Assessment of Child Birth Timing as per Dasha System

Prof. Dr. Chander Kant Sharma, Prof. Department of Astrology, Mewar University, Chittorgarh (RAJ.) Tanvi Bansal, Research Scholar, Mewar University, Chittorgarh (RAJ.)

These days people have started marrying late due to raised education period and even after marriage most of the urban working population take time to plan family due to professional and financial stability. Very often they visit astrologers and look forward for consult them as when will they be able to achieve parenthood. The desire to have children is natural and becomes fundamental in achieving complete family bliss with most couples. Birth of children maintains the continuity of family and society .Difficulty or even a substantial delay in childbirth creates lot of anxiety and becomes a matter of extreme concern not just with expecting parents but the extended family also. Also it has been noted that some couples naturally take much longer time to be blessed with children .It can be due to various delay causing yogas, dashas and transit or the combination of these three in their horoscopes. So we conducted a research that covered the astrological possibilities of timing of happening of child birth in an individual’s horoscope, this can lead to lower stressand anxiety levels of parents . To predict the timing of any event , as per vedic astrology it is believed that dasha creates the environment and transit is the final trigger. We find various rules in traditional texts which state that dasha is one of the key factors to be considered to predict happening of child birth in one’s life. In this article we will mainly discuss the out comings of a research we conducted on 2315 horoscopes including males and females both.We analyzed the results by using the most authentic and most accepted vedic astrology software Leo Star Expert. In this article I shall be discussing the results of the research,I conducted on 2315 individuals including both males and females .We took their birth details (date/time and place of birth) and the date of births of their children as well.We analyzed their horoscope in the light of astrological texts and rules available to compare the actual happening. As in what dashas actually impacted the birth of their child or which dasha was in operation when the child birth happened in their life. First let us put all the dasha rules that we got from astrological books and texts1. The dasha /antardasha of most powerful planet out of 5th lord, the dispositor of 5th lord, the dispositer of fifth lord in navmansha ,jupiter, dispositer of jupiter in navmansha proves condusive for child birth. Ref-The second edition of “Phaldeepika Bhavarthbodhini” (1988) by gopesh kumar ojha(7)

2. The birth of son should possibly take place in the dasha or antardasha of any of the following planets• 1)the lord of the ascendant, • 2)the lord of the 7th house, • 3)the lord of the fifth house, • 4)jupiter, • 5)the planet aspecting the 5th house, • 6)the planet occupying the fifth house Ref:Matters Relating to birth of children 25/ manteshwara’s phal Deepika/pg 143 3. Add the longitudes of (1the lord of ascendant,(2)the lord of the 7th house, and (3) the lord of the 5th house.

During the course of major period represented by the owner of the nakshatra resulting from the sum total of longitudes of the above planets and in the sub period of any of the following planets will the birth of a son (children) take place• the planet occupying the 5th house • the planet aspecting the 5th house • the lord of the 5th house Ref:Matters Relating to birth of children 27/ manteshwara’s phal Deepika/pg 144 4. In the dasha/antardasha of

Ascendant,7th lord,5th lord or jupiter, the planet aspecting 5th house, planet placed in 5th house are auspicious for child birth Ref:Santan bhav adhyay/acharya manteshwar phal Deepika/author suresh chandra mishra pg 138 5. In the dasha /antardasha of jupiter/5th lord, dispositor of jupiter or the lord of navmansha which ever is stronger, the native is blessed with son. Ref:Santan bhav adhyay/acharya manteshwar phal Deepika/author suresh chandra mishra pg 139 6. The house which is fifth,9th from jupiter, lagna ,moon are considered for progeny, that why in the dasha/ antardasha of these house lords ,child happening is promised. Ref:pancham -shasht bhav phal /jatak parijatak/author gopesh kumar ojha pg 881 7. Add the longitudes of 5th and 7th lord, in the dasha of rashi(nakshatra) representing the total is considered fruitful for child birth. Ref:pancham -shasht bhav phal /jatak parijatak/author gopesh kumar ojha pg 881 8. 5th house lord.jupiter, planet aspecting fifth house, planet placed in 5th house ,dashas /antardashas of all these if auspicious in kundali are condusive for child birth. Ref:pancham -shasht bhav phal /jatak parijatak/author gopesh kumar ojha pg 881

Conclusion

After going through these rules and talking to many expert astrologers, We came to a conclusion that • Dasha of house lords specially 5th house lord should be studied. • Impact of dasha of planet aspecting fifth house or 5th lord should be analyzed. • Jupiter considered karak of progeny should be deeply considered for all its dasha /antardashas. • 9th house lord and 9th house being 5th from 5th (bhavat bhavam) should be studied. So we thought and planned to study the following dasha parameters.

• On the basis of house lordship of M.d/

A.d/P.d lord

• On the basis of positioning/placement of

M.D/A.D/P.D lord in the natal chart

• On the basis of conjuction of M.D/A.D/P.D

lord with other planets in the natal chart

• On the basis of Aspects of M.D/A.D/P.D

• On the basis of Aspects of various house

lords on M.D/A.D/P.D lord in the natal chart

• On the basis of Aspects of M.D/A.D/P.D

lords on various house lords in the natal chart Findings that favoured child birth/ dashas in operation at the time of child birth

