Diabetes and Astrology

Diabetes is one of the most prevalent diseases nowadays. The prevalence of diabetes is increasing throughout the world. Today, 3 percent to 12 percent of people in the world either suffer from diabetes or are likely to suffer from diabetes. In America, this disease has become the eighth leading cause of death and third leading cause of blindness. According to a survey report of the World Health Organization published in newspapers, India will become the diabetic capital of the world by 2025.

In today's modern lifestyle, more mental and brain related work has to be done than physical work. Excessive brain activity creates excessive pressure on the brain, as a result of which many types of hormones are not released from various glands in our body. Deficiency of these hormones further gives rise to diabetes.

In medical language, we can understand it in this way that when the availability of insulin in the pancreas of the body decreases, the level of glucose in the blood increases. This condition is called diabetes. Insulin is a hormone produced by the pancreas. This is the hormone that controls the amount of sugar in our body. The increased level of glucose starts damaging various organs of the body. There are three types of diabetes:

1. Type 1 Diabetes – In type 1 diabetes, the body does not produce insulin. About 1 in 10 of all diabetes cases are type 1. In this diabetes, the digestive system kills the beta cells produced in the pancreas, due to which cells are not formed and insulin is not produced in the body. This type of diabetes occurs in people below 40 years of age. The largest number of patients of this type are teenagers. Type 1 diabetes can be cured by following a healthy eating lifestyle. For this, if adequate exercise is done and insulin is taken, the patient can live a normal life.

Sifnificator Planet – Venus

2. Type 2 diabetes - In type 2 diabetes, insulin is produced in the body but it is not sufficient for the body. Approximately 90% of all cases of diabetes worldwide are of this type. This diabetes is effective in middle age and beyond. In this diabetes, very few cells are produced. Type 2 patients should eat healthy as well as be physically active to control diabetes. Type 2 diabetes is usually a progressive disease over time, it gradually gets worse and the patient eventually has to stop taking tablets. This brings you into the situation of taking insulin.

Sifnificator Planet – Jupiter and Moon

3. Type 3 Diabetes – Gestational Diabetes – This diabetes affects women during pregnancy. Some women have high levels of glucose in their blood during pregnancy and their body is not able to transport glucose to all the cells, resulting in increased glucose levels. Gestational diabetes can be completely diagnosed. Patients with this disease can control their diabetes with exercise and diet.

Significator Planets – Venus and Moon

Astrological Causes of Diabetes

The three planets Moon, Jupiter and Venus play an important role in causing diabetes. The reason for the role of the Moon is that the Moon works to control the impulses in the body, due to which hormones flow from the endocrine glands. In case of high mental pressure, hormones are not produced completely. In such a situation, the remedies of Moon planet can prove useful in controlling this disease. In the horoscope, if the Moon is in a strong state in the Trikona houses (6, 8, 12) or is weak and situated in the Kendra or Trikona, then it gives the possibility of diabetes.

Jupiter is the planet responsible for liver, obesity and blood pressure in the body. In the horoscope, if Jupiter is in a strong state in the sacral house or is weak and situated in the Kendra or Trikona, then it causes diabetes. Diabetes caused due to Jupiter in the horoscope can be cured by taking remedies and abstinence. Apart from this, Venus is the planet responsible for pancreas in the body and pancreas plays a major role in diabetes. Therefore, while analyzing diabetes from the horoscope, the position of Venus should also be considered according to Jupiter.

It is well known that Moon, Jupiter and Venus are the most auspicious planets among the three nine planets and according to the scriptures, when the auspicious planets are placed in a strong state in inauspicious houses then they become sinful. Similarly, when auspicious planets are situated in the Kendra or Trikona in a weak or afflicted state, they sacrifice their auspiciousness. Therefore, if

Dr. Arun Bansal

Moon and Jupiter etc. are exalted and situated in 6, 8, 12, then the chances of disease increase. If they are weak and sit in these houses then the chances are less. If these are placed weak in the Kendra or Trikona, then the chances of disease also increase. If in these places then are in own house or exalted position then the disease does not occur. If all the three planets Moon, Jupiter and Venus are well placed in the horoscope then the chances of a person getting diabetes become almost negligible. That is why to get control of this disease or to get control over this disease, taking remedies for these three planets proves beneficial.

Horoscope Analysis of Diabetes Patient

Horoscope-1: The person belongs to Libra ascendant and Taurus sign. This person is suffering from diabetes. In the horoscope, retrograde Jupiter is in the debilitated sign along with Saturn in the fourth house. Lagnesh (Lord Venus) is in the tenth house. Mars and Mercury are in the twelfth house. Sun and Rahu are together in the eleventh house. Moon is exalted and is in the eighth house. In this horoscope all three planets Jupiter, Moon and Venus are afflicted.

Horoscope-2: This is of a diabetic patient who has been suffering from this disease for 5 years, his horoscope is of Pisces ascendant and Cancer sign. In the horoscope, Moon and Sun are situated in the fifth house with a difference of less than 2 degrees. Here the Moon suffers a lot due to being closest in degrees to the Sun. Due to Lagnesh Jupiter being debilitated and retrograde in the income house, it is weak and suffering and Venus being the eighth lord is in the disease house. This position of Venus is converting chronic diseases into incurable diseases. Despite taking treatment for many years, his diabetes is not coming under control and is increasing with time.

Remedy:

• To increase the auspiciousness of Moon planet, the patient should regularly chant at least one rosary of Om

Namah Shivay on 5 Mukhi Rudraksha Rosary. Lord Shiva should be worshipped. Moonstone should be worn keeping in mind the position of the Moon in the horoscope.

• To strengthen the planet Jupiter and get auspiciousness, the patient should chant the mantra Om Gram Greem Graum Sah Guruvaye Namah on Rudraksh Mala.

• For the planet Venus, 1 rosary of the mantra Om Draam Dreem Draum Sah Shukraye Namah should be chanted on the crystal rosary every morning.

•To control diabetes, one rosary of the mantra 'Om Haung Jung Sah' should be chanted on the Rudraksha rosary.

What to do-

• Mix blackberry seed powder, bitter gourd powder and turmeric and consume it thrice a day.

