FUNDATED Profile Fundated, is a Non-governmental organization (NGO) born in Guatemala in 1984. Since that date, it promotes processes and profesional services through projects and development programs focused on education, human rights, gendeer equality and strengthening of indigenous youth; in order to achieve their social participation. It's method of work is based on participatory processes at national and international level to achieve an empowerment of people and their communities. "Thinking local, acting global" is the principle on which bases our social work. PROJECTS PRESENTED IN THIS PARTIAL PORTFOLIO In the firsr edition of the portfolio 2,019, were presented scholarship projects exccuted by Fundated, thankful to support of Ingrid and Lars Hannell Foundation in the municipalities of San Martin Jilotepeque, Patzun, Patzicia and San Juan Comalapa. In this edition, contains the following information: · Colonia Carolingia; · Informática Amigos; · Clide: Becas estudiantiles; · Clide: Comedores infantiles; Aldea Hacienda María; Poaquil, Chimaltenango.
Scholarship at Yolanda de Salazar School (Colonia Carolingia, marginal รกrea in the municipality of Mixco, Guatemala) Purpose: Financially support children and youth with limit resources, who attend primary and basic levels achieving satisfactory the ending of the scholar cycle. Students live in one of the most violent areas of Guatemala City where the risks of alcohol, drug and crime are among the highest in the country. Method: monthly meetings with scholarship students and parents, training them on different themes that contributed to self-realization. Results and achievements: Ending and approval of primary and basic levels, contributing with one of the objectives of the United Nations, decreasing school dropout due to economic factors and granting women the opportunity of studies. Scholarships on Computing, Electronics and Crafts for people with disabilities through "Informatica Amigos" (zone 6 of Guatemala City) Purpose: Educated and training people with different abilities in technical occupations as computers, electronics and crafts with reciclyng materials, in order to achieve their incorporation into the guatemalan labor market without any discrimination. CLIDE Organization (Zacapa) Projects: a) Scholarships for Youth in middle school, high school and university; b) Children's Eaters Purpose: a) Scholarship Project: Economic support to youth of limited resourses that are studing the last three guatemalan academic levels. Together with the monthly support, CLIDE team teaches educational workshops. In recent years, teachers, accountants, soon Doctors and Social Workers have graduated. b) Children's Eaters: Delivery of meal times to students of very poor villages that present at the beggining of the year mild and chronic malnutrition rates. Mother's of scholarship children are the ones buy daily food and preparare it, so take it to the students. Coordinator: Alfonso Chavac
Scholarship in the Municipality of Poaquil, Chimaltenango Purpose: Support economically to Mayan kaqchikel men and women of limit resourses that study middle, Elementary and university levels. Poaquil is considerer the most poverty municipality of Chimaltenango and Guatemala due to its highest rates of povety, low health and lack of educational opportunities. Women are the most excluded gender to access to individual development in families and communities. Method: monthly meetings with students and parents, training them on diverse themes that contribute to the selfrealization. Results and achievements: Ending and approval of the school year of the scholarship students, increasing the rates of grades approval and decreasing illiteracy levels in the villages of the municipality.