#On the basis of house lordship of M.d/A.d/ P.d lord

1. When Mahadasha lord was the lord of 2nd , 5th or 7th house or to put it in a better way when the mahadasha in operation was either of 2, 5, 7 houses that period is considered favourable for child birth. • If sun is the Mahadasha lord then in most cases it was lord of 3rd, 11th or 12th houses • If sun is the antardasha lord and also the lord of first house, this is favorable. • If moon is the AD lord then it was lord of 2nd house clearly in most cases. • If Mars is the AD lord , then it was the lord of 6th and 11th house. • If mercury was the Ad lord at the time of birth of child it was mainly ruling houses 1st or 2nd. • If jupiter is the AD lord, it was the lord of • If venus was the ad lord , it was found to be lord of 10th, 11th or 12th • If saturn was the AD lord , it was the lord of 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th or 9th houses 3. Pratyantar dasha lord should be lord of 2nd, 5th or 6 th house • If sun is the P.Dlord, it should be preferably be lord of 1st house • If moon is the P.Dlord , it should be lord of 2nd or 12th house • If mars is the pd lord , it should be lord of 6th house • If mercury is the P.D lord, it should be lord of 1, 2 or 11 house • If Jupiter is the P.D lord it should be lord of 2, 5, 6 or 7th house

• If moon is the MD Lord , then in most cases it was 2nd lord • If venus is the P.d lord, it should be lord of 5, 10 or 12 th house

• If Mars is the MD lord then it should be the lord of 7th or 8th house preferably. • If Jupiter is the M.D lord then in most cases it was lord of 7th house. • If Venus is the M.D lord then in most cases it was lord of 10th house. • If Saturn is the M.D lord then in most cases it was lord of 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th lord. 2. The lord of Antardasha in operation was the lord of 4th or 5th house in most cases when the child birth happened. • If saturn is the P.D lord it gave most auspicious results being lord of 5, 6, 7 or 8th house

conclusions-

• For sun it should be lord of first house to give benefic results in M.D,AD,and PD • Moon should be second lord to give best results in M.D,A.D and P.D • Mars should be sixth lord to give best results in M.D,A.D and P.D

• Mercury should be lord of 1st or 2nd house in its M.D,A.D and P.D • Jupiter should be lord of 6th or 7th house in its M.D/AD and P.D • Venus should be lord of 10 or 12th house in its M.D/A.D/P.D • Saturn should be lord of 5,6,7 or 8th house in its M.D/A.D/P.D

#On the basis of positioning/placement of M.D/A.D/P.D lord in the natal chart

1. During the statistical research, we found that Mahadasha lord should be placed in houses 1 st,2nd ,3rd, 9th or 11th house mainlyfor child birth to happen. If the mahadashas of following planets is in operation then • Sun should be preferably placed in 1st or 2nd house • Moon should be placed in 3,7,9,11 th houses • Mrs should be placed in 2nd house • mercury should be placed in 2nd or 6th house • jupiter should be placed in 7th or 9th • venus should be placed in 4th • saturn should be placed in 3,8 or12th • Rahu should be placed in 8th,10th or 11th • saturn should be placed in 2nd house

Note: M.D lord has no direct relation with its placement in 5th house

• Specifically talking about jupiter which is considered karak planet of 5th house or progeny does not give any extra results in its dasha compared to other planet vis v mentioned in traditional texts. • In general shani, rahu, moon and Jupiter are best dashasin operation for child birth 2. It was also found that antardasha lord should be placed in 1st,2nd,3rd,7th or 11th house If the antardashas of following planets is in operation then • Sun should be preferably placed in 1st ,2nd,7th or 9th house • Moon should be placed in 1,7,9,11 th houses • Mars should be placed in 2nd ,8th,10th house • Mercury should be placed in 1st,2nd ,3rd or 7th house • Jupiter should be placed in 1st • Venus should be placed in 11th or 12th • Saturn should be placed in 2,6,9 or12th • Rahu should be placed in 3,4,5,6 or 7th • Ketu should be placed in 1,3,5 th house 3. Pratyantar dasha lord should be placed in 1st,3rd or 10th house • Sun should be preferably placed in 1st ,3rd or 10 th house • Moon should be placed in 7,8,9,11 th houses • Mrs should be placed in 3rd,7th house • mercury should be placed in 1st,2nd ,3rd • jupiter should be placed in 9th,11th • venus should be placed in 12th • saturn should be placed in 1,6,10th • Rahu should be placed in 8th • Ketu should be placed in 4,6 th house 4. Combinations that were found to give one of the best results • In the M.D of Ketu-Antardasha should be of mercury or venus • In the M.D of Venus-Antardasha should be of mercury or saturn

• In the M.D of Sun-Antardasha should be of mercury ,rahu, jupiter or saturn • In the M.D of Moon-Antardasha should be of Rahu • In the M.D of Mars-Antardasha should be of saturn • In the M.D of Rahu-Antardasha should be of mercury and venus • In the M.D of Jupiter-Antardasha should be of jupiter and venus • In the M.D of Saturn-Antardasha should be of saturn • In the M.D of Mercury-Antardasha should be of mercury • In vedic texts it is said that most planets in their mahadasha -antardasha combination dont give much results which does not seen true considering points h nad i. • Mahadasha of sun is most favourable Antardasha of mercury is most favourable Pratyantardasha of sun is most favourable

#On the basis of conjuction of M.D/A.D/P.D lord with other planets in the natal chart

Vastu Tips

By Pt. Gopal Sharma

Oranges have been considered extremely sacred and lucky in Feng-shui. According to the Chinese the orange is known as Kum which means gold. Every girl wants to get a good husband. Even the parents want that their daughter should get a good husband. For the accomplishment of this objective the method of use of use of oranges has been described in detail in this article.

Bring beautiful oranges on the Full Moon day and keep them in twos & threes in every room of the house. At night, pick up these oranges in the full moonlight and immerse these in a river, pond or a lake. Keep your eyes closed while immersing these oranges in the water and concentrate your mind on the imagined qualities of your desired husband. After immersing the oranges in the water, go back home and sleep soundly. This experiment should be carried on, on every Full Moon night till your desire is fulfilled. Immersing the oranges in the water has been considered as an auspicious sign. If you have no river in the vicinity of your house, use the pond or the sea in its place. In Feng-shui, this experiment is considered to be an unfailing experiment. To get an eligible and desired husband, young girls must use this experiment for success. This experiment can be undertaken by both young men and women to attract somebody towards themselves, to enhance romance or love, or to produce deep love between the husband and the wife or between lovers.

