Head of School Dear Athletes, Families and Fans, All of us, faculty, staff, coaches, parents and, especially, our student-athletes, join together to celebrate the return of spring sports to our campus. At Fort Worth Country Day, we believe deeply in the value of our students participating in competitive team sports. In this most unusual year, we are incredibly grateful for the opportunity, once again, that FWCD student-athletes are getting to hone their skills, to work with teammates, and to compete. More than ever, we, at FWCD, are grateful for the simple opportunity to play sports. We are grateful for our opponents and the opportunity they are giving us to enjoy the value of competitive sports. While we love winning, this year, in particular, we are committed to joining together, with fellow Falcons and our opponents, to cherish our participation in baseball, golf, lacrosse, softball, tennis, and track and field. I also would like to take this opportunity to extend a special thank you to Shelley Rains and James Rains for stepping in — and up to — the Interim Athletic Director roles for the 2020-21 academic year. Their commitment, loyalty and love for the Falcons are evident in the work they do each and every day. They have had wonderful success bridging the gap between Brian Phelps and our new Athletic Director, already on duty in so many ways but still at his school in Georgia, Leigh Block. Varsity home games are being livestreamed this season for those who want to cheer on the teams from the comfort of their homes. Visit fwcd.org/athletics and click on Falcon Livestream and check the OUTDOOR option to see a schedule of events. Thank you for supporting our Falcons. Go Falcons.
