My first encounter with a catamaran occurred in 1999, when an earthquake struck Athens. I had the opportunity to spend it on a 38-foot catamaran because we had abandoned our homes and moved to the marina for safety. There were almost none in Greece at the time, and I fell in love with one. I expected this to become the latest trend in the yachting industry. The first luxury catamaran was introduced in Greece in 2008, and the market for luxury catamaran has been growing and expanding year after year since then.
The market share held by multihulls is rapidly expanding all over the world, and manufacturers are working hard to meet the everincreasing demand for their products.
This trend in the market is due to an increasing number of clients seeking more enriching and opulent living experiences, the significance of comfortable and roomy relaxation places has grown. Finally, technological advancements and more cost-effective production have paved the way for multihulls that offer a genuinely spectacular vessel
for owners and charter guests at incredible pricing.
The most noticeable advantage of a multihull is its spacious hull, which gives ample space both above and below deck. Multihulls often have spacious saloon and cockpit sections that may comfortably handle a variety of social activities, such as hosting a dinner party for friends or simply relaxing with the family in the Mediterranean.
By virtue of their broad beam and superior buoyancy, cruising multihulls are naturally stable. Thanks to the multihull’s small draft, you have unrestricted access to isolated beaches and idyllic coves, allowing you to explore shallower waters without concern.
Unquestionably, the market for catamarans is the segment of the leisure boat sector with the highest growth rate. The global market for multihulls is anticipated to increase in a positive manner.
The next trend is the power catamaran, which combines speed, space, and lower fuel consumption and appeals to both private owners and charter customers.
The market for multi-hull vessels has a promising future.

Kerstin was born in 1978 and grew up in a small town in the East part of Germany. She followed her dream to become a marine biologist by studying geo-ecology and later specialized in marine ecology. This led her to a yacht and sailing at some point in my life. Her love for sailing made her work as crew for over 5 years extensively in the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, and along the Pacific coast of Central America. Her yachting career moved ashore in 2010 when she settled in Greece to start a family. Joining the yachting industry as broker and charter agent seemed the perfect fit. Her many experiences bring together a wealth of knowledge of sailing and travels to best help guests. FX Yachting has one of the biggest crewed catamaran fleets in the Mediterranean!

“Life is like sailing, you can use any wind to go in any direction!”
Rory PetrilliRetail Charter BrokerRory is a lover of nature, travelling, and adventure. She entered into the world of sailing after spending years in the mountains as an alpine ski racer and coach. She began her sailing career in Seattle, USA- racing a multitude of boats- then venturing out for her first Pacific crossing from Mazatlan, Mexico to Hiva Oa, French Polynesia. After leisurely exploring the islands for several months, she was more than hooked!
Her travel experiences led her to beautiful Belize to work as a skipper on catamaran charters. She was passionate to show guests the beauty of nature and the slow life. With charters throughout the country and south to Guatemala, her guests had incredible experiences both sailing and exploring new areas.
After several seasons sailing Belize, she returned to the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region of France in the HauteAlpes to begin work as a yacht charter broker… a seemingly strange place for a yachting career. However, she can combine her love of the mountains with easy travel to the Mediterranean, Adriatic, and the Caribbean. And, living the best of both worlds, she spends half her time in Greece and enjoys the gorgeous waters and fabulous sun!

With the help of our supplementary training sessions, we are able to assemble strong, energetic crews that are eager to welcome guests and provide a truly unique yacht charter.
We’re thrilled to share the news that our fleet’s veteran chef, Spyridoula Karampouraki, this year will take on a new and important job by training our chefs. Moving them from the “restaurant” level to the “yacht” level. She will mentor them and impart her wisdom to help them succeed immediately.
Following many years of work as a deckhand from a very young age, I decided to follow a career as captain. One of the greatest advantages of this job is that it gives you the opportunity to explore and meet people at the same time. I have to admit that his season was absolutely great! I met many interesting people with different backgrounds.
One of my favourite Greek islands is Folegandros because of the breathtaking sunsets, and the mainland of Peloponnesus because of its unspoiled nature. For someone visiting Greece for the first time, I would recommend taking full advantage of the independence that your boat provides, avoiding islands with airports and large marinas. Choose an island where the locals will treat you as guests rather than tourists.