Candles For Romance

Light up red or yellow candles in the south- western corner of every room of your house on the Full Moon night. These candles awaken the Chi energy according to Fengshui. Never light up white or black candles as these bring about the opposite effect and destroy the Chi energy. You can also undertake the following experiment on the Full Moon night to enhance the auspicious Chi energy : Fill a broad and deep vessel with water. Light up three red and two yellow candles shaped liked the earthen lamps and let them swim in the water of this vessel. If you have any precious stone like topaz, emerald, sapphire, ruby, pearl and diamond, etc., then take any seven precious stones out of these and put them into the water. Now, take a small piece of wood and anyone flower (rose, marigold, jasmine, etc.) and put them into the water. Also, put your golden ring or a piece of gold in the water. Keep this vessel on the table in South East of the drawing room and see its effect. This vessel represents the five elements of the cosmos. The lighted-up candles represent

the fire-element, the precious stones or pieces of stone represent the earth-element, water represents the water-element and the piece of wood represents the woodelement. In this way, the living Chi energy of the cosmos produces a magical effect in your house. At this time, call any person you want to attract to yourself, to your house and see the effect of the Chi energy. This experiment should be conducted on every Full Moon night. Along with an increase in romance and love, this experiment will also make it possible for you to get your desired work done by the invited persons. When some special guests or friends come to your house, then you must do this experiment and see the favourable flow of the Chi energy.

Precaution

The precious stones give a good effect but if they are not available, you can also use seven small pieces of stone in the water. This experiment should always be conducted to increase the Sacred love only. It should never be used for undesirable activities. If it is used for undesirable activities, then it can give the opposite results.

Enhance Your Love Using The Crystal

The crystal or the quartz is considered to be a good source of positive energy. Therefore, it is used for enhancing positive energy. In the Reiki treatment, the crystal is used extensively. The crystal has an important place In Feng-shui too. The crystal is a splendid medium of enhancing the energy of the earth-element of the house :- The crystal when kept in the South-western corner of the house, maintains love and understanding among the different members of the family. The crystal kept in this direction of the house makes the Chi energy of this area extremely effective and positive which leads to an enhancement of love between the husband and the wife or the lovers. If any young woman is not being able to get married, she must bring this remedy in use. In this way, she can definitely get a good lifepartner under the effect of the Chi energy. For this, it is necessary that the South-western corner of the house should be energised by putting up many big crystals & Rose Quartz Grapes etc. On a table in the South-western corner of the house, keep big crystals, crystal balls, crystal grapes & heart- shaped crystals/rose quartz. Directly over these crystals, keep a table-lamp or a lighted-up bulb. This will help to keep the crystals highly energised and maintain a constant flow of the Chi energy of love.

Special

If the crystals are small, then arrange them in the shape of a necklace and wear them round the neck. Remember that small crystals are meant to be worn in the form of a necklace and not for keeping in a corner of the house. Never allow anybody to touch your crystals. Remember that you should a} ways think positively when you are close to the crystals. If you fight, quarrel or talk negatively in the room in which the crystals have been kept, then they begin to give off negative energy and in such a situation, it becomes necessary to make the crystals pure again. To do this, wash the crystals properly in salt-water and then, keep them in the sunlight for 3-4 hours. If the rainy season is going on at such a time, then keep the crystals in a deep thali and keep them on the roof. The lightning flashing across the sky will fill these crystals with living energy. This is the best way to energise the crystals. By keeping the crystal &. rose quartz in the South-western corner of the house, you definitely make the land-energy of your house very effective and this increases the feelings of brotherhood, unity and understanding among the various members of the family.

Vases-The Symbol of Love and Romance

Vases and the flowers kept in them, give a pleasant atmosphere to the house and its environment. In Feng-Shui, the act of decorating the house with vases or pots of China clay etc. is given a lot of importance. These vases not only help to maintain peace and understanding in the family, but they also enhance love and romance. It is not necessary that the flowers decorated in the vases should be natural-they can be silk flowers also. Decorate the vase with colourful flowers of your choice. Keep on changing them according to the seasons. If you choose flowers according to the directions, then you get fast and desired gains. In the western direction, keep the white flowers of your choice in a white Coloured vase only. In the northern direction, decorate the vase with blue and purple flowers. Red, pink and other flowers should be decorated in the vase in the Southern direction. In the South-western and North-eastern directions, keep yellow flowers in the vase. Never keep the vase in the kitchen or toilets. In the bedroom, fresh flowers or the vase decorated with fresh flowers should not be kept. In Feng-shui, this is not considered to be luck-enhancing. In order to maintain love, understanding and peace in the house between the husband and the wife as well as the children, put in a big vase one feet long, thin wings of the palm tree and bamboo. Keep this vase in the centre of the drawing room or in the Southwestern corner. This positive Chi energy of Feng-shui makes the husband and the wife as well as their children especially lucky. You can put a symbol of Om, swastik, holy cross, crystal, gold or silver coins, or precious stones, etc. in the vase and keep it anywhere in the house except the kitchen and the toilet. This vase will be like a manifestation of Goddess Lakshmi.

