had to share it with you all! Harley-Davidson is taking Motorclothes to a whole new level once again to suit the needs of the rider and to satisfy the requests of the customers. You asked, and Harley-Davidson has listened! They wanted to make sure that everyone was represented in the clothing lines they create, so you will notice lots of changes reflected in the new collections. These major changes are caused by the desire to fit all types of fashions and riding styles. The first new collection is called the 1903 Collection. It is comprised of timeless pieces with an authentic, well-worn look. This is for the rider who is seeking something a little different with a distinct flair. With features like patches, studs, distressed fabric and new cuts, this line is sure to spark interest. If you want to walk into a room and start a conversation, many of the pieces in this line are going to be right in your wheelhouse! The second new collection is the Garage Collection. It is comprised of straight-forward style with no frills and a back-to-basics feel. This is perfect for the rider who wants to wear their H-D fashions anywhere and everywhere and always be fashion-forward. With clean lines, a nod to vintage H-D style and vivid, eye-catching graphics, this collection is always going to be fresh and current. The final new collection is the Genuine Collection. This is comprised of the classic Harley-Davidson styles that are tried and true, with just a slight new twist. This collection suits anyone, but is especially suited to the rider who loves the classic fit and look. With low-key fashions and cuts, with timeless style, this collection will always be in fashion. These three collections will make up the fashions that you find in the Motorclothes department going into the 2018 season. Everyone is represented in a new and yet familiar way.
Well, Sturgis has come and gone this year and it was an awesome time in the Black Hills, as always. Cindy and I arrived on Friday Morning and quickly unloaded and got the riding started. There was certainly a larger crowd this year compared to last year and Main Street in Sturgis was already packed full of bikes and biker on Friday, which is a bit unusual that early. Everything was already buzzing as the people were taking in all the sites. The weather this year was on the cooler side but, a light jacket or long sleeve shirt made for some great riding. We saw a number of our Missouri 3: Doc’s-A Step in the Right friends this year at several different locations throughout the week. I know a couple of the friends we saw had never been Direction Sturgis before and they were totally in awe of what the 14-15: BIKEFEST.....The Largest to entire event offers. It truly is impossible to try and convey Motorcycle Rally in the midwest to someone the magnitude of Sturgis. You have to go there and experience the event and all that it encompasses to 16: Cruisin’ Calender understand its attraction and why so many people are drawn 18: Crack Up’s back every year. I have to admit, Cindy and I are taken in by 22-23: Sturgis...Runs Deep In Our this event and also by the Black Hills and all that they are. Sturgis has become part of our lives and something we look Soul forward too every year. I have said this before but if you have 30-31: Around Town never been to the Sturgis Rally and you are a biker then you have to put this on the #1 spot on your bucket list. Just 346 34-35: Liviing Amongst The days from today until Sturgis 2018.

Another one of my favorite rallies is the Lake of the Ozark Bikefest. This rally has grown to be the largest motorcycle rally in the Midwest. The towns and businesses at the lake have opened their doors and hearts to us, the motorcycle community and offer a fantastic area with many great rides, restaurants, bars and shops to enjoy during the 5 days of Bikefest. There are many great hotels that are offering special rates to the biking community but I have to admit that The Lodge of the Four Seasons is my favorite. You can call them and mention promo code 300076 and they will give you a special rate. Rooms are filling up so I suggest you call now to book your reservation. This year will be the biggest and best Bikefest ever and you don’t want to miss out and not have a room. I have to give my friends at Tirebitters Peanut Bar a plug too. If you’re looking for a place to have a great time, get great food and awesome drinks, make sure that Tirebitters Peanut Bar is a place you stop often. I would like to thank the Bikefest committee for doing an amazing job making sure there are plenty of things to do and enjoy while you are at the rally. You can also join in the fun with the Passport Book which gives you the opportunity to visit many great venues at the lake and someone will win a New Harley-Davidson Motorcycle on Sunday when all the Passport Books are turned in and the rides completed. I hope to see all of you this year at Bikefest starting September 13th and running through September 17th. The season is not winding down and there are still many great events and rides going through October. So check our Crusin’ Calendar and keep up with us on our Facebook to know what’s going on and where it’s happening. As always my friends ride safe and see you on the road with Full Throttle Magazine. BIKEFEST.....The Larges I
f you’ve never been to the Lake of the Ozarks Bikefest, I am going to give you a long list of reasons to go this year. If you’ve already been, then you know why it’s grown to be the largest biking event in the Midwest, and I’m sure we will see you back this year for the 11th annual Lake of the Ozark’s Bikefest. Bikefest officially started 11 years ago when a few of the local restaurant and bar owners, and the Convention and Visitor Bureau got together and had a vision for a bike event. They wanted all the bikers out there to know they are always welcome at the Lake of the Ozarks, and how this area of Missouri has some of the best and most beautiful rides in the US. After a few meetings hashing out some important details and setting some dates, The Lake of the Ozark Bikefest was born.
Bikefest quickly grew into a massive biking event in the Midwest. People from all over the United States were coming. To give you a little example of how large Bikefest now is, they calculated there were around 50,000 motorcycles there last year. As Bikefest grew, it became a designated 501 c3 non for-profit event. They chose the Christian Motorcycle Association’s Lake of the Ozarks local chapter as their designated nonprofit charity. Fisher’s of Men is the local chapter’s name. The Fisher’s of Men local chapter help greatly to execute the passport program. The Passport Program is where 24 local establishments all participate to create a passport book and motorcycle raffle. You can purchase the passport book to be eligible for the motorcycle raffle drawing. The price of book is $20. Once you purchase your Passport, you then take it and visit all 24 establishments involved. Each establishment will stamp your book. After you get all 24 stamps you then take your book to the official passport booth, at The Lake of the Ozarks Harley-Davidson, which is maned by the Christian Motorcycle Association’s Fisher’s of Man workers. Now you have officially entered the raffle for a brand new Custom Dyna Wide Glide Harley-Davidson. The raffle drawing will take place Sunday. All the locations where you can purchase the passport book are located online at lakebikefest.com. Page 14