In a stressful situation, I try to remain calm and use humour to help my guests understand the situation. Understanding the needs of each character separately is the key to a successful charter. Pay attention to your visitors’ needs. Be there for them while you are invisible.
My passion for the sea led me to become a captain; my favorite parts are the adventures and meeting people from all over the world. Infrastructure was still an issue this season. Travel will continue to improve as we make it easier for our guests to reach us. There are many great places to visit in Greece for the first time, but no one should ever miss a sunrise or sunset from a boat in a beautiful bay. The Meltemi affects the Cyclades in the summer, depending on the time of year, and can interfere with guests’ expectations of itinerary and comfort. In a stressful situation, I use the voice of reason and calm to guide me. My favorite itinerary is the Saronics, which offer a wide range of destinations such as lively nightlife, fishing villages, and quiet and secluded bays. They are well sheltered, allowing guests to enjoy using the sea toys, and the distances between the islands allow for a good balance of sailing time and island exploration. The key to a successful charter is to provide a home away from home, with a relaxed atmosphere, a custom menu, and service to remember. We have found that having the most up-todate water toys goes a long way toward creating the ultimate charter experience. To take genuine pride in and enjoyment from the services and experiences you provide.
After five years of professional service in the Hellenic Army, I decided that I couldn’t live far from the sea. So I began a new career as a skipper, first in the Ionian Sea and then in the Aegean Sea. Meeting people from all over the world and showing them how beautiful sailing to Greek islands is is my favourite part of my job. Every day is a sweet adventure, so I like to be the guide for them to explore the islands and Greek hospitality, and to see the joy on their faces. This summer we had a fantastic season. My passengers were all completely relaxed and content. Polyaigos and Milos in the West Cyclades are my favourite Greek destinations, and I believe that their unique beauty will leave tourists speechless due to their volcanic landscape. Hydra and Spetses are also popular destinations for us when we sail to Saronic. I cannot name a single Greek destination that should be avoided because each island has its own distinct beauty, but when it comes to wind, I strongly advise avoiding the central Cyclades. Strong winds are common, especially in the middle of summer [July and August], and they are not pleasant for those who get seasick. The key to dealing with stressful situations on board is to remain alert and calm at all times. After so many years of experience, I can easily predict the next step in a complicated situation. I’m also a craftsman, so I know my job and my boat inside and out. If I could recommend a destination in Greece to someone who is visiting for the first time, it would be West Cyclades because of the beautiful islands and the ease of sailing back to Athens when the weather is extremely windy. The key to a successful charter for me is to always be courteous, diligent, and kind to my passengers and crew.
I decided to become a captain when I was a child. I really enjoy travelling especially when you throw away the ropes and leave, leaving behind all your problems and thoughts. That’s what I used to do when I got on the small sailing boat in my nautical group and just relaxed and enjoyed the sea, air, and breeze! Each destination in Greece is unique, and we always keep our guests’ wishes in mind. Of course, everything is subject to the current weather conditions. Santorini is a destination that I would avoid based on my previous experiences. An incredible tourist destination, ideal in my opinion, but the infrastructure for boats is non-existent, the tourists are numerous, and movement is difficult when it is extremely windy. The Saronic Islands in combination with the Peloponnese, as well as the islands of Lefkada, Ithaca, and Kefalonia if we are in the Ionian, are a recommended itinerary for someone visiting Greece for the first time, even by boat. I always recommend a few routes that I consider taking, but it all depends on where I start with the boat and how the weather is at the time. The key to a successful charter is the crew’s ability to work together smoothly. Even in times of crisis, the crew should always work well together, smile, and be positive and optimistic. Everything else will come together naturally.
My passion for the sea and sailing inspired me to pursue a career as a professional captain! I wanted to share my love for my country and civilization, so I chose to work on charter boats. This year's season was extremely fruitful! We performed admirably! My guests' smiles are still in my eyes! Ιt is difficult to say which destination is a mus, because not all visitors have the same appetites and lifestyles, but the good news is that Greece has destinations for all types of people! The same holds true for the inverse. I don't think there's anywhere to avoid! The captain must engage in conversation and plan an itinerary based on their appetites and wishes, as well as weather conditions. When there is a stressful situation on board, I try to find the cause and solve it as calmly as possible. I don't have a favourite location in the Greek waters. For a first-time visitor to Greece, I would recommend an itinerary that includes easy embarkation and disembarkation ports for their safety.