Made for Each Other

It is essential that there is love and peace in the marital life. By adopting the instructions of Feng-shui, you can live your life by increasing the mutual love in the family. Light up red or yellow candles, a red lantern or a red lamp in the South-western corner of the drawing room of your house. This will produce the Yang energy of Feng-shui in the house which leads to love and peace in the family. In the South-western direction, put up crystal balls and symbols of double happiness along with rose quartz grapes. In the Southwestern corner of the house, keep pairs of love-birds, swans or Mandarian ducks. On the South-western wall of the house, put up such picture of a high mountain that does not have any river, lake or waterfall. This will increase stability in the family. You can also make your marital relations more loving by keeping the following points in your mind while sleeping in the bedroom. By keeping the bed in the South-western corner of the house, you can give stability to your relationship. The presence of a mirror in the bedroom brings about tension and separation. If the mirror is along the North-east or Northeastern wall, it may bring gains, fame and prosperity during the day but at night while sleeping, the organ of the body which is reflected in the mirror, may get afflicted with some problem. If you sleep with your head towards your lucky direction, it can make your life healthy and happy. If you keep the computer and the TV in the bedroom, then this can create disharmony in your marital life. Never sleep directly under the beam of the ceiling. It can cause headaches, tension and disharmony. If you keep an aquarium or any other object of decoration that is a collection of water in the bed- room, then it can lead to unsteadiness or fickleness and there is the fear of a third person coming in between the husband and the wife. r

He was born of Parvati's body elements. The idols and temples of Lord Vinayaka are found all over the world. In the South Indian villages there are many temples exclusively for the worship of Vinayaka but there is no village where he does not exist. He is considered as the first God to be worshiped. The worship of Vinayaka is not only popular among the Hindus, but also among Jains and Buddhists. Ganapati worship is popular in far eastern countries like Indochina, Cambodia, Japan and other adjacent countries. Ganapathi Homam / Pooja is a precondition for the performance of any religious function.

Lord Muruga

Lord Muruga is heralded in Hinduism in several names including Skanda, Karthikeya, Subrahmanya, Shanmukha, Shaktidhara, Kumara and many others. The iconography of Lord Muruga is represented with six faces and twelve hands with the five faces depicting the five elements of nature and he sixth face referring to the spirit that activates all of them. Hindu god forms are rather symbols of what they teach humans. Each of the god forms is based on a lofty philosophy that drives home several spiritual truths and moral values. The two wives of Lord Murugan are also rather symbols that teach humans the ultimate purpose of human life. The two wives of Lord Muruga namely Valli and Devasena refer to icha shakti and kriya shakti, meaning the power of will and power of action respectively, while Lord Muruga represents Gnana Shakti or the power of wisdom. In her earlier birth, Valli was the daughter of Lord Vishnu and she undertook a severe penance to get married to Lord Murugan. Devasena was in her previous birth the daughter of Indra, the king of gods, who too did an austere penance to get wedded to Lord Murugan.

Shiva (Sanskrit: Auspicious One) is one of the main deities of Hinduism that is worshipped as the paramount lord by the Shaivaite sects of India. In Hinduism, Lord Shiva is regarded as the representation of the Supreme Being. He is known as the third element in the Hindu Trinity (Trimurti), the other two members being Lord Brahma - the creator and Lord Vishnu - the protector. Shiva is the destructive form of the Almighty. As the cycle of destruction and recreation is always in a circle, Shiva’s primary responsibility is maintaining the life cycle. Scholars say, as the Mahakaal, Shiva destroys and dissolves everything into nothingness but as Shankara, he also reproduces that which has been destroyed and dissolved. His symbol of Lingam or the phallus represents this reproductive power.

Lord Vishnu

Vishnu is a Hindu god, the Supreme God of Vaishnavism (one of the three principal denominations of Hinduism) and one of the three supreme deities (Trimurti) of Hinduism. Vishnu is one of the most important gods in the Hindu pantheon and, along with Brahma and Shiva, is considered a member of the holy trinity (trimurti) of Hinduism. He is the most important god of Vaishnavism, the largest Hindu sect. Indeed, to illustrate Vishnu’s superior status, Brahma is, in some accounts, considered to have been born from a lotus flower which grew from Vishnu’s naval. A complex character, Vishnu is the Preserver and guardian of men (Narayana), he protects the order of things (dharma) and, when necessary, he appears on earth in various incarnations or avatars to fight demons and fierce creatures and so maintain cosmic harmony. Vishnu represents Sattvaguna and is the centripetal force as it were, responsible for sustenance, protection and maintenance of the created universe.

In early Hindu sources such as the Mahabharata, Brahma is supreme in the triad of great Hindu gods which includes Shiva and Vishnu. In later Puranas (Hindu epics) Brahma is no longer worshipped and other gods are assigned his myths, even if he always maintains his status as the Creator god. Brahma's epithet is ekahamsa, the One Swan. His vahanam ('vehicle') is a peacock, swan or goose. He is still honoured today with

Along with Lakshmi (goddess of wealth and prosperity) and Saraswati (goddess of knowledge and learning), she forms the trinity of Hindu goddesses same as god trinity of Shiva Vishnu and Brahma. Parvata is one of the Sanskrit words for “mountain”; “Parvati” derives her name from being the daughter of king Himavan (also called Himavat, Parvat) and mother Mena. King Parvat is considered lord of the mountains and the personification of the Himalayas; Parvati implies “she of the mountain”.

Significance of Indrani

Indrani is portrayed as a woman of incomparable beauty, whose charm virtually no one could resist. Her exquisite eyes too have come in for special praise. Contrary to many other Goddesses, she has an independent character of her own. Also, unlike many godly consorts, who take their names from those of their husbands, like Varuni from Varuna, Saranya from Surya etc., it is Indra, who is often referred to as ShachiPathi, the Lord or husband of Shachi or as ShachiVat, Shachi’s possessor. Indrani, the ‘endless beauty’, was very dear to Indra indeed. She also mothered many children like Jayanta, Jayanthi, Midhusa, Nilambara etc. Chitragupta, the well-known and feared aide of Lord Yama, who is said to keep a meticulous record of our good and bad actions, is also her son only.