st Motorcycle Rally in the Midwest! The lake itself is 92 miles long. There is over 300+ bars and restaurants you can visit, over 50 live music and entertainment events, and two huge vendor villages. This event has become so large that the city shuts down the center lane on the Bagnell strip that Wednesday Bikefest starts, and they keep it shut down all the way till Sunday. The Bagnell strip is one of the main hang out location for the bikers. There are a lot of places to visit at the lake like I have stated. Sometimes it can get a little overwhelming and you just have no clue where to start. Ill help you get started. Head to Tirebiter’s Peanut Pub, this is One of Full Throttle’s favorite places at the lake. They are located at 4704 Jayhawk St, Osage Beach, MO 65065. At Tirebiter’s you will always feel welcome and be treated like family. The food is amazing and you can eat all the peanut’s your stomach can handle. Start your trip out with an ice-cold beverage and relax on their big outdoor patio. If you love to shop and you are looking for any new leather pieces for your biker wardrobe, make sure you check out Leatherman located on the Bagnell Dam strip. For those of you who are still on the fence about going to Bikefest; there is still time to book your room at the Lodge of the Four Season. They are offering specials rate for the Bikefrest Rally as well as covered and secured parking for your bikes. Don’t wait another moment. Call today! Bikefest as proven to be the LARGEST motorcycle rally the Midwest has ever seen. Each year has gotten bigger and better then the year prior. If you’ve never been, then we encourage you to enjoy the adventure. All of us at Full Throttle Magazine Midwest can’t wait for another great Bikefest this year. We proudly sponsor Bikefest. You need to mark your calendars now for September 13th through the 17th. You don’t want to miss out on this year’s 11th Annual Lake of the Ozarks Bikefest. www.FullThrottle-Magazine.com

ell, hey there Full Throttle Readers and Fans, it’s been awhile since we’ve spoke. I’ve been taking a back seat to the article writing lately and letting some of our other Full Throttle family members take the reigns. But, I thought I would pop in to say HELLO! If that’s alright with you? I know, pretty much every year, I chat about Sturgis. Whether it’s right before the Rally or right after or even both. This year there is no exception. It’s what I love. It’s where I can go to relax and let my blood pressure get down to a normal range. But, this year, we ALMOST DIDN’T GO……. “THE HORROR!’” “Exsqueeze me, wait…. WHAT?” I said, “ALMOST!” And of course as I am sitting here typing this, Bob is yelling out, “ONLY 350 MORE DAYS UNTIL STURGIS!” I had to giggle and telling what I was doing. To tell you the truth, we kept thinking. “Has it run it’s course with us?” “Do we need to do something different?” Bob was trying to convince me that maybe we should stay home and not go. I looked at him and told him to bit his tongue. So off we went. The excitement as we were rolling into town had us dancing in our seats. By the time we got there, we were all jacked up. And it wasn’t because we had any Mountain Dew. Our adrenaline was full speed ahead, as we couldn’t wait to get our week started. OK, so here’s the thing, what can I tell you that I haven’t already??? I’ve given you a history lesson and told you all about the glorious riding adventures. I’ve broken down the different zones and explained what zones were for what. I’ve talked about the wacky and weird spectacles. I’ve boasted about the awesome venders and amazing concerts. I’ve perused the gauntlet to find that perfect spot to park the bikes so we can people watch. What and how Bob and I experience the Rally could be completely different then you. What we like about it and the things that we do, you may not and vise versa. I can only give you our perspective (which is pretty amazing, if I do say so myself). Page 22

