NavigatiNg the Future: THE YAcHT cHARTER InDuSTRY ’ S cOuRSE TO SuccESS
As the CEO of FX Yachting, a leading luxury yacht charter company, I have had the privilege of witnessing the evolution of the yacht charter industry over the years. Today, I would like to share my insights on the future of this remarkable sector and the exciting opportunities that lie ahead.
The recent global events have undoubtedly impacted the travel industry, leading to a significant shift in the way people explore and experience the world. Amidst these changes, yacht charters have emerged as a beacon of hope, offering a safe and exclusive way to travel while adhering to social distancing guidelines. This has led to a surge in demand for private yacht experiences, where individuals and families can enjoy the freedom and privacy of their own floating sanctuary.
Looking ahead, we believe that the future of yacht charters is brimming with potential. As travelers seek more personalized and immersive experiences, yacht charters provide a gateway to unexplored destinations and hidden treasures. Far from the crowded tourist hotspots, yacht charters offer the freedom to explore secluded coastlines, pristine beaches, and vibrant marine ecosystems, all while indulging in the luxuries and comforts of a floating villa.
One of the key strengths of the yacht charter industry is its adaptability. Yachts come in various sizes and configurations, catering to the diverse needs and preferences of travelers. Whether it’s a romantic getaway for two, a family vacation, or a corporate event, there is a yacht that can be tailored to accommodate any occasion. This versatility, coupled with the ability to create bespoke itineraries, ensures that every journey is a unique and unforgettable experience.
Sustainability has become an increasingly important consideration for travelers, and the yacht charter industry is no exception. At FX Yachting, we firmly believe in the importance of responsible tourism. Our fleet of crewed catamarans is equipped with state-of-the-art eco-friendly technologies, ensuring a minimal carbon footprint without compromising on luxury or performance. From solar panels to advanced waste management systems, we are committed to preserving the pristine environments we operate in and contributing to a more sustainable future.
As we navigate the future, collaboration will be a key driver of success within the yacht charter industry. By forging partnerships with local communities, governments, and environmental organizations, we can work together to protect and preserve the natural wonders that make yacht charters so extraordinary. It is through these collaborations that we can create a positive impact, fostering economic growth, supporting local livelihoods, and promoting cultural exchange.
In conclusion, the future of the yacht charter industry is bright and promising. With the rise of personalized travel, the demand for exclusive experiences, and the increasing importance of sustainability, yacht charters are well-positioned to meet the evolving needs and desires of today’s travelers. As the CEO of FX Yachting, I am excited to be at the forefront of this industry, continually striving to innovate, inspire, and create unforgettable memories for our clients.
So, whether you dream of exploring the paradisiacal islands of the Caribbean, cruising along the breathtaking coastlines of the Mediterranean, or venturing into the uncharted waters of the Red Sea, the world is your oyster. Embark on a journey of luxury, adventure, and discovery, and let the yacht charter experience take you to new horizons.