Guru Raghavendra Swamy

Hundreds of years ago, saints and sages used to perform tough penance and attained wisdom, blessings from God and their life’s motive was to preach devotion towards the Almighty and help people in understanding the true meaning of life. This is why saints were highly respected and some saints were even deemed as God’s incarnation. One such saint who lived during the 16th century and was considered God by many people owing to his several miraculous blessings and work was God Sri Raghavendra Swamy. Born with the name Sri Venkata Natha in the town of Bhuvanagiri in Tamil Nadu, Sri Raghavendra Swamy was a famous Madhwa saint, philosopher and advocated the Dwaita philosophy. Since he was an ardent devotee of Lord Vishnu or Sri Venkateshwara, he was also called Venkatacharya. After completing his initial education, Sri Venkat Natha was admitted in a matha or temple in Kumbakonam. He was then married to Sarasvati Bai and had a son named Lakshminarayanacharya. Having studied under the expert guidance of Sudheendra Theertha in Kumbakonam, he emerged as a talented scholar. It was in 1614 that he took sanyasa and was given the name Raghavendra Theertha. He is said to have established a Brindavana at Mantralayam where he took Samadhi, located presently in Andhra Pradesh, which is now a popular pilgrimage destination. In his quest of attaining higher spiritual plane, Sri Raghavendra Swamy never let his life’s struggles deter his faith in the Lord. He never demanded any money for teaching

Sanskrit and vedic texts to children nor for his welfare services and this is the reason why he and his family endured a life of poverty. He was bestowed a long divine life that was full of miracles and had healing powers for the welfare of humanity. His miracles are so enormous that people even today chant two powerful lines of his stotra –“Poojyaya Raghavendraya Sathya Dharma Ratha Yacha

Bajatham Kalpavrukshaya Namatham Kamadenuve.”

This hymn means that the worship of Sri Raghavendra Swamy who is a living example of truth and righteousness (sathya and dharma) blesses with whatever blessing one desires such the Kalpavruksha (the celestial tree) and Kamadhenu (the celestial cow). It is believed that chanting this hymn for several times a day with concentration and sacred mind can eliminate all kinds of ills and problems in life.

Shirdi Sai Baba

Sai Baba of Shirdi, also known as Shirdi Sai Baba, was an Indian spiritual master who is regarded by his devotees as a saint, a fakir, a satguru and an incarnation (avatar) of Lord Shiva and Dattatreya. He is revered by both his Hindu and Muslim devotees during, as well as after his lifetime. Saibaba is now revered as incarnation of Sri Dattatreya and considered as Saguna Brahma. He is attributed to be the creator, sustainer and destroyer of this universe by his devotees. He is decorated with jewels and all forms of Hindu vedic deities as he is believed by his followers to be the supreme God. According to accounts from his life, he preached the importance of realization of the self and criticized love towards perishable things. His teachings concentrate on a moral code of love, forgiveness, helping others, charity, contentment, inner peace and devotion to the God and guru. He stressed the importance of surrender to the true Satguru, who, having trod the path to divine consciousness, will lead the disciple through the jungle of spiritual training. Sai Baba also condemned distinction based on religion or caste. It remains unclear if he was a Muslim or a Hindu. This, however, was of no consequence to Sai Baba. His teaching combined elements of Hinduism and Islam: he gave the Hindu name Dwarakamayi to the mosque in which he lived, practised both Hindu and Muslim rituals, taught using words and figures that drew from both traditions and took samadhi in Shirdi. One of his wellknown epigrams, Allah Malik (God is King) and Sabka Malik Ek (Everyone's Master is One), is associated with both Hinduism and Islam. He is also known to have said Look to me, and I shall look to you.

Ramakrishna Paramahamsa

Reiki Can Help To Heal Your Life

My most important discovery with Reiki was that it actually worked. It was tangible (I could feel a sensation in my Palms) and I got results (often an incredible before and after effect). No special abilities are required to learn it and after an attunement, everyone will develop the trademark feature of Reiki, healing hands.

Using it on a daily basis, through my surprise got even bigger. Reiki worked on every aspect of my life, from the physical to the psychological, from changing life circumstances to a deeper spiritual understanding. Reiki goes well beyond what expected when it was introduced as an' energy healing practice'. Or maybe, my understanding was simple too limited , after all energy really means that everything is interconnected and can move and transform. Healing doesn't just apply to the physical but includes a complete holistic view. And Reiki is not just a Therapy but indeed a personal spiritual practice. In fact, this is how it all started: a connection to higher levels of consciousness, discovered in the early 20th century by Japanese scholar Mikao Usui as the result of a deep meditation practice.

Here are my top Ten Ways Reiki Can heal our life: 1). Physical Healing

Reiki promotes physical healing and overall well being and can be used for any illness. Pain is often significantly reduced and the healing process accelerated. It is completely safe and there are no cautions or contraindications,no matter if you use it on a little cut from a kitchen knife or to treat a cancer patient.

By Dr. Amit Kumar Ram

2).Complimentary Allopathic Medicine

There is no need to use Reiki instead of conventional therapies. It perfectly complements them and even reduces side effects of medication. Now accepts Reiki in Hospitals.

3). Pets, Plants, Food

My dog loves Reiki, One of my Students treated a bumble bee until she could fly again and my near-- dead chilli plant turned out an almost industrial of hot peppers. You can also use it while cooking or charge a ready made meal.

4). Inanimate objects

Whether it is a dish washer, power drill, computer, printer or car-- nothing is immune to Reiki.

5). Difficult Situations

Just think of a situation and intend to sent Reiki to it. Or connect to the energy before you go into a meeting. I am sure it will run more smoothly.

6). Harmony And Balance

Reiki helps to relax and allows us to deal with anxiety, depression and emotional problems. We feel more balanced and calm-- and it can do wonders if we have a problem in our relationship.

7). Courage And Strength

" I left my old job", " I finally had a word with my boss", " I now have the energy to follow my dream."

These are some of the many stories I hear from students after learning Reiki.