eep In Our Soul
Article By Cindy Blanton
Every time that I’ve tried to explain the Rally to someone who has never gone, it turns out to be quite challenging. Unless you’ve experienced something, at least similar, you will have a hard time comprehending. We’ve had people that we know come up to us and tell us, “Hey, I have a friend named……. and he’s going to Sturgis this year. Maybe you will run into them.” There is no comprehension of how many places there are to travel or how many people are up there. Now, on the complete flipside of that; Bob and I have invariably run into someone we know from back home. As crazy as it seems, it always happens. People have asked us why do we keep going back year after year. We always tell them the same thing, the riding and shopping and the energy…. yada….. yada…. yada. This year as we traveled to the Rally, like we always do, we had our sites set on just relaxing and having a great time. As we did all that, we discover something different. Not a different place or thing, but more like a feeling. We felt like we were going to visit family and old friends. From all the years of going, we’ve gotten to know those roads like the back of our hands. We know the streets, the lay of the land and where everything is. We have stayed at the same place for about 8 or 9 years now and the other guests are regulars there as well. They’ve turned into our Sturgis Family. We loved seeing them each year, catching up with on another and creating that common friendship that will last a lifetime. Along with our Sturgis Family, we continue cultivating friendships with the Jacobs Family and The Basher’s. The Black Hills carries a special kinship that draws us in and goes deep into our soul. Seeing familiar places and familiar faces is what takes us back there year after years. It’s a part of who we are. And I’m sure glad we went. As far as the Rally’s in the future, you will always here us say…..”Is it Sturgis yet?” www.FullThrottle-Magazine.com

Living Amongs
Welcome back Full Throttle readers and
riders! This weather has been nothing short of amazing and we all seem to be enjoying the fall like temperatures that should be 100% unbearably hot, with a good chance of humidity accompanied by spotty unpleasantness. So what a perfect time for me to have to skip town and head to the hottest place in the US for a dealer meeting! Yes, you read that sarcasm correctly. The good ole city that never sleeps, the city that is hotter than hades itself, sunny and sinful Las Vegas! This wild city in the desert always blows my mind, the fact that I’m severely A.D.D doesn’t help with all its crazy bells, whistles, abundance of party goers, a bar on every corner and general nonsense. This wouldn’t be my first go around in this town for a dealer meeting but the badge on the side of the tank would be a completely new experience for me. Now those of you that know me personally and have dealt business with me know that I enjoy all things two wheeled and motorsport but most know my heart and passion are with the Bar and Shield. I was about to step into a world I wasn’t very familiar with and a brand that was just outside my comfort zone. I was about to see how the other half of the legacy of American V-Twins lives, I was checking out the Indian Motorcycle Companies annual dealer meeting. Now Indians aren’t new to me as we have been selling them since 2013 and St. Charles Indian was the first such dealership in the greater metro area and Midwest to offer the line-up. But let’s back up a little bit to grasp the whole scope of things. Some time back in 2013 I was called into the owner’s office and asked a simple question, “What do you think about Indian making a come-back Marshall?” Well being the honest opinionated person I am that completely lacks a filter replied “Not sure I can put much stock in a company that’s failed multiple times over with zero success…”. At that moment the stranger in the room stood up and introduced himself as our newest rep….from Indian. Needless to say I shook his hand and introduced my very embarrassed self. We all had a good laugh and all was forgiven. Indian stormed onto the scene in 2013 with an air of confidence as they reentered the motorcycle industry. The classic lines of the line-up were eye catching and intriguing. They boasted a larger power plant than Harley and an interesting mono shock frame. All these attributes were very forward thinking for the V-Twin market and were met with some apprehension as some of our V-Twin owners can be set in there ways. At that time there was really only a few models to choose from and all the bikes had the same classic stylization. It was a stunning bike but would someone who rode a Street Glide or Road Glide find the same taste in these classic lines? At first sales were slow but momentum was slowly building! Fast forward to 2017 and the line-up is truly explosive and exciting with 16 models to choose from including the addition of the Scout to the lineup in 2014! This model has evolved so much in recent years with tons of exposure through the Hooligan Flat Track series as well as the wildly successful Factory Indian Flat