• Take wheat and barley in the quantity of 2 kg each, grind them with one kg of gram and eat chapatti made from this flour only.

•Soak fenugreek (Maithi) seeds at night and eat it every morning on an empty stomach.

• Do not take too much stress about office work and get enough sleep at night. Less sleep is not good for health. To reduce stress, meditate or listen to music etc.

Precautions

-

• Change your lifestyle and start doing physical labour. If you don't want to go to the gym, then walk three to four kilometers a day or do yoga.

• Eat low calorie food. Completely eliminate sweets from your diet. Include vegetables, fresh fruits, whole grains, dairy products and sources of omega-3 fats in your diet and also consume fiber.

•Instead of eating three times a day, eat the same amount of food six or seven times.

• Diabetic patients should include drumstick, spinach, ridge gourd, turnip, brinjal, parwal, gourd, radish, cauliflower, broccoli, tomato, cabbage and leafy vegetables in their diet.

• Fruits include blackberries, lemon, amla, tomato, papaya, melon, raw guava, orange, sweet lime, nutmeg, pear. Mango, banana, apple, dates and grapes should not be eaten because they contain high sugar.

• Include almonds, sprouted pulses, sprouted peeled gram, sattu and millet etc. in your diet and use very little potato, rice and butter.

Saturn-Moon Combination and Cancer Disease

Cancer, the dreaded term for malignant growths and lumps, seems to be of unusually common occurrence in recent times. More people than ever before seem to be struck by the disease, which carries with it a near pall of death, if not checked in the initial stage.

Saturn, Moon and Dusthanas 6th, 8th and 12th seem to figure prominently in the charts of cancer patients.

This maiming, or disfiguration of the body, relates the Ascendant, or its lord to the 6th, 8th and 12th houses, or their lords. These Dusthanas rule such traumatic situations, or events, that would change the entire course of one’s life. Many who had to suffer from cancer, their lives changed overnight from laughter and sunshine to gloom.

Saturn, which characterises all that hardens, hinders, depletes and suppresses, would seem to be the best fitted planet to be associated with cancer. It would also explain very well the mental anguish and depression, that follow the biopsy, confirming the malignant nature of lump, or growth.

The Moon, ruling the mind and also all the excretions in the body system, would also fit well in this context. All lumps and tumours are nothing but the accumulations of secretions, that have been clogged, or otherwise prevented from normal movement.

A study of several charts of cancer patients has shown a link between MOON AND SATRUN. This link is found in the Navmasha chart. This does not necessarily mean that all charts where the Moon and Saturn are correlated are cases of cancer. But the majority of cancer cases have the MoonSaturn disposition. If Moon is afflicted by Saturn in Navamasha chart through posting, aspect, or conjunction, it indicates the disease of cancer. More important, Dashas

or directional influences must also warrant the disease of cancer

Now, I will discuss the various case studies of the natives who have suffered from cancer, to prove the combination of Saturn and Moon, a combination responsible for the disease of cancer.

Importance of Tithi in Predictive Astrology

Our sages, who made many contributions in the field of Astrology and wrote about their xperiences in the classics in the shape of sutras or shlokas. Every body who worked on this ancient subject had mastered different theories, as per their expertise, to be used in delineating a birth chart, or horoscope, thus provided the modern world with different tools to decipher a birth chart. One of these tools is Tithi, which is of prime importance in predictive astrology.

Since this article is related to the importance of Tithi in predictive astrology we shall restrict ourselves to its use only, while ignoring the method of calculating Tithi, since most of the learned fellows are aware of the method. Tithi plays a very prominent role in predictive astrology whereas most of the astrologers ignore 'its importance while making predictions' since they have kept its limitations up to Muhurta only.

We have 14 Tithis of Shukla Paksha and 14 of Krishna Paksha, thus making the total of 28. Since one Tithi comprises Poornima and one Amavasya it a total 30 Tithis and these 30 Tithis make one lunar month. First Tithi is known as Pratipada and the last one is Chaturdashi, excluding Poornima and Amavasya. Every native is born on some Tithi from Pratipada to Chaturdashi and of course on Poornima and Amavasya as well. Now on every Tithi two Rashis (signs) are given the name of Dagdha Rashis and on some Tithis four Rashis(signs) fall under the category of Dagdha Rashis(signs). On Poornima and Amavasya no Rashi is Dagdha Rashi(sign).

The literal meaning of Dagdha is burnt. One thing worth mentioning here is that Dagdha Rashis and Rikta Tithis are two different things, which should never be intermingled, while using Dagdha Rashis(signs). These Dagdha Rashis give either excellent, or worst results under certain conditions, as detailed below:

• It is always good if this Dagdha Rashi(sign) falls in a Trik Bhava, since a negative Rashi falling in a negative Bhava/house will give good results.

• In case either of the Dagdha Rashi(sign) falls in a good Bhava/house, it is destined to spoil some good traits of the concerned Bhava/house.

• Apart from Sun and Moon, every planet has ownership over two Rashis (signs) and the Rashi (sign), which is Dagdha, suffers and not the other sign owned by the same planet.

• If a benefic planet is posited in Dagdha Rashi (sign) at the same time it is in retrograde motion, it will give excellent results during its period, or sub period. But in case this benefic happens to be in its direct motion it will give worst results in its period or sub period. Up to some extent this rule is applicable during transit also.

• If a malefic planet is posited in a Dagdha Rashi (sign) but in its direct motion it will give excellent results during its period and its sub period. But in case this malefic happens to be in its retrograde motion, it will give worst results during its period and sub period. Again up to some extent this rule applies during transit also.

• Since Rahu’s and Ketu’s natural motion is retrograde only and they never move in a direct motion, hence placement

RESEARCH JOURNAL

of these two planets in a Dagdha Rashi (sign) will always give excellent results during their periods and sub period. But out of the two, Rahu will give much better results as compared to Ketu.

• In case a Dagdha Rashi (sign) is occupied by two planets, out of which one is malefic and other is benefic and this malefic is in direct motion and the benefic in a retrograde motion, in such a case in one planet’s major period the sub period of other planet will give excellent result. In case, as per rules if malefic is in its direct motion and the benefic is retrograde, a major period is that of malefic planet” will give excellent results, but as and when the sub period of benefic runs it will give bad results and vice versa.