SUSTAINABLE SUPErYACHTS SET ExAMPLE FOr PLASTIC FrEE FUTUrE
As the most important resource for human survival, safe drinking water is vital for any yacht at sea.
All yachts need water treatment systems onboard to deal with functions For obvious reasons though, drinkable – or ‘potable’ – water on yachts is subject to scrutiny. It must come from sources that are approved by the relevant health authority, for example, with responsibility for ensuring safety for use falling to the ship’s master or the officer in charge of loading.
For those onboard a yacht at sea, however, bottled water can often seem the safest option, despite the self-evident wasteful use of plastics. One reason can be that the water which apparently meets the searching requirements of best practice does not taste so good.
SUSTAINABLE DrINKING WATEr SOLUTIONS
EPE Yachting, a division of the leading marine environmental protection organisation, Environmental Protection Engineering (EPE) S.A., is on a mission to ensure that guests and crew members alike have no reason to insist on bottled water. EPE Yachting offers a range of environmentally friendly freshwater treatment systems to suit the requirements of individual yachts and enhance sustainability within the sector Tasked with delivering sustainable solutions that fully engage with the needs of the yachting, the division has secured agreements to supply multiple solutions, including a full set of freshwater systems onboard the ELLY Yacht.
The ELLY Yacht is a plastic free catamaran, determined to set an example and champion sustainable yachting practices. Chosen for its holistic approach to sustainable water treatment solutions, EPE Yachting supplied and installed a range of freshwater systems onboard.
The ELLY Yacht now features five innovative water systems –the ALIOS Water Maker, the Hydrasil Dosing System, a compact water softener and the OctoMarine Slimeline Five Stage Filtration System and M70 Soda Tap. Together, the systems not only produce fresh water and ensure it is 100% safe to drink, but they also offer guests still and sparkling mineral water at the touch of a button.
For example, the ALIOS Water Maker, is a reverse osmosis system that produces reliable fresh water from the desalination of sea water. The system has been designed to suit all sizes of modern superyachts, while remaining compact, making it ideal for both retrofits and newbuilds. It also features automated back flushing with fresh water which not only prolongs the life of the membranes, but ensures the fresh water produced is free of any unwanted substances.
The Hydrasil Dosing System is used to sterilize fresh water to make it 100% safe, and the compact softener softens incoming water from the dock by removing excess calcium and magnesium.
sustainaBilitY FX YACHTING 20
COOL rUNNING WATEr sYsTEm
The Slimline Five Stage Filtration System and M70 Soda Tap are some of the latest additions to the EPE Yachting product portfolio. Manufactured by OctoMarine, the systems are supplied by EPE Yachting on an exclusive distributor basis in Greece. The two systems allow yachts to be completely self-sufficient by ensuring there is always high-quality, fresh mineral water available to drink onboard.
Easily plumbed into the yacht’s freshwater tank, the Slim Line System has been designed specifically to provide an alternative to bottled water by producing high quality mineral water from seawater using a unique five-stage filtration process.
Supplied with a potable water faucet, and at only 350mm x 380mm x 80mm, the system has
a very small footprint and can be easily installed in a cupboard, for example, to provide instant access to fresh mineral water onboard and on the spot water treatment.
The M70 Soda system can also be installed alongside water filtration units, such as the Slim Line and ALIOS systems to provide unlimited ambient, chilled or sparkling water on tap, completely eradicating the need for bottled water.
With regulations tightening and guests increasingly expecting sustainability measures to be proactive, a 360-degree approach to environmental protection is becoming essential. This needs to focus on technology and solutions that minimise environmental impact without compromising quality and guest experiences, with many yacht owners now expressing a desire for products that promote sustainable yachting practices.

ChARTER YAChT BROkERs AssOCIATION GOING GrEEN TO SAVE THE BLUE!
CYBA (Charter Yacht Brokers Association, International, Inc.) is dedicated to upholding a strong standard of professionalism within the Yacht Charter Industry.
We live and work in the planet’s most awe-inspiring environment, the ocean. The Charter Yacht Broker’s Association, (CYBA International), encourages you to learn more about how we can all pitch in to keep our industry thriving and our destinations desirable.
The Charter Yacht Brokers Association is leading a collaborative effort to reduce the use of plastic water bottles on charter yachts throughout the world.
Many of the pristine areas where charter yachts operate have no means of recycling. All trash ends up in the landfills. Plastic bottles are especially problematic as they can take over 400 years to decompose. Most luxury yachts are capable of providing pure, filtered water made by their watermakers. By offering the yacht’s drinkable purified water, together we can prevent millions of plastic bottles from going into the landfills.
CYBA invites you to explore our efforts in safeguarding the environment and ensuring the continued prosperity of our industry. One of their initiatives includes sponsoring the Designer Water Contest at charter exhibitions in the Caribbean, United States, and Greece. We are particularly excited about
organizing this contest at the first EMMYS Show in Poros, Greece, the previous May.
FX Yachting has been an active member since 2021.
It is worth mentioning that our CEO, Barbara Gabriel, participated as judge to the Water Competition in Antugua Yacht Show 2022 and 2023.
The primary goal of this competition is to draw attention to the advantages of minimizing the use of disposable plastics.
Encourage yachts to add details regarding their green initiatives and systems to their e-brochures. Support yachts that are making an initiative to be environmentally possible as much as possible.
We collaborate with our industry associates and chartering communities to promote Going Green initiatives within the Charter Yacht Industry. We welcome you to join in our efforts and hope you find our resources and initiatives beneficial. Let’s work together in Going Green to Save the Blue!
Together we will save the blue!

