Walk the elevatedBoomslang walkway, enjoy lunch or tea, buy books and curios at the gift shop. 7 Groot Constantia Wine Estate is the oldest wine-producing farm in South Africa. Their uniqueVisitors Route Experience offers a self-guided tour through the heritage core, cellars and vineyards. The magnificent setting is combined with wine tasting and sales, chocolate and wine pairings, Manor House Museum, local arts gallery and two restaurants. 8 Boulders Beach is where you will get acquainted with the comical African Penguin, enjoy an ice cream on the rocks and buy African curios from the local vendors. This unique area of approximately 2 000 ha is a rich mosaic of natural, cultural and historical elements, and is regarded as a global biodiversity hotspot from Blaauwberg Hill to the coastline.It is also the site of the 1806 Battle of Blaauwberg, which was waged on the plains below Blaauwberg Hill. Bloubergstrand is internationally renowned for kitesurfing and SUP. 13 Lookout Hill Centre in Khayelitsha offers an easy climb along a boardwalk to the summit for a 360 degree view over Khayelitsha (the name is Xhosa for Our New Home) the Cape Flats and Table Mountain. There are cultural activities, a tourism office, the restaurant Malibongwe and an authentic market with crafts made by the people living in South Africa's second largest township. 14 Rondevlei is a delightful city reserve in Grassy Park. Best known for its hippos, the reserve also has grysbok and other antelope. A waterside trail includes six bird hides and two observation towers. Accommodation, guided walks, boat tours, the museum, education centre, aquarium and terrarium are on offer to visitors. 15 Gordon’s Bay and Clarence Drive Gordon’s Bay is a charming seaside village with white beaches, colourful restaurants and two harbours to visit. Enjoy an ice cream and take a stroll under Milkwood trees. From the village you can drive to Elgin Valley or drive along the most scenic road in the country: Clarence Drive weaving around the majestic Hottentots Holland Mountains. 16 Elgin Valley is a fusion of wine, nature and adventure activity just 45 minutes from the city. Nine wine estates, farm stalls and restaurants wait to delight your taste buds. The Green Mountain Trail is a four day slackpacking hike and is the best way to explore this region. The Hottentots Holland Nature Reserve offers adrenalin filled hikes like Suicide Gorge. For the best pies stop at Peregrine Farmstall - named after Elgin’s darting speedy peregrine falcons. 17 Kogelberg Nature Reserve is part of the Cape Floral Kingdom, a world UNESCO heritage site on Clarence Drive scenic route. A nature lover’s playground, activities include hiking, bird watching, rafting and tubing on the Palmiet River, 22km of MTB Trails, and whale-watching from the coastal sections. Accommodation is available via Cape Nature. 18 Rooi Els, Pringle Bay, Hangklip, Betty’s Bay and Kleinmond offer all the delights of coastal village living. Swim at the river mouth at Rooi Els and fish or explore the rocky paths above it. Walk for miles on the endless beach at Pringle Bay and visit the marine reserve and penguin colony at Stony Point in Betty’s Bay. Explore the forest paths and floral wonders at the Harold Porter Botanical Gardens and wander down Harbour Road in Kleinmond for art, curios, fresh air and seafood.

19 Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate is situated on the R43, 20km before Hermanus and is wheelchair, kid and pet-friendly. It is open 7 days a week until 8pm and offers wine pairings with chocolate, cheese or millionaires shortbread. Tastings can be done on the lagoon, in the cellar, on a vineyard safari, in one of the restaurants with lunch or as part of a wine blending experience. 20 Hermanus is the land-based whale-watching capital of the world. This tourist town has a multitude of restaurants, art galleries and hotels as well as a variety of beaches, cliff paths, walks and two harbours.

21 Gansbaai is a fishing village and winner of the World Responsible Tourism Award. Get educated on Great White sharks and the Marine Big 5 via shark-cage diving or an Eco Cruise with Marine Dynamics, explore an ancient milkwood forest at Platbos, drive through or hike in Flower Valley and explore the ancient caves and archaeological site at Klipgat.

22 Worcester was founded in the 1820’s and is the gateway to the famous Route 62. Enjoy the thrill of a safari in search of the Big 5 at Fairy Glen, marvel at the wonders of our indigenous succulent plants at the Karoo Desert National Botanical Gardens. Visit some of the 12 wine farms on the Worcester wine and olive route. En route to Worcester, visit the town of Paarl and explore the Brandy Route and wine estates. Hike or picnic in the Paarl Mountain Reserve and learn about the Afrikaans culture. 23 Nuy Valley is situated just beyond Worcester overlooked by the majestic Langberg mountains. This tranquil valley is home to wine estates, olive farms and spacious manor houses. Put the annual Nuy Valley Festival on your events calendar. 24 Ceres was named after the Roman goddess of agriculture and fertility and is known for it’s fruit and snow in winter. Accessed only via the Mitchells or Guido Passes, this area is ideal for hiking, MTB trails, and ice climbing during winter. We also recommend that you stop a while inWellington before driving on to Ceres. This is a pretty town known for its wine, brandy, grape production and stunning architecture. Visit the leather factory as you leave the town for the iconic Bain’s Kloof Pass, built in the 1850’s and now a well-known national monument. Stop and picnic at Tweede Tol on the Pass, hike or just enjoy the views before continuing to Ceres on the other side of the mountain. Steam locomotive enthusiasts should book a trip with the Ceres Rail Company. 25 Mamre Moravian Mission Station was established in 1808. Travel 300 years back in history by walking the free self-guidedheritage walk: start from Tori Oso Coffee Shop and visit the church, parsonageandwater mill.

26 Stellenbosch is a historic university town in the heart of the Winelands. Museums and Cape Dutch architecture dominate the town centre and the outlying areas are home to over 100 visitor-friendly wine estates. 27 Tygerberg Nature Reserve is in the northern suburbs of Cape Town and offers spectacular 360 degree views of the city. Enjoy the walking and running trails, have a picnic and visit the Environmental Education Centre. 28 Durbanville Drive around these picturesque hills and discover the 12 estates that make up the Durbanville Wine Route. Many have restaurants and other attractions like craft beer, coffee or MTB trails. Visit Hillcrest Quarry or Meerendal wine estate for open-air cinema shows, go olive tasting or enjoy a traditional night out at Die Boer restaurant and theatre.

32 Silwerstroomstrand is a Blue Flag Beach and offers picnic and barbeque areas and a caravan park with bungalows for longer stays.This is a family attraction with safe tidal pools. Open 7 days a week. This is an alcohol-free/no pets allowed area. 33 Route 27 Hub is the home of Roosterkoek, Moerkoffie and clothes with clever sayings. Also famous for biltong, locally made gifts and delicious refreshing ice cream - perfect to find the eternal summer! Open 7 days a week, pet-friendly and with parking for buses. Book an e-bike trip with them and explore the 16 Mile Beach. 34 !Khwa ttu is Fair Trade Tourism Certified and offers daily San guided tours on