• The sun and the moon, being luminaries and having only direct motion are exempted from the rules mentioned above.

To prove the importance of Tithi in predictive astrology, as mentioned above, few horoscopes are given below :

The most important and crucial period of life started after the Mars' Dasha and it was Rahu's period of 18 years. As per the version of most of the classics 4th house is house of education and Rahu's placement in this house was supposed to disturb his education along with the career, since these 24 years are generally the period of settlement.

For discussion we shall stick to the point related with Dagdha Rashis only. In this case Dagdha Rashis are Leo and Scorpio. While Leo is vacant Scorpio is occupied by Rahu, a first date malefic. But Rahus placement in Dagdha Rashi changed the characteristics of Rahu & this Rahu became a Yoga Karaka. During the Rahu's period native appeared for entrance examination for B.tech from a prestigious institute. He cleared his examination in flying colours and was placed 35th in ranking out of 6000 candidates. Native cleared his degree in computer sciences in stipulated period with flying colours. He selected in a multinational firm and later got a government job with one the best companies of USA. It was Rahu's period during which native travelled through almost whole of the world.

Moon’s Dasha ran up to the age of 13 years and up to 20 years native was under the major period of Mars. Mars is placed in a Dagdha Rashi and lord of 3rd and 10th, occupying 7th house. There is a powerful exchange between 7 and 10th lords ie. Sun and Mars and both the planets are posited in Dagdha Rashis. 7th house is 10th to 10th, meaning another house of profession. Involvement of 3rd lord indicates valour and arms. Native took cricket as his career and from 13th year of his age, when Mars’ major period started, native started showing his talent. Though Mars owns 10th house, it is a negative planet since its Mool trikona Rashi falls in 3rd house. But due to the placement of this Mars in its direct motion in Dagdha Rashi it started showing very good results. At his 20th year Rahu’s major period started and this Rahu is posited in a Dagdha Rashi native came into prominence and was chosen to represent home team at international level. During Rahu’s sub period in Rahu’s major period, native performed very well and secured his place in international team. In Jupiter’s sub period native's performance is not up to expectations, since Jupiter is a benefic planet placed in its direct motion in a Dagdha Rashi. Cleansing Aura and Chakra Balancing for Psychological Care

Every living or non-living object is composed of tiny particles of matter. These particles, according to Physics, are in constant motion. This motion creates energy. This energy covers all objects. Such energy is known as an Aura.

Aura Energy and Illness

When someone is ill, the aura of that person is a reflection of the illness of that person. This illness can be physical or psychological. Therefore it is logical to say that curing the energy fields around such a person will cure the illness.

The Process

This is a process of energy transfer. Energy exists in all matter and its main source is the Universe itself. Healers take this energy and transfer it to the patient, via their own energy body. The good and the bad energies are replaced, and grounded into the Earth’s energy.

These processes are called by many names: Psychic Healing, Chakra Healing or Balancing.

Channeling and Psychic Surgery

This is another aspect of Psychic Healing. However, this does not use Earth Energy, but rather uses the energy body of the Healer as a channel or medium of transfer on a very different level. The Healer uses this energy body to cause Healing spirit bodies to enter into our plane of existence and heal people inneed. Channeling can be used to

gain access to information on the spiritual plane of existence and information from ‘dead’ people.

Psychic Surgery involves a process of healing physical problems of people via surgery carried out by spirits. Often, this can be a painless and non-invasive experience.

The biggest thing to keep in mind when looking for and then consulting a psychic is that you still need to live your own life and make your own decisions. Psychics are "guides", they are not your decision makers.

If you have a decision to make, yes, a psychic can tell you what the possible outcome of the decision may be. They cannot tell you what decision you will make -- that's up to you.

True psychics want to help you on your path, want to make your life easier, give you some insights, help you feel better about whatever it is you are going through. Sometimes to give a bit more meaning to what it is you are experiencing. Psychics generally do not want to scare you. They aren't going to tell you that you will be cursed forever if you don't do what they say. That's not why God gave them the gift.

If you remember nothing else, remember this: A good psychic does not want to control you or your life, they want to help you to have control over your own life, and to realize your own potential.

Aura Cleansing

As we accumulate unwanted energies in daily life, regular aura cleansing supports health and well-being. Like psychic dust bunnies, we go around collecting debris on our aura, until we finally do something to cleanse it.

It is the same with personal hygiene. If you do not bathe, your body will become dirtier and dirtier. Gradually the smell becomes unbearable. Eventually, your body even becomes a breeding ground for disease

and bacteria. If you do not cleanse your aura, your spiritual energy system will also become 'dirtier and dirtier'. Eventually you become unpleasant for others to be around (though they may not consciously understand why). Your energy system then begins to attract lower vibrations which are also unhealthy for you and others.

In modern culture, we expect people to take care of their personal hygiene by bathing regularly, if not daily. But we are not yet so spiritually evolved!

Cleansing your Aura

Just like washing your hands cleans one part of your body and washing your face takes care of another different approaches to aura cleansing will support you in clearing different aspects of your energy system. Some aura clearing approaches are more light weight in terms of personal hygiene like changing your clothes, or putting on deodorant. They are still useful, but they can't replace bathing! Other methods of aura cleansing go much deeper equivalent to having a good scrub-down, or going for a detoxifying spa treatment.

In an aura healing, the healer supports you in cleansing unwanted energies out of your system. The healer assists you in grounding out psychic debris, releasing blocks and helps you get your own energy flowing.

Chakra Balancing

Involves increasing awareness, releasing blocks and creating more flow through these energy centers. Chakra is a spinning vortex of subtle energy. The term comes from the Sanskrit word chakram, which means "wheel", because these centers appear to clairvoyants and yogis as whirling disks of light. The system of subtle energy channels and centers is the basis for the Meridians and energy points used in acupuncture, yoga practice, and energy healing. There are eight main chakras, located in a line aligned with thespine.