Our first captain! george Kourtelis m/Y
George Kourtelis was the captain of our first crewed catamaran in 1998! From that moment the connection was magical, and a great collaboration and friendship started, which is still going on! Let’s hear some highlighting from George!
1) When did he met our CEO Barbara Gabriel?
I know Barbara since 1989. My father was running a sailing company in Alimos marina in Athens. So, I spent a lot of time on the piers, helping him and later skippering for him and other companies. Back then, Barbara used to work for bareboats, doing the paper work and taking care of guests and she was the most impressive girl in the harbour! Everyone knew and loved her!
2) How did the cooperation started? In 1998, we finally started working together occasionally and we became close friends through our meeting point in the marina, the Skippers Bar! Everyone used to come by and exchange the charter experiences. At some point, Barbara
married one of my best friends and we even became closer.
3) What do you love more about working in Fx?
I enjoy working for FX Yachting because I feel we are all a big family. I have great support through the office for any kind of problem I may encounter, even in the middle of nowhere and 24 hours a day! Barbara has been in yachting for as long as I can remember. She understands yachting and very importantly, me and my crew, the guest’s side and of course also the yacht itself. Of course, we have some disagreements sometimes, but through a good communication and cooperation, we always find the best solutions for the company and the guests. During the years, we have grown together and our relationship is built on trust, respect and friendship which makes our cooperation easy and enjoyable.
4) Which islands do you recommend to the guests to visit according to your experience?
I like the smaller islands since they still preserve the natural beauty
and the traditional way of life of the Greek people. The true spirit of Greek hospitality can be found there, and this is what I would like to demonstrate to my guests. Mykonos and Santorini are destinations that everyone should visit at least once in their lives, but I don’t want to suggest them. There are so many people in Santorini that nobody actually enjoys their stay there. There are no harbors where my guests might stay comfortably and explore the island as intended. Additionally, Mykonos is always so windy that sailing on a boat is not so comfortable.
5) What is your secret for a successful charter?
Every group is different and enjoys different things. Some like partying, others like good food and relaxing, or active holidays. Being generous is the key to a prosperous charter! I’ll give them information, my time, my tales, hospitality, and a glimpse of Greece’s splendor! If we split as friends, that’s a successful charter in my book! ...and that my guests had a very amazing experience while visiting Greece!

TSELEPOS, CANAVA CHrISSOU LAOUDIA SINGLE VINEYArD
A single-vineyard Santorini with more maturity of fruit, longer ageing and the mellower, less reductive impact which amphora can bring in place of stainless steel. Muted lemon and greenolive scents mingle with that warm strangeness which seems to derive from the island’s pumice and ash soils; on the palate, the wine is concentrated, rich, arresting, and dripping with those same flavours of lemon and green olive, and that a bitter stony warmth.
KTIMA DrIOPI, rESErVE AGIOrGITIKO, NEMEA, PELOPONNESE, GrEECE
Spicy concentrated red fruits. Attractive tart cherry, plum notes, smoky oak make for a wine with balance and long length. Harmonious and promising!
DOmAINE
KArANIKA, ExTrA CUVéE DE rESErVE BrUT NATUrE
White plum, green olive, mint, lemon rind and fresh tomato nose.
Fabulous! Dry palate with a vivid mousse, tart acidity and a herbal finish. Lovely.
ARLEkINON ChORA WINErY, WILD FErMETED LImNIONA
Ripe and toasty nose with notes of ripe blueberries and red cherries. Well defined on the palate, fullbodied, ambitious.

KArAMOLEGOS, NYKTErI, SANTOrINI, AEGEAN ISLANDS, GREECE
Intense aromas of volcanic rock minerals, lemon juice, sea weed and prickle pears. Fruity palate with mouthwatering melon and mandarins, long length with minerality adding a spicy finish. One for the cellar.

ESTATE ArGYrOS, VINSANTO FIrST rELEASE, SANTOrINI, AEGEAN IsLANDs
This astonishing Assyrtico is a representative of the tradition. It’s a deep russetwalnut in colour, with waxy, incense-like aromas which almost seem to evoke the interior of Orthodox churches. The flavours are deep, dense and close-knit. The balance, too, is riveting – thanks to extravagant sugars (250 g/l), offset by the distinctive acid cut of Assyrtico and an oxidative, ‘rancio’ tang and tannic grip, the legacy of long woodageing processes. Classic Santorini salinity adds a further layer to this unique wine experience.
kTImA BIBLIA CHOrA, OVILOS, PANGEON, mACEDONIA
Impeccable tension and verve flow liberally and are enhanced by perfumed jasmine, honeysuckle and a delectable baking spice and creamy yellow fruit profile. Enticing and long.
EsTATE ArGYrOS, CUVéE MONSIGNOrI, SANTOrINI, AEGEAN ISLANDS, GrEECE, 2019
A tropical fruit basket with tutti frutti complexity. The wine opens with a ripe and juicy peach aroma that opens onto a palate of great freshness with minerals and lemons. An outstanding wine with balance and concentration.