8). Hightening Intuition

" Where did this mart idea suddenly come from?" Reiki open us to the realm of intuition, Guidance and cleartivity. Not just a few Reiki students were able to develop amazing psychic abilities.

9). Understanding The Universe:

Using Reiki ( which can be translated as universal or spiritual life force energy) we connect to something beyond what we can grasp with our five senses. You may call it the Universe,God, Love or just energy, in Reiki it is often felt as the light.

10). Helping Others:

Is there anything more fulfilling than being able to help others? With Reiki we can! Rather than leaving it to the ' professional' , everyone attuned to Reiki can give treatments, you can treat your colleagues's headache, help a chronically ill relative or give Reiki to your neighbor's dog. Reiki turns empathy in to practice. Sounds too good to be true? Well, I thought so,too. Until I started to witness it on a daily basis in my own life. If you practice Reiki already,I am certain you agree. If you are new to Reiki and intrigued, why not have a treatment or even learn it for yourself. r

Mantra

By Punit Vora

Since macrocosm and microcosm are the two poles of the same energy principle, our sages evolved a technique which could connect the two through one medium . They called it Mantra. Mantra is the first principle which works in accordance with the cosmic energy in ether. The Sanskrit word for contemplation is Manana and the tool or medium for Manana is Mantra. Mantra has also been called so because it is repeated in the secrecy of one's mind and is capable of capturing the source of infinite energy through chanting. It could be said that Mantras are sacred utterances ( syllables, words, or verses ) that are considered to possess mystical or spiritual efficacy. Various mantras are either spoken aloud or merely sounded internally in one's thoughts, and they are either repeated continuously for some time or just sounded once. Most mantras are without any apparent verbal meaning, but they are thought to have a profound underlying significance and are, in effect, distillations of spiritual wisdom. Thus, repetition or meditation on a particular Mantra can induce a trance like state in the person and can lead him to a higher level of spiritual awareness. Besides bringing spiritual enlightenment, different kinds of mantras are used to work other psychic or spiritual purposes, such as protecting oneself from evil psychic powers. There is wonderfully miraculous usefulness of the mantras if they are repeated in the proper manner and the injunctions regarding the modes of their application and practice are strictly observed .In all our rituals, chanting of Mantras is an essential feature. The Vedas, especially the Rig- Veda, contain thousands of mantras. These mantras, we believe, are effective by mere repetition, if we even do not know the meanings thereof. In fact, the literal meaning of the words has nothing to do with regard to realisation of the desires. Mantras have four fold powers which are considered as four pillars of this shastra which are under : 1) Power as the supreme authority 2) Power of yielding the desired results 3) Amplifying the productive power 4) A comprehensive gripping capacity The chanting of mantras stirs our nerves and awakens them for suitable action in accordance with the desired achievement. The system of grammar has perfected its idea of sound as Brahman itself, the Supreme Being, and the imperishable one. Classics say that mantras are sounds which originated from the five faces of lord shiva in different forms . The basics of mantra i.e, shabda, is more ancient than any thing which was subtle in form. It could be said that shabda, the sound was born before deity and human beings. It is said that sound leaves its impact on common human being from heart to soul . In philosophy of Paanini it was said that Sabda is Brahm. Since Vedic period a lot of research has been done by our seers on this aspect and discovered that creation of many things is based on sound .Sound is classified as Sphota, Nada, Anahata, and Ahata. Before the listener experiances a mantra perfectly it has to pass four stages known as para, pashyanti , madhyama and vaikhari. These four levels of sound correspond to four states of consciousness. Para represents the supernatural element in experiencing consciousness. It indicates

sound is beyond the perception of the senses. Pashyanti represents the intellectual consciousness and considered to be the first precipitate of speech where power of will exists. Madhyama represents the mental consciousness and power of knowledge. In addition , Vaikhari represents the physical consciousness. To sum up, vaikhari is the gross quality of the vocal organs, madhyama is the subtler quality of the same physical organs, pashyanti is the quality of the subconscious , and para is the quality of the pure conscious. Mantra, Yantras and Astrology are complimentary to each other . It is said that astrology is the eyes of Hinduism and mantra is its heart . Astrology facilitates to look into the problems, mantras invokes their remedies. No doubt , if mantras are practised in letter and spirit , they give fruits as per the devotees desires. It is said that all human problems are created by the person on his own, the basis of which is always his/ her Karmas ( deeds ). It is believed that mantras are a form of energy which leads to attainment of God. Through mantras one can obtain every thing which he desires . It is the way to invite God and tell him the problems being faced by the devotee. It is advised that the Mantra anusthans ( rituals) should be done strictly to reap the maximum benefits. Through the mantras one can control and get relief from diseases. Keeping desires in view and repetition of mantras creates deeper and deeper impression on the mental plane , viz. conscious mind becomes saturated with impression . Thereafter the power of mantra moves to the subconscious mind, hearing the singing of mantras in an uninterrupted way. Breathing will also become thinner , which will create an impression on subconscious mind . It may be noted here that the correct recitation of words of mantras should be practiced. According to tantra the mantras are categorised in three genders. The mantras could be categorised as masculine, feminine and neutral mantras . All these mantras enjoy equal powers and are no way inferior to each other. If a Mantra ends with swah then it is called feminine Mantra. Such mantras are mostly used for menial aim and considered best . Namah is suffixed at the end of the neutral mantras. These mantras are mostly used for the purpose of magic and enmity. In tantras it is mentioned that if the Mantra is having hum phat at its end then the Mantra is automatically masculine and if there is hum- namah then it is neutral. Mantras are of two types, hot and cold. As per yoga tantra when we breathe only one of our nostrils is active. When hot air is blowing through the nostrils exuberantly then Surya nadi is active during which hot mantras should be chanted . Hot mantras are known as Agneya in Sanskrit language which are used for destruction purposes. When cold air is blowing through the nostrils exuberantly then Chandra nadi is active during which cold mantras should be chanted which are known as Saumya in Sanskrit language . Saumya mantras are used for good purposes. The basic difference told in the classics about these two categories of Mantra is their suffix. When any Mantra is ending with pranava it is called Agneya mantra and if the mantra is ending with namah then it is Saumya mantra. " Classics says that any Saumya mantra can be converted to Agneya by adding phat at the end of it and Agneya can be converted into a Saumya one by adding namah at the end of it ". It is known that Mantras are of different types. The devotee is always found in a dilemma which mantra he should practice to reap maximum benefits . Such cases are seen that if an individual worships mantra he doen't get success at all but instead of getting success he suffers . So before practicing any mantra please know which mantra is suitable for you, it suits your energy