RESEARCH JOURNAL

These centers connect the energy of the physical body with that of the Subtle Body. The eight chakras are located in the crown of the head, the center of the forehead (the third eye), the throat, the solar plexus, the base of the spine, the genitals, and beneath the feet (earth). When the chakras are functioning properly, the body's physical and subtle energies are in balance and harmony. Malfunctions can lead to physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual disturbances. Many energy workers believe that the chakras can be healed by the interaction between the vibrations of crystals and the energies of the body's. The concept of chakra balancing originated in the ancient Hindu system of healing, and yogis have used the chakra system for thousands of years as part of their yoga practices and holistic healing techniques. Chakras are said to be wheels of energy, or chi, located all over the human body.

Many people believe that physical and mental health problems can occur when these energy centers are misaligned or there is an energy blockage. These believers often turn to various methods of chakra balancing to improve health and well-being.

Many holistic healers or alternative medicine practitioners believe there are hundreds of chakras in the body, but they are primarily concerned with only the seven major ones. These seven wheels of energy are said to be aligned along the spine from the tailbonet to the top of the head. Each is represented by a different color.

According to chakra teachings, the first chakra is called the root chakra, and is represented by the color red and governs physical needs and security. The second chakra, or sacral, is orange and controls sexuality, emotions, and desires, while the third chakra, the solar plexus, is yellow and governs power. The fourth chakra, aka the heart chakra, controls love, forgiveness,

REviEw

and compassion and is represented by green. The fifth chakra, the throat, is blue and controls communication, while the sixth chakra, called the brow, is indigo and governs intuition and reasoning. The seventh chakra, the crown, is violet and controls spirituality and understanding.

According to chakra belief, the energy centers are interrelated and can affect one another. The root chakra spins at the lowest speed and has the lowest vibrational frequency. The other chakras get increasingly faster the further up the spine they are. The crown chakra spins the fastest, and at the highest vibrational frequency.

When all the chakras are working normally, each one will be open and spinning properly to gather an adequate amount of energy from the universal energy field. In this state, the body is centered, and life flows naturally and effortlessly.

However, when illness, stress, holding on to negative thoughts, or suppressing experiences occurs, the chakras can become blocked and energy can become stagnant. This is when chakra balancing may help restore the person's physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being Crystal Healing

Crystal Healing - Use of crystals of differing colors (therefore different vibrations) on parts of the body to stimulate health.

Crystal healing is a form of healing that uses crystals or gemstones. The crystals are mainly placed on specific areas of the body called "chakras." Chakra is a Hindu term meaning spiritual energy. According to this teaching there are seven basic energy centers in the body, each having a color associated with it. Some crystal healers place the same color crystals as the color of the chakras on the person to enhance the flow of energy. Crystals are said to direct the flow of energy to the person in a particular part of the body and bring

balance to a person's energy. Ultimately, they are used to cleanse the person from bad or negative energy believed to cause an illness. Clearing out the bad spiritual energy alleviates the physical ailment. Crystals are used for physical, mental, emotional and spiritual healing. Not only do people visit "crystal healers", in some places, professional nurses are being trained to use crystals for their patients.

Additionally, crystals can be worn, placed next to aperson's bed as they sleep, and in some cases placed around a person's bath.

Angel Therapy

Angel therapy is an alternative healing concept that involves communication with angels. The idea behind the therapy is that by establishing a connection with angelic beings, it is possible to identify and treat a wide range of health ailments. Depending on the exact style or expression of the therapeutic procedure, patients may attempt to establish the connection directly or with the aid of an angel therapist.

The concept of healing through faith and spirituality is common in many faith traditions. Contemporary expressions of angel therapy often draw on the varying ideas about angels that are part of the core beliefs of different religions. For example, some faiths see angels as guardians of human beings, with groups of angels assigned to the watch care of each person. Within this framework, the angel therapy would take the form of establishing contact with those angels to learn what must be done in order to correct the emotional, spiritual, or physical condition that currently plagues the individual.

In other expressions, angel therapy may involve the use of a third party that will attempt to contact specific angels that are part of the belief system of a particular faith tradition.

This is often the case when a specific angelic being is associated with a particular type

of healing. Angel therapists will attempt to intervene on behalf of the patient and ask for assistance in bringing about healing, either through super natural means or the prudent use of tangible items that are employed according to the angel’s instructions.

It is important to note that some forms of angel therapy are not just about healing of the body, mind, or spirit. In some instances, the therapy has to do with obtaining guidance on how to make an important decision or choice that may alter the direction of one’s life. Angel therapies may also focus on helping an individual to become free of habits that are selfdestructive. The therapy may even involve something as simple as a patient seeking help in learning how to forgive someone that has hurt the individual deeply.

Just at the type of angel healing can vary, the range of actual treatments is very broad. In some instances, the therapist is understood to channel the angel, making it possible for the patient to converse directly with the angel. At other times, the therapy takes the form of using visualization techniques to sense the presence of angels who are gathering around the patient and infusing him or her with positive energy. The angel treatment may manifest as entering into a state where the angel can communicate with the subconscious mind, providing guidance and practical instruction on how to deal with whatever issue is at hand.

As with most alternative healing methods, angel therapy has a number of detractors as well as supporters. Some of the detractors are members of various religious communities that believe the patient is not communicating with angels, but with evil spirits. Others do not believe in the existence of angels at all; they believe the patient is engaging in a dangerous act of self-delusion that delays seeking competent medical treatment or psychological care. r

In which house does the Moon give the best results?

The Moon (Chandra) is the most important horoscope factor in Indian astrology. Its significance is proportional to and even outperforms the significance of the ascendant. If the reason for the basic meaning of the Moon is understood, then the essence of the whole system becomes clear, because it governs the sphere of the mind, comfort, basic well-being, and good luck of the individual.

Unlike Western astrology, where the focus is on personal tendencies and attractions, strength, authority, and abilities, in Indian astrology, the main thing is the wellbeing that a person has, that is, comfort, wealth, fame, etc. This is the essence of Indian astrology. Therefore, if the Moon is weakened or afflicted, it will be quite difficult to achieve success in life and a person may never know happiness and well-being.

The Moon governs the mother, women, emotional life, and society. She also knows growth and, probably for this reason, significantly affects health in childhood. People with an afflicted Moon are generally weak and sickly in the early years of their lives. Also, the Moon governs the mind, not the intellect, but the sphere of common sense.

