Welcome From the Head of School Dear Falcon Fans: I love that we generate this program. Not only does its existence and its quality promote powerful school spirit, but also the people who sponsor ads in the program say a great deal about athletics at Fort Worth Country Day. Thanks to all of those supporters of Falcon teams. We have a wonderfully storied history at the School that involves not only championships in the Southwest Preparatory Conference (SPC), but also individual athletes who have taken their experiences from FWCD to the collegiate level, some on club teams others on varsity teams, some for Division I some for Division III programs. For those whose athletic careers stop at graduation to those who continue beyond their days as Falcons, our athletes make us proud for their efforts and their attitudes. As our athletes make us proud, so do our fans. You are reading this because you are one of our Falcon fans. We appreciate your support. Our players beneÀt so much from your enthusiasm. Being a Falcon fan comes with high expectations. We expect you to cheer in support of our players and our teams. We expect you to be respectful of our opponents. We also expect you to be respectful of our referees. There will be good calls and bad calls from those referees. We will beneÀt from some and lose out on others. Welcome From the Athletic Director Welcome to the campus of Fort Worth Country Day. It is hard to believe it is time to begin baseball, golf, lacrosse, softball, tennis and track and Àeld. Here at FWCD and around the nation, high school athletes have been working hard preparing for another season of competition. Athletics at any level can generate excitement, but there is something special about high school sports. Maybe it’s the lasting friendships that are formed or the life lessons and sportsmanship learned from coaches, or the support of the community that comes from caring parents, students and friends that take the excitement to another level. All I know is that the memories created because of high school athletic participation are enduring and our most cherished ones. Remember that competition produces emotional changes for student-athletes and fans alike. Channeling these feelings in positive directions will ensure fair play and sportsmanship by all. All competitors are trying to achieve their goal of winning, but it is important to learn along the way that respect for opponents, character and honor are qualities that create solid citizens. In closing, let me take a moment to thank the many people it takes to produce an athletic program of which everyone can be proud. Thank you to the FWCD administrators, teachers, staff, friends and parents for all of their support. A special thanks to the Falcon Club for all they do. It is greatly appreciated.