greeK Beers
greece, a country famous for its mythology and culture, has a beer story that’s equally fascinating. Over the past decade, a growing number of greek breweries have taken root, blending modern craft beer innovation with age-old brewing practices. From Athens to Crete, the greek beer landscape is as diverse as its terrain, offering a tantalizing mix of flavors and experiences to savor.
Septem Brewery:
Derived from the Latin word for “seven,” Septem Brewery draws inspiration from the symbolism of creation represented by this number. They’ve crafted a range of beers, each named after a different day of the week.
Notably, Septem Brewery specializes in ales, porters, and pilsners, opting for a non-pasteurization process to preserve the beer’s hoppy aroma and flavor. This commitment to quality has earned them several awards, making their beers a must-try.
One standout is the 8th Day IPA
three malt varieties with whole hops flowers from the US (Mosaic, Citra, and Simcoe). This unpasteurized, unfiltered brew exudes aromas of citrus, tangerine, lychee, peach, and mango, followed by a pleasant bitterness that gives way to hints of mango and pine.
Nissos:
The name “NISSOS” translates to “island” in Greek, a fitting origin for a beer born in the Cyclades, nurtured by the Aegean Sea. Nissos prides itself on crafting all-natural artisanal beers with distinctive and delightful flavors. These
dedicated individuals driven by curiosity, imagination, creativity, and a deep love for high-quality organic beer. Produced at a multi-awardwinning microbrewery on Naxos Island, Nissos beers capture the essence of their Nisson Greek , which clinched the silver European Beer Star award in 2014. This Pilsner boasts a robust cereal flavor,
balance, and a refreshing, inspired by the enchantment of the Cyclades.
FX YACHTING 40
Corfu Brewery:
Established in 2006, Corfu Brewery distinguishes itself by producing uniquely fresh beers with a limited shelf life. These beers proudly display production dates, allowing consumers to know when they were made, and setting them apart from industrial counterparts.
Their red Ale Special, a top-fermented, unpasteurized beer, is celebrated for its distinct caramelized malt flavor and subtle hop bitterness, accompanied by notes of caramel, citrus, and floral aromas.
Nimfi:
Hailing from Thessaloniki, Nimfi offers a hoppy lager beer with a golden hue. This beer is created through a blend of five hops, resulting in a brew with rich floral aromas, fruity flavors, and a gentle, lingering bitterness. Using 100% Macedonian barley and employing a modern facility in Sindos, Thessaloniki, for the entire malting, brewing, and bottling process, Nimfi delivers quality and authenticity.
Elixi Microbrewery:
The Elixi Microbrewery embarked on a small adventure in early 2014, establishing itself in the Chalkida region. This microbrewery has a distinct focus on producing craft beer products characterized by their lack of pasteurization and filtration, opting instead for traditional bottle fermentation. As a family-run business with members from diverse backgrounds, their range of labels and brands reflects this diversity.
One standout creation is the Delphi Dark Ale, an unpasteurized and unfiltered brew that undergoes traditional bottle fermentation. This beer strikes a balance between strength and finesse, offering an aromatic blend of coffee, roasted nuts, and black fruits, followed by tropical hop notes and a lingering chocolate finish. Its medium body makes it a complex yet approachable beer.