Memory is a function of the moon. Probably the most important fact to remember about the Moon is that more than any other factor in the horoscope, except the ascendant alone, it influences the main direction of life.

The house where the Moon is located should never be ignored or underestimated in analysis. The indicators of this house are the most important beneficial facets of life. It also often helps to determine the profession that a person will choose.

Given that the Moon is such an important factor in the horoscope, the next step after analyzing the natal chart is to look

at the horoscope, where the 1st house is the one in which the Moon is located. This chart is called Chandra Lagna (literally, the Ascendant of the Moon). The analysis of this chart has no independent significance, but the information obtained from it is kept in memory by Indian astrologers and used in the description of the horoscope. Chandra lagna is not very accurate in predictions, but it gives additional weight and shade to the current horoscope.

The moon is greatly influenced by the planets that surround it. The Moon should not be isolated in the horoscope. It is good when the planets are either in conjunction with the Moon or are located in the previous or subsequent houses, possibly both. Of course, it is good if they are beneficent planets, but even malefic planets are better than none at all. Otherwise - when the Moon is isolated - it can lead to mental breakdown, lack of luck, fame and good reputation. Of decisive importance in Indian astrology is the fact whether the Moon was waxing or waning at the time of birth, as the waxing Moon is good, and the waning Moon is harmful.

However, it should be clarified that a growing or brightening Moon can only move slightly from the new moon point and therefore still be quite dim. In the same way, a waning moon can move slightly

RESEARCH JOURNAL

REviEw

from the point of the full moon and still be very bright. Therefore, this provision must be used with caution. But two facts should be remembered thoroughly: the first is that there is a qualitative difference between the waxing and waning Moon; the second is that a bright moon has a stronger effect than a dim one.

You should also know that the bright Moon in the house where it is located, and its aspects give the same strong effects as Jupiter. Therefore, the Full Moon, which in Western astrology has an extremely heavy influence (known as the opposition of the Moon to the Sun), is one of the most fortunate and favorable astrological positions in the Indian system. It is quite easy to distinguish a waxing moon from a waning moon in a birth chart. If it moves from the Sun to the opposition, then this is the growing Moon, or gaining brightness. If it has reached opposition with the Sun and is moving towards conjunction, then it is a warning Moon, or losing its brightness. The Moon is a cold, wet, and feminine planet. The best position is in Taurus, where she is exalted. The worst thing about Scorpio is where she's in the fall. The Moon rules Cancer and gives very good results in this sign. Receives dig- Bala or guiding force in the 4th house where it gives excellent results.

The friends of the Moon, that is, the planets that greet her in their signs, are the Sun and Mercury. The rest of the planets are neutral to it. She has no enemies. Another name for the Moon is Soma. Pearls and silver should be worn to strengthen a weak, waning, and afflicted Moon.

• You are in a state of awareness and live in the present moment. You stop living in the past or the future, freeing yourself from the burden of guilt and anxiety. The present becomes your only focus, which helps you enjoy every moment of life.

9. Don't be afraid of death:

• Understanding karma and the principle of the eternal life of the soul helps you accept death as a natural part of the life cycle. You are not afraid of leaving this world, because you understand that the spiritual being continues its journey outside the physical body.

In conclusion, I would like to add:

Paying off karmic debt is an important step on the path of spiritual insight. When we realize our actions and their consequences, forgive and accept, learn to live in the present and appreciate spiritual development, we become witnesses of real happiness and peace within ourselves. These signs indicate that you are on the right path and are discovering new levels of awareness and spiritual harmony. r

Venus is in Ascendant

Goddess ‘Kamla’ or ‘Lakshmi’ is the ruling ‘mahavidya’ of the planet Venus and those with Venus placed in the first house should definitely chant her name every day and turn to her for her blessings. As usual, we shall arrive at the main answer but with a slight detour for a better understanding of the energy in question…

You know early on in my journey of understanding the ‘mahavidyas’, I could never really understand what made Goddess ‘Kamla’ so powerful so as to be the consort of ‘Vishnu’.

I mean other than the obvious material blessings that she bestows.. I couldn’t get what her real ‘power’ was.

• I mean in case of ‘Brahma’ and ‘Saraswati’ I understand the logic: Knowledge naturally accompanies creativity.

• In case of ‘Shiva’ and ‘Shakti’ as well I got it: Two energies that are seen as separate but are one and with an equally matched ability for ‘tapa’.

• In case of ‘Vishnu’ and ‘Lakshmi’, you get to know that ‘Lakshmi’ emerged from the ocean and chose ‘Vishnu’ as her consort.

Kind of breaks the pattern there. Don’t you think? In time I realized it.

‘Lakshmi’ is the all auspicious, all benevolent force of the universe.

She doesn’t know how to hold back. She gives.

She is the only goddess who holds two lotuses in each hand and gives with both of her other two hands.

It’s like auspiciousness multiplied.

She is the power that is needed by the side of the ‘preserver’ of the trinity: ‘Vishnu’.

What is her superpower?

To give unconditionally.

However, anger her and you will quickly realize her greatest power:

The power to take away all her blessings with her!

Ladies and gentlemen, that is a lot like the power of an individual with a strong Venus in their chart especially if it is in the ‘Lagna’ or ‘Arudha Lagna’.

If you look at some of the top entertainers, artists and designers in the world, all of them have one trait in common: their ability to give.

RESEARCH JOURNAL

That is precisely why a strong Venus gives one a lot of recognition and fame in society. These people are the ‘givers’.

Furthermore it really doesn’t come as a surprise. Why?

Where is Venus exalted? The sign of Pisces of course! The very sign and energy of ‘giving’ freely.

Now, if you have Venus in the first house, then that effectively means in this lifetime, your soul chose its experiences of growth via the life path and body, quite exquisitely.

Or let’s say at least as exquisitely as possible.

I say this because tons can happen even after that in terms of aspects, conjunctions & ‘nakshatra’ placements et all that can disempower Venus.

Nevertheless, Venus in the first house makes Venus central to your life path and personality.

Whatever planet is in the ascendant becomes very important from the perspective of the life experiences, journey and life path of the native as also the native’s physical traits.