Track team who has taken more podiums this year than our Harley counter parts would like to admit! In fact they have won so many that they were just recently crowned the Manufactures Champions before the season is even over as there is no way for the Harley team to catch them in points. With all this excitement comes a new model to bare the Scout badge and the Scout Bobber wears it proudly with tons of attitude! With its low slung stance, nacelle head lamp and knobby tires, it for sure caught my eye and I can’t wait to get my hands on this sled when it hits the shop! Now, as I mentioned earlier, I find somewhat of a disconnect between the Harley and Indian brands. Someone who rides a Street Glide may not care for the swooping lines, freight train fairing, cover all front fender or overall classic styling of a, say a Chieftain. But someone who likes the lines of Road King may find some familiarities in the Springfield model. Me personally I don’t care much for the cover all fender and Indian has addressed this head on by now offering the new “Limited” models. These models now come with a 19” front wheel and a new open fender that really changes the lines and look of this bike! These fenders and wheels are also now offered as accessories to previous models. To be honest these are for sure some of the changes I was looking for to appeal those who like more standardized and true to date styling. To top it all off these new models get some fresh vibrant and aggressive paint that the lineup hadn’t seen before! No traditional black or white paint here. Now offered are abstract panel paint schemes and wild colors! To top everything off the Indian Motorcycle company has added a heavy hitter to the 2018 line up, a simply stunning bike, a machine for those who must have the best. The new Indian Roadmaster Elite! This bike has just about every option out of the accessory catalog on it, its emblem is embossed with 23K gold leaf on its tank and the paint itself brings back the true old school by incorporating crushed glass in the clear coat. This is an old technique used in the late 60’s and early 70’s and gives a sparkle to the paint that is hard to stop staring at. With only so many of the models being made you had best be getting to St. Charles Indian now to reserve yours today. This bike is now in contention with the Harley CVO models and I don’t think that’s at all a bad thing. For the first time in over 60, hell maybe 70 years we have Indian Motorcycles and Harley-Davidson motorcycles banging bars once again on the race track as well as on the sales floors across this great country. One would ask “If you are so loyal to Harley why get excited and encourage Indian to do well?” Because competition drives this industry! When Harley one ups Indian they have to fire back with something bigger and better, when Indian stands upon the top spot of that podium, you know damn well The Harley engineers in Milwaukie are working on the next step in development! Come on up and see some of these amazing machines that Indian has to offer and let me know what you think. Till then, thanks for stopping by and y’all enjoy the ride. www.FullThrottle-Magazine.com

Written By Zach White
How’s it going Full Throttle readers, Zach White here to give you the latest and greatest info from St. Charles Harley-Davidson. Hope you enjoy this article and looking forward to the 2018 model year and all the new things HarleyDavidson has brought us! The summer is coming to a end and wow did it go by fast. Fall weather is just around the corner and some of my favorite times to ride. We have the last two bike nights coming up the 1st and 3rd Thursday this month. They are going to be the biggest so don’t miss out. This month I’m going to talk about seminars that we have had and ones you might like to attend this winter. As much as I don’t want it to come, winter will be here before we know it and that means it will be seminar season. In the past we have done multiple seminars for all of our clients to get refreshed and learn something new that is out on the market for your motorcycle. Some of our prevous seminars talked about Performance to your motorcycle as we all want to get to fill the twist of the throttle. We have had them on lighting and with the technology improving more and more every year something new is always out. Some of the best refresher ones we have had talk about your brakes, tires and suspension all very importance maintence items for your motorcycle that should be checked and replaced as they wear. Also another important one for everyone is comfort. Comfort comes in so many different ways such as handlebars, seats, backrest and windshields to give you enjoyment even in the long miles ahead on your next adventure. Those are some regular ones that we have each year and will continue as they are alway improving and coming out with new product. We will also be having a new model year seminar to kick off the 2018 season so make sure to check out our facebook page or get on our mailing list so you know when that saturday is coming. With the new bikes and all the parts and accessories it will cover a lot of info you all don’t want to miss. This month also give myself a call or stop on in to see me and let us know if there is any seminars we haven’t done that you think will be educational or if any we haven’t done in a while that you think we should bring back. As always we will be having coffee and doughnut’s and your favorite the attenance prize’s. Thank you again for all that attend and looking forward to meeting new clients. Once you come to one you will be back for all. Come early for a seat as we have had over 100 people and a few rows deep of people standing in the back. As most of you are aware the 2018 model year is under way and that means so many new things from motorcycles to parts and accessories. I will focus next month just on that and everything that Harley-Davidson is offering this year as I got to see everything first hand at the 2018 dealer show. Thanks again for taking the time to read this and please come into St. Charles Harley-Davidson and ask for me, Zach White or give me a call @ 636-946-6487 and also by email, zach@stcharlesharleydavidson. com to set a consultation with me!