Frothy delights:
THE IrrESISTIBLE ALLUrE OF FrAPPé COFFEE
In a world where coffee culture continues to evolve, one refreshing and indulgent creation has stood the test of time: the Frappé coffee. Hailing from Greece, this delightful beverage has captured the hearts of caffeine enthusiasts worldwide with its enticing blend of coffee, creaminess, and ice-cold refreshment. In this article, we delve into the fascinating history, preparation, and variations of the Frappé coffee, exploring its enduring popularity and the secrets to its success.
The Birth of a Legend:
The Frappé coffee has a humble origin story, dating back to the 1957 Thessaloniki International Fair in Greece. It was here that a Nescafé representative, Dimitris Vakondios, accidentally created the first Frappé when he couldn’t find hot water for his instant coffee. Instead, he
mixed the coffee with cold water and ice cubes, shook it vigorously, and voilà—the Frappé coffee was born.
The Perfect recipe:
Central to the Frappé coffee’s charm is its simple yet satisfying recipe. Here’s how to make the classic version:
Ingredients:
• 2 teaspoons instant coffee
• 2 teaspoons sugar (adjust to taste)
• Cold water
• Ice cubes
• Milk or cream (optional)
• Whipped cream (optional)
• Chocolate or caramel drizzle (optional)
Instructions:
1. In a shaker or a jar with a lid, combine the instant coffee, sugar, and a splash of cold water.
2. Seal the container and shake vigorously for 30 seconds until the mixture becomes frothy and light brown.
3. Fill a glass with ice cubes.
4. Pour the frothy coffee mixture over the ice.
5. Add cold water to your desired strength, leaving some space for milk or cream if you prefer a creamier texture.
6. Top with milk or cream, whipped cream, and a drizzle of chocolate or caramel if you’re feeling extra indulgent.
7. Stir and enjoy your icy, creamy Frappé coffee.
Frappé coffee is not just a drink; it’s an experience. It’s an invitation to relax, socialize, and savor the moment. Whether you’re sipping it at a bustling café, a serene beach, or your own backyard, the Frappé coffee’s icy allure is hard to resist.
The Frappé coffee, with its rich history, simplicity, and adaptability, continues to be a symbol of coffee innovation and indulgence. As coffee culture evolves, this timeless beverage reminds us that sometimes the most delightful things are born out of necessity and simplicity. So the next time you’re yearning for a cool, creamy, and caffeinated delight, look no further than the ever-enticing Frappé coffee.
Experience the magic for yourself!

our greatest asset is satisFied guests!
For a variety of reasons, we sincerely value your comments. It can be useful to pinpoint the areas where our fleet excels and those where improvements should be made. Having clients who feel that their thoughts are valued can also help with relationship building. Client feedback should receive the consideration it merits as a crucial component of our business operations.
Christal Mio
We had an AMAZING time onboard ChristAlMio. We really could not have been happier!
Andiamo
We have had such a BLAST. We really don’t have any words for how special this vacation was. Eric and I felt like we were on a second honeymoon. Each cove and port were amazing. The food was out of this world. Makis, our chef, was really extraordinary.
What a gift!
Thanks for all your patience and support!
Aloia
I wanted to follow up to provide feedback on our crew. As you know, I wasn’t happy with some of the decisions and attitude with the captain last year.
This year, Vladimir and his crew were outstanding. The attitude was positive, Vladimir was safe and competent, and he found ways to navigate and put us on the places we wanted to be! He was outstanding and made for a great experience. Panos and Dmitry both were excellent in their own right. The food stood out, and dinitry was extremely attentive and graceful at all times. This crew was stellar!!
Lucky Clover
Thanks to the crew for making this such a great success for all involved.
Above & Beyond
The boat is impeccable, the captain and crew very professional and the chef and hostess really exceptional.
Madinina & Nomad II
Thank you for all your help
creating the dream trip for the Family 60th Birthday Celebration. We are all having a great time. Crew are top rate.
Having a fabulous time! We are cruising the Cyclades…Kythnos, Syros, Delos, Mykonos, Paros, now on our way to Serifos, then other side of Kythnos, last night Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion. Boat is beautiful and crew is over the top!! Promisel’s are super happy with theirs as well!! Weather is great, been able to do lots of sailing!!
Selene
We have loved our charter so much – first time ever and we plan to book another charter as soon as we can. We’d like to go with SELENE but think we want to try another cruising area such as Croatia so may have to return to SELENE another time.

Yeah, these guys were the bestplayed with the kids and kept them safe, great food, and we saw some beautiful places that we’ll not soon forget. Please let them know how much we enjoyed their hospitality and professionalism. We’d charter with them any timemaybe next year!
Tiamo
It was exceptional! The crew in particular were extremely enjoyable, the captain was very skilled, the chef was uniquely talented (especially
given the small kitchen space) and their support, spirit and overall attitudes were a big part of the experience. The boat was new, comfortable and generally large enough for our group of 8. We ended up with the smallest room, but it was adequate.
Myra
Everything, literally everything was meeting and exceeding expectation. It was safe, comfortable and interesting. A special thanks to Captain Marco. A special thanks to each and every member of the Crew!!!!
Top professional attitude and performance. Fantastic cousine!!! And ambient created and dedication by the cabin Crew. Excellent(!!) seamanship aboard, especially during manouvers!!!