So if Venus is placed in the first house of your natal chart and especially if it’s placed very closed to the ascendant, then it shows that your life path is going to involve a lot of influences around the following themes:

• Relationships

• Beauty

• Self love

• Luxuries/ Comforts/ Conveniences

• Self preservation

• Self improvement etc.

• Sharing

• Caring

• Charisma Venus in the first house is actually quite a good placement.

REviEw

• That’s because Venus naturally rules the second and seventh houses in the chart. Right?

• The natural second and seventh house in the chart correspond to the signs of Taurus and Libra.

• So Venus placed in the first house is essentially the energies of the ruler of the natural 2nd and 7th house placed in the 1st.

• This is a good influence as it creates harmonious aspects in terms of accumulation of wealth and gain or relationships coming towards the individual. Why?

• Because the ruling planet is moving towards the first house so it is bringing the energy there.

• Any other sign placements that are actually present in the houses and it may vary from chart to chart, are just influences that will come to bear in terms of the native being able to manifest the primary two energies of wealth and relationships into his or her life.

For example let’s say you are an Aquarius ascendant with Venus in the first house and therefore Venus rules the 4th and 9th houses in your chart.

• Now what happens is the energy flow being provided by Venus placed in the 1st is already there.

• Venus in the first house shows automatically that this individual’s life path is meant to involve gain of wealth, assets and relationships.

• The magnitude may vary as a result of many other factors at play but the general theme holds true.

• How that is going to manifest for the person can be seen via the houses that Venus rules in the person’s chart.

• So 4th and 9th house rulership for an Aquarius ascendant may well show us

an individual who works in hospitality, travel, education or media in some way and it is through their involvement in these fields that they will unlock the promise of Venus in the first house.

1. Venus in the first house is a great placement because Venus stands for all kinds of successes and victories that are possible on the material plane.

2. Venus represents awards, recognitions, social events, parties, network groups, relationships and above all ‘abundance’ and ‘happiness’.

3. Venus in ascendant people tend to be quite sociable and balanced.

4. This is because Venus is a very balanced and sociable energy.

5. Venus deals with everything that connects you to others as it is a very collaborative type of energy focused more on the collective than itself.

If you look at it, in ‘Vedic’ texts, ‘Guru’ ‘Shukracharaya’, who is represented by the planet Venus, is the ‘guru’ of the ‘asuras’ in the same way that ‘Guru’ ‘Brihaspati’ (Jupiter) is the ‘guru’ of the ‘devas’.

‘Shukracharya’ probably had his hands more than full compared to ‘Brihaspati’. Why?

• Because ‘Shukracharya’ was the only rational and ‘saatvic’ person in the camp of millions of opportunists and greedy yet often foolish individuals.

• His job was to find a way to protect and help with the growth of the ‘asuras’ despite their shortcomings.

• The energy of ‘Brihaspati’ is an energy on the other hand, that is very quick to cut you off if you aren’t living up to its standards.

• This is why as the story goes, ‘Brihaspati’ refused to be the teacher of ‘Shani’ because he was illegitimate. It was ‘Shukracharya’ who accepted ‘Shani’

as his disciple.

Let’s take a real world example for this:

• It’s tough to get into, endure and pass the Bachelors’ in Engineering course in let’s say IIT Bombay.

• However, you can very easily get in with a paid seat (although it might cost a lot) at one of the best private engineering colleges in the world.

How you turn out as an engineer after completing the course is completely up to you.

It’s about the work you put in and the application of your knowledge.

That’s essentially the philosophy of Venus or ‘Shukra’: “Equal opportunity”

• Venusian traits revolve more around ‘utility’ at a material and ‘tangible’ level than ‘ideals’ and ‘tradition’.

• A society/ system with equal opportunities produces better results for all. That’s the philosophy of Venus.

• As a contrast, Jupiter who is the ‘deva guru’ is a purist who is too focused on preserving the traditional essence.

• If it weren’t for the energy of Venus, a lot of knowledge as is available to us in the material plane, wouldn’t be available.

So that is why you will often see people with Venus in the first house, involved in professions that have a lot to do with helping/providing/improving in some way.

This can be anyone from a surgeon to a teacher or coach.

The exact profession will have to be analyzed by the placement of other planets.

• However with Venus in the first house, you can bet that a lot of life events are going to be filtered through the expression of Venusian traits and among the most important of those traits is helping, healing, beautifying in some way.

RESEARCH JOURNAL

• Venus in first house people will also very likely be individuals who enjoy beautifying and improving their own appearance.

• So it is quite likely that they have a lot of interest in wearing good fashionable clothes, perfumes, lenses, hair extensions, nail extensions, jewelry, eyewear, headgear, hair color etc.

• Also, beautifying and improving oneself isn’t limited to physical appearance.

• It can also have a lot to do with the ‘aesthetics’ and ‘perception’ as in how shapely your physique is or your influence in society.

• Venus in first house people can be quite ambitious in terms of the social status and ‘place’ they occupy in the social structure of the world.

• In this respect they can potentially work quite hard to acquire the necessary skills that can help them become ‘better’ and be in a better position to look after themselves and others.

The underlying ‘intention’ of the individuals with Venus in first house matters here to understand this placement better.

It matters because let’s say you have Mercury in the first house.

You may still be quite drawn to improving and enhancing your skill set but that will mainly be from a place of curiosity at least at a fundamental level.

• With Venus, the aim is often to ‘provide’ and ‘enjoy’.

• Venus in first house people also become great lovers because they derive a lot of happiness from giving.

• Yes they will may often be a little high maintenance because of refined tastes and preferences for comfort and luxury.

• However, they are just as happy to share what they have with the ones they love.

REviEw

• They keep their standards high because they have the ability to ‘give’ and ‘grow’. Therefore, there is a particular level of self preservation and protection that they maintain about their energy to ensure they don’t get taken advantage of.

• For example a Venus in first house woman may necessitate having a car if you want to date her. However, cry ‘gold digger’ all you want if you can’t get her…

• But the one who does ends up with her will know what she won’t mind giving him expensive gifts because it is as a result of her appreciation and understanding of luxury that she also appreciates the joy it can bring to the ones she loves. Get it?

Since it is in the first house, Venus has a lot of say in how the life of the native unfolds.