seek advice from Mantra master / guru/ astrologer . World is made up of five elements such as air, water, fire, earth, and sky our body also contains these matter in proportion. Mantras can alter / increase or decrease these elements causing benefits or harm . Om, an enduring syllable is a mystic and prehistoric cosmic sound. It is considered the most comprehensive , universal, non- personal , holy- sound symbol and signifier of the supreme infinite divine reality. It is the seed of all the mantras. Combination of shiva and shakti is supreme power and this power is very much present in the galaxy. Mandukya Upnishad says that past, present and future all that is Om. Om is combination of five elements which are known as fire, water, air, sky and earth. These five elements are present in the world everywhere . When these five powers combine, this universe was born. This is the mantra of creation of universe. It is said that it is used as synonym for Brahm. Om manifests as the totality of existance, from the external most physical to the internal most spiritual , on four cosmic planes, macrocosmic as well as microcosmic which can be further divided as under : 1. The gross or physical 2. The subtle or physical 3. The potential or casual 4. The transcendental or meta- phenomenal which is the source of the first three. Om is lord Shiva's soul it is originated from five faces of Shiva . This mantra Om is considered as soul of Lord Shiva .

The Tarot Deck Structure

The Tarot consists of seventy eight cards, which are divided into two sections: the Major and Minor Arcana. Together, they describe virtually every experience we are likely to meet in life. Such as birth and death, marriage and separation, beginnings and endings, friendship and enmity, prosperity and impoverishment.

By Rrachita Gupta 'Ravera'

Major Arcana : The Deck consists of 22 Major Arcana Cards numbered through 0 to 21. The 0 card is the beginning of the journey and is represented by the FOOL card. Some traditions may take the Fool Card as beginning of the next cycle and hence number it as 22. So the Deck begins with Number 1 card, the Magician for them and culminates in Card 22, the Fool. However in the Rider-Waite paradigm, the 0 represents the Fool and the 21 represents the World. The Major Arcana cards are associated with one or the other Zodiac Signs or the Celestial Planets. Each of the cards will speak to you in the language of its words that will awaken your Subconscious, which is deeper and truer and more submerged than the Conscious Mind and elicit responses and emotions in you. The 22 Major Arcana depict a person’s PATH THROUGH LIFE. With all the stages that are encountered along the way, this is essentially a journey of initiation or self-discovery. The Major Arcana contain figures that act as ARCHETYPE, such as a Magician or a Hermit or an Empress. The Archetype is one of the secrets why human minds across the world relate so effortlessly and intuitively to the Tarot cards. These tend to represent certain characters and qualities that we have all encountered in real life. They contain certain attributes that are universally recognised. The illustrations on each card include symbols that expand on the meaning of that particular card and act as TRIGGERS to your unconscious, prompting an understanding that goes much deeper than the evident message. As your proficiency with Tarot increases, and more you are attuned with your cards as well as your Interpretation power, the more you will be delighted by the depth and richness of your readings. Minor Arcana : To give sustenance and substance to this allegorical journey of the Fool through the Major Arcana sojourn are the Minor Arcana Cards. Carl Jung, the Father of Esoteric Psychology, developed a psychological version of the four elements. Fire becomes Intuition, Water Feeling, Air Thinking, and Earth Sensation. Jung considered these as primary means through which people experience the World. The Minor Arcana consists of 56 cards that are categorised into 4 suits of 14 cards each. The 4 suits are also referred to as the 4 Elemental Groups. • Wands • Cups • Swords • Pentacles Cards 1-10 are called Numbered Cards and then there are the Court Cards for each suit numbering 4 and termed as the Page, Knight, Queen and King of that particular suit. To clarify this nomenclature there would be in Cups Suit, Numbered cards viz. Ace of Cups-Two of Cups-Three of Cups-Four of Cups-Five of Cups-Six of Cups-Seven of Cups-Eight of Cups-Nine of Cups-Ten of Cups. Court Cards viz. Page of Cups-Knight of Cups-Queen of Cups-King of Cups While the Major Arcana describes the major transit points in the journey of life, the Minor Arcana cards describe the bylanes and the meanderings of daily interaction. The Minor Arcana portray the mundane details of our existence. The numbered cards Aces to Tens, also called Pip Cards in European tarot vocabulary, describe the

various stages that we meet in life, from the inception of an idea or venture, through its challenges, to its completion. The Court Cards have a dual meaning, because they can refer to either a situation or a person. When several court cards appear in a spread, they indicate that the influence of several other people needs to be analyzed. They are directly or indirectly, trying to affect the situation or its outcome. The Minor Arcana consists of 56 cards. They are composed of 4 suits called Wands, Swords, Cups and Pentacles. The 4 suits correspond with the 4 elements while the 22 Major Arcanas correspond to the all pervasive Akasha (Ether) element. The 5th Element, the Ether is the all encompassing tattva or element and is alluded in properties to be covering the 22 Major Arcana cards as they provide the umbrella inclusiveness of the human experience on a macro level. The correspondence of the Tarot suits with the elemental energies is as follows:

Tarot Suit

Wands Swords

Elemental Energy

Fire element Air element Cups Water element Pentacles/Coins Earth element

Major Arcanas Represent The Unifying Element of Ether/Akasha

This association will be discussed more in the section of ASTROLOGICAL LINKAGES OF TAROT(Book 2) as each of the 4 elements represents Zodiac signs and planets too. The Minor Arcana suits are also connected with key functions of Life and Astrological signs as below :

Tarot Suit Life Aspect Zodiac Sign

Wands Action Aries. Leo, Sagittarius Cups Emotions Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces

Tarot Suit Life Aspect Zodiac Sign

Swords Intellect Gemini, Libra, Aquarius

Pentacles Finance/ Wealth

Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn Each of the four suits has a unique Energy and unique character of its own. Wands : Wands are connected with movement and travel, whether it is mental, physical or spiritual. It is connected with the human qualities of daring, adventure, risk and speculation. Negotiations, adventures, gambles, innovations, dreams to expand and grow all come under the umbrella of this suit. Wands also govern the central guiding force of one’s life such as Putting career over family first, choosing to tend to family over personal pursuits, ambition, gestating a creative path, following the fire of the heart and doing that which enthuses. Wands correspond to the astrological element of Fire so may have links or relate to qualities of people under the Zodiac influence of Aries, Leo and Sagittarius. An emphasis on Wands in a spread indicates that the querist is bold and expansive in his mind and is capable of leadership and risks. The element of risk may sometimes be excess in proportion to what is sensible. Cups : This suit rules the realm of emotions and love, in all their versatile glory. It governs relationships between friends, colleagues and relatives as well as lovers. Cups are also associated with all forms of creativity and fertility, whether it is birth of a child, the development of a talent or the abundance of nature. They also rule the Unconscious and our deeper, unexpressed emotional self. Cups correspond to the astrological element of Water, so tend to have links or relate to qualities of people under the Zodiac influence of Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces. An emphasis on Cups in a spread indicates that the querist, or the person having the reading, is very emotionally involved in the

situation and may therefore lack objectivity. Swords : Much akin to its physical prototype, the Sword is double edged. This suit rules words and thoughts, which can be constructive or destructive. They can be positive or negative. They govern the world of the intellect and the analytics. They rule brilliant ideas as well as worries and tensions. They rule healing words as well as sarcasm and insults. They are connected with all forms of mental and intellectual activity, and all types of communication such as letters, correspondence, emails, phone conversations, internet related, mass media, mobile texting and messaging, social media, print publications, e-publications, verbal and non-verbal communications. Swords are immensely rational and logical and tend to have links or relate to qualities of people under the Zodiac influence of Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces. An emphasis on Swords in a spread indicates recurring mental issues, problems, over analysis, inclination to conflict rather than collaborate. Pentacles : Pentacles are connected with all material matters, such as money, property, career and status, business, plantations and factories, bank balance, savings and investments. Pentacles bring under their ambit anything that has value to the querist. They are deeply rooted in the physical reality and govern things we can see, feel, hold and touch rather than anything we can only feel or imagine. They therefore rule the five senses. The symbol of Pentacle is very powerful. It represents grounding of vision in reality. Manifestation of spiritual will in physical form. This suit also controls practical commitments and daily routine work. It controls our efforts and the dedication one puts towards initiating and sustaining a value-based idea/project. Pentacles correspond to the astrological element of the Earth, so tend to have links or relate to qualities of people under the Zodiac influence of Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn. An emphasis on Pentacles in a spread indicates that the situation calls for a systematic and logical approach. Emotions should take a backseat and the querist should observe what is actually happening rather than living in a world of what they want or think should happen.

RIDER WAITE DECK :

This deck structure is most universally accepted. The designs were by Mr Arthur Waite, a member of the occult society Order of the Golden Dawn, in collaboration with the artist Pamela Coleman Smith. It was first published by the Rider Company in 1909. One may occasionally be intimidated by the prospect of learning the meanings and symbols of all the cards of the deck, and additionally to ascribe a coherent meaning out of the reading by understanding a verbalizing the interplay of these complex symbols by putting them together in a spread. However with continued concentration while dealing with the cards and practising with them, one can understand the inherent dynamics. What is of significance is to get a feel for the cards and spend time with them. Tarot Reading is not merely an academic and logical exercise. It awakens our Intuition and our Deeper understanding of human experience. When such a profound process is taking place within us as Tarot Reader/Tarot counsellor, one must learn to relax and trust our Inner voice and connect it with the specifics of the cards pulled out in the spread and then in a sensitive manner apply it to the question that is under the purview. An instinctive understanding of each of these cards and how same card can be applied differently to address different situations has to be developed with dedication and a genuine interest in this deep metaphysical world.

Tarot-Window to the Soul

Preparing Your Mind to Enter This World The art and science of Tarot Reading is powerful and intriguing.

You use the Tarot cards as a way to focus your CLAIRVOYANCE. Think of your conscious mind as a backseat driver. You are driving down an unfamiliar road and if you use the road signs, the celestial navigators of Sun, Moon, stars and your own intuition, you could reach your destination with a minimum of trouble. But the conscious mind is busy chipping in, with advice and instructions that throw you off. You have to give this conscious mind something to process on, as its advice is inevitable and would need to be included, The tarot cards are that powerful coded material that gives your conscious mind the processing material while your subconscious delves deep into your human experience history and connects it with the conscious mind. Of all road maps to self-awareness and spiritual development, the Tarot is the most detailed, yet the most concise, available. It opens your eyes, mentally and spiritually to the mysteries of the Universe and how the Universe works in tandem with Human Will for the highest good of the individual, if we allow it to speak to us. When you have chosen your deck, you can begin your personal interplay with it and learn to delight in it. It will respond most effectively as it begins to respond to your personal energy.
