Growing up, my mum was the one in charge of decorating in our house, and I can remember being amazed by her ability (and patience) to accurately measure, cut and hang wallpaper. I may not have inherited her undoubted paper-hanging skills, but I’m sure my enthusiasm for pattern owes a great deal to the colourful designs that adorned the walls of my childhood home. So much so, that most of the rooms in my own house feature print and pattern, whether it’s wallpaper, such as the floral design I’m planning to use in my living room (page 162), vibrant fabric or even something as simple as my favourite Orla Kiely mugs. If you’re just as much of a pattern fanatic or simply love the idea of trying out the latest trend for bold prints, this month’s round-up of botanical, geometric and painterly designs (page 125) offers plenty to inspire your new decorating schemes. Elsewhere in this issue, our guide to planning your bathroom (page 89) will help you create your dream space, plus with spring finally in the air, there’s never been a better time to choose from the latest glazed doors (page 101) to open up your home to the garden – just in time for the warmer weather to come. Enjoy!

Decorating goes big and bold with the latest prints – choose your new style on page 125 Who wouldn’t want to unwind in this glamorous loft bathroom? See the results on page 76