• Cooperation and mutual understanding are the keywords here.

• Venusian people can be very happy by themselves and basically you just need to picture a typical Libran or Taurean person and how they like to chill in their time to get an idea.

• (That’s because Libra and Taurus are ruled by Venus.)

• Their ability of being happy just loving themselves is what helps them also work well with others even if sometimes they have to deal with difficult people who get on their nerves.

• One thing Venus in ascendant people are never going to tolerate is being disrespected.

• They value themselves too much to allow others to treat them unfairly and without the ‘love’ and ‘affection’ they deserve.

• Once again, that is because Venus is above all else, representative of love and affection and these people value

RESEARCH JOURNAL

REviEw

both the traits quite highly.

In fact, part of the refinedness of Venus lies in being able to navigate tough times with a lot of grace.

These people will be very good at dressing up well, projecting a positive image and carrying themselves with grace even while wearing very ordinary clothes or accessories.

• Part of the reason that ‘Shukracharya’ is so revered by the ‘devas’ and ‘asuras’ alike, is because he is the only one privy to the ‘mrit sanjeevani vidya’.

• This is a secret ‘vidya’ by which ‘Shukra’ has acquired the power to bring a dead person back to life!

• This is why the ‘asuras’ are never completely wiped out no matter how hard the ‘devas’ try.

In fact, in today’s times, the USA is what we would call ‘paatal lok’.

It’s right underneath us from the reference point of India. Right?

You see capitalism and you see its negative sides and everything and yet there is no denying the fact that capitalism is also responsible for massive advances in science and medicine.

That is kind of the gist of Venus’ powers of healing and growth.

It is for this reason that these individuals, even though they may be mistaken to be ‘soft’ and ‘laid back’ to others who don’t have this placement.. can navigate tough times and with a lot of class.

• You will probably never see a Venus in ascendant person letting it be known how tough things are for them.

• That’s because at an inherent level these people are highly confident of their ability to improve their life.

• May be in the beginning you will not see it and they may be asleep to their abilities but in time you will often see

these people floating through tough times as if it can’t touch them.

• The key probably is that Venus in first house people always know how they need to show up for something.

• For example let’s say times are tough and they are between jobs and aren’t really getting the interviews they want but they finally do land a good opportunity through a contact or friend.

• This person is going to know exactly the personality they need to portray to build a connection with whoever is the ‘gatekeeper’ to the next level.

• They can be very charming and calm even in difficult circumstances.

• In fact, the right word here is ‘dignified’. That’s the aura they carry.

• If you have Venus in the first house of your birth chart, it shows that your soul in this lifetime has chosen the path of love and happiness, above everything else.

• With Venus in the first house, you love life above anything else.

So you can have fires breaking out in the rest of the chart with all kinds of difficult ‘yogas’ and ‘doshas’ et all but if you have Venus in the first house especially in good dignity and benefic aspects, you can bet that everything that is happening to you in life is only seeking to turn you into a more and more loving individual.

• The most important lesson for people with this placement is learning how to be devoted and loving.

• They will quite often be tested in life in terms of their devotion to not only people but also themselves, their values, their beliefs and talents.

• Self love is a very important lesson for these people.

• Once you master that in the most balanced way possible you unlock all

RESEARCH JOURNAL

the blessings that life has to offer.

• By ‘balanced’ I mean the right balance between knowing when to take a stand for what you know you deserve and desire and also what you know you need to share and give to others who love you and need you.

Here are some of the most notable people with this placement:

Angelina Jolie (Famous Hollywood actress also known for extensive humanitarian work)

• One can say about here that she’s truly one woman whos’ beautiful inside out.

• Besides being one of the hottest and most talented female actresses in Hollywood, Jolie then began a lengthy association with the United Nations in 2001

• In the course of that journey, she adopted 3 children Maddox, Zahara and Pax, from orphanages in Cambodia, Ethiopia, Vietnam!

• She also 3 children with her ex husband Brad Pitt.

• George Clooney (Famous Hollywood actor and filmmaker)

• The OG of Silverfoxes, Clooney has been voted sexiest man alive many times throughout his life.

• What makes him more desirable is that he also has great film making and acting skills delivering all time hit movies like the Ocean’s series, Gravity and Michael Clayton.

• Interestingly, after getting divorced very early in life, Clooney was certain that he would never find love again.

• Until late in his life at 52, when he finally tied the knot with human rights lawyer Amal in 2014.

• There is another story that is famous about him. In 2013, after a long period of living

REviEw

alone and single and have gone through life’s ups and downs pretty much on his own or with the help of friends, Clooney finally met the love of his life ‘Amal’ and he felt that he needed to thank all the people who had helped him in one way or another until that point. Since they wouldn’t agree to being paid back as they did it out of friendship, Clooney filled 14 Kumi suitcases with $1 million each, called them all to meet and gave each of his friends a suitcase as a token of thanks!

So as you can see, people with Venus in the first house are truly blessings to have in your life.

Obviously if this isn’t turning out the way described for someone then there are difficult ‘nakshatras’, aspects and conjunctions at play and those need to be carefully studied. r

Result of Atmakaraka placed in Different Houses

Atma karaka (hereinafter AK) the planet with the highest degree in the natal chart is the potential, talents, and greatest desires of man. The house in which the Atma karaka is located is a place, a sphere where a person wants to manifest himself, realize himself, and where he is drawn throughout his life. Equally important are the houses ruled by the Atma karaka.

• AK in trikona houses (trikones - 1.5, 9).

A person who has a planet with the highest degree located in one of these houses is already lucky.

These houses are the best in the natal chart. And even such harsh and hot planets as Mars and Saturn will give good results.

Luck, success, prosperity, creative prospects - all this goes into the hands of a person and he doesn’t even need to do anything.

• AK in Kendra houses (kendras - 1, 4, 7, 10)

- these are the best houses for material success.

Having Atma karaka in one of these houses,

a person has the opportunity to realize himself and have financial abundance and become a bright, famous person.

• Ak in upachaya houses (upachaya2,3,6,11)

- these are very good houses specifically for finance, wealth, and savings.

Having Atma karaka in these houses, a person will not remain hungry.

But here everything is not as simple as with previous houses.

The first half of life will have to work hard.

These houses give the green light for the realization of all the planets.

Especially those that, according to the rules of astrology, are considered negative (Sun, Saturn, Mars, Rahu, Ketu).

• AK in Dusthans (Dusthans - 8.12)

- in astrology, these houses are considered the most difficult.

Because they are the least connected with material things and success in external activities.

A person with Atma karaka will be least interested in the problems of everyday life.

This is a person, as it were, not of this world, and he will be to the knowledge of what is beyond the limits of earthly life.

The 6th house also refers to the houses of dusthans.

RESEARCH JOURNAL

But it also applies to material houses. And it belongs to the group of heavy houses because it is associated with human health.

An interesting and important point is if the Atma karaka is located, for example, in a kendra, but at the same time it is the ruler of the dustkhana.

A person in life will have ups and downs, gains and losses to an early degree.

A man bought a lottery ticket and won 1,000 USD.

and a week later he went out into the street and lost the same amount.

It's not clear how.

Houses below the horizon are half of the 1st house, 2,3,4,5,6, and half of the 7th housethe inner world of a person.

Having Atma Karaka in these houses, a person will be more interested in himself. There will be a lot of digging and understanding yourself.

He will be more busy with his personal problems and desires.

Houses above the horizon - 8,9,10,11,12 and half of the 1st and 7th houses - the outside world.

Social life, desires and help to others, various societies, groups, organizations - will be of interest to a person.

Someone else's inner world will be more attractive than your own.

Atma karaka in houses

1. In the first house - "The person is not the one who first said "A", but the one who first said "I". To be the first and depending on the planet it will be clear exactly how a person wants to take first place. Venus is Miss Universe, Jupiter is teacher of the year or the best guru, Sun is a born leader, at least in his narrow circle. Personal developmentto become the best version of yourself and be the first among the first in your activities.

2. In the second house - “When work is pleasure, life is good! When work is a duty, life is slavery!” A person who has atma karaka in this house will enjoy work. Workfor the sake of pleasure, money - stability and confidence in the future. A very strong connection with the family in which the person was born.

3. In the third house - "A pessimist is a person who complains about the noise when luck knocks on his door." This house is important to analyze in any case. This is the house of human energy and effort. Is it enough for a person to cope with what life will bring. And it is also an indicator of how they feel being next to us. Having atma karaka in this house, the theme of traveling for the purpose of knowledge, development, communication and just for a pleasant pastime will be important.

4. In the fourth house - "Some people think that they have a good heart, although in reality they have only weak nerves." AK is the heart of the horoscope and the 4th house is associated with the human heart and nerves. Depending on the planet, you can understand what a person's psyche is strong or weak, as well as the ability to love (in the sense of heart love). Having AK in this house, a person will be attached to his mother and, if not by heart, then by fate. Education will be important not as selfdevelopment, but educational institutions and diplomas. And of course real estate to have your own home will be a strong desire of the individual.

5. In the fifth house - "Do what you can, with what you have, where you are." Creativity, intellectual abilities, romantic relationships, art, talents, children. After the ninth house, this is the best house. Any planet has both positive and negative qualities. In this house, anyone will show positive qualities.

6. In the sixth house - “A powerful individual is not afraid of opponents, but he is afraid of buddies. Eliminating an enemy with one

blow, he does not feel any suffering, but he is afraid to involuntarily wound a friend, like a lady. The weak are not afraid of friends, but they are afraid of enemies. And that's why he sees an enemy in everyone. When the atma karaka is in this house, the energy is directed towards combating everyday worries. Overcoming one difficulty, another arises. Breaking one habit creates another. Having prompted some enemies, new ones appear. Once debts are paid off, new ones arise. This house requires careful analysis. So having studied it, you can understand where all this will come from. As the saying proceeds, seen in the stars is forearmed.

7. In the seventh house - "He was like me, more than myself." Atma karaka says that a person is revealed in partnership. You won't be able to act alone. Depending on the planet, the nature of the interaction will be clear. Jupiter - wise, reliable partners. Mercury - inexperienced, light (windy), not constant. Saturn is tough and domineering.

8. In the eighth house - “Do not be afraid to discover a new world, visit new places, do new things, go towards the new and unknown. Life on the couch, although in peace and security, is not life. Ak in this house is a very interesting position. To say that a person's life will not be boring and not stable is to say nothing. But that is the way of this person. At some point, you will be seized by a shackling fear and you will want to stop, but you are drawn to adventures in unknown worlds. Having such a position, a person will never know what awaits him around the next bend.

9. In the ninth house - "Throw the lucky one into the water, and he will swim up with a fish in his mouth." To have atma karaka in this house is like being born in a shirt. Everything is possible for a person, problems are solved without much effort. A person lives with faith in himself, in higher powers knows his way. To have atma karaka in this house is a super position. There will always be people nearby who will help, direct, prompt.

10. In the tenth house - “The desire for love is one of the most acute human desires. But the desire to make a career, earn millions, become successful and influential is stronger than this desire. It is impossible to describe better in two sentences the aspirations of a person with atma karaka in this house. The energy of the planet is aimed at achieving maximum success in this area. Whether it functions or not is another query.

11. In the eleventh house - "If you want to know exactly what you are worth, count your friends." This quote is debatable. But it characterizes the 11th house. Because having atma karaka in this house, a person may not work at all and receive finances just like that from his friends and like-minded people. This is a very material house and having such a position, a person can create a business and make a profit from it. But this business will be possible only with friends, associates. It won't work alone.

12. In the twelfth house - "A beauty during the day, a freak in the night and year after year it goes like this" This is what they say about people who lead a double life. A person with atma karaka in this house is very secretive and really has something to hide. Being alone with himself, he, as it were, flies away from this world, his soul enjoys the expanses of the universe where there are no all these worldly rules and incomprehensible values. In the life of such people there will always be unfortunate people crippled by life and they will save them to help put life on track, with concrete deeds.

Given the fact that the planets transfer energy to each other.

If the Atma karaka stands in the same house from another planet or just close in degrees. It will no longer be primordial energy in its purest form.

When mixing, you get something different and, accordingly, a different result.

The nakshatra in which the planet of the soul is located is also of great importance. r