Then I give the guests the opportunity to see that, despite being a small country, Greece has many differences depending on location. Architecture, food, music, colours, and weather are all different. My successful charter strategy will remain a closely guarded secret! Haha, but when it comes to hosting people, I would say to be yourself and love humans! Respect their time off! Make them feel secure and comfortable! Open your hug and smile! Guests are coming to visit Greece including Greeks!
Coming from a sailing family, I didn’t really have a choice than becoming a captain! I remember the days out sailing with my grandfather and the kaiki, he called Agios Nikolaos. My father was the base manager of Moorings in Athens. So my faith was sealed long before I could make the decision! My favourite part of my job is that I got to sail almost around the world in a way that very few people have done in their lives and also all the different and amazing people I have met throughout my 32 years working as captain. This season was one of the best! It brought back memories of the golden years in 1991 and 1998! I guess people had the need to get out and travel again after 2 years of lock down during the pandemic.I am a fan of the small islands where tourism hasn’t spoiled the old way of life of the Greek people and nature yet and is still pure. This is where one can find the real Greek hospitality and this is what I want to show my guests! Although Mykonos and Santorini are places that you should see once in your lifetime, I am not happy to recommend them. Santorini is so crowded with people that nobody really enjoys the time there. There are no harbours that my guests can be comfortable and visit the island properly. And Mykonos is always so windy that it is not comfortable in a yacht to travel. As a captain I have to know how to read characters. So what I usually do is spot the trouble maker of the group and keep him/her close to me! If I take good care of this person, everything will be fine with the group. Another stressful situation can arise when the yacht has technical issues. I need to stay calm, professional and need to act fast, most of the time I manage with my technical knowledge and long experience that even the clients don’t understand that there is a problem! After that, I can go to my cabin and have a heart attack....! Every group is different and enjoys different things. Some like partying, others like good food and relaxing, or active holidays. The itinerary is something that I will create according to what my guests enjoy! As I mentioned before,
I like the smaller islands with authentic people so one favourite itinerary for me is to include Serifos, Sifnos, Milos, Kimolos and Polyagos in the Cyclades and Hydra in the Saronic. I also take into account the sailing experience of the group. You cannot take someone that has never sailed before to the Cyclades with 6-7 Beaufort on their first trip and sail for 6 hours straight.... They will never talk to you again during the rest of the trip!
The secret for a successful charter is to give! Knowledge, my time, my stories, hospitality and showing them the beauty of Greece! A successful charter for me is when we part as friends! And for my guests to have had an unforgettable time in Greece!

Sauteed sea bass with bean cream and tarama mousse.
● 500 gr beans (medium dry)
● 3 carrots (chopped)
● 2 dry onions (chopped)
● 2 celery stalks
● A little leek, chopped (optional)
● 2 tbsp tomato paste
● A little celery (chopped)
● 1 tbsp bukovo (optional)
● 3/4 fl. olive oil
● Salt
● Pepper (freshly ground)
● 50ml lemon
● 3-4 anchovies
● 1 chilli pepper
There is no need to soak the beans beforehand. Place them in a pot with enough cold water to cover them and bring to a boil for 50 minutes. Drain them in a colander.
After that, chop the vegetables. In a large pot, heat 2 to 3 tablespoons of olive oil and add the onions, carrots, leeks, and celery. To fry them, thoroughly combine them. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes on medium heat.Pour in the paste. This tomato paste (sautéed) brings out all of its aromas and provides an incredible taste and deliciousness. Add the beans and then the boiling water (about 2.5 lt).
Cook, covered, until the beans are pureed and the bean soup is creamy. Add the remaining olive oil, a little celery, season with salt and pepper, and, if desired, the bokovo. When our
bean salad is finished, beat it with a fork and add 50 mL of lemon juice, 3-4 anchovies, and 1 chilli pepper.
For the sea bass: fry the filleted slices in a nonstick pan. The trick is to cook the sea bass skin side down in a cold pan until it becomes crispy. Season with salt and pepper and cook for a few minutes longer on the other side.
For Mousse tarama: 50g white or red tarama, 80 ml lemon juice, 80ml onion juice, 300ml sunflower oil, 150ml olive oil. Add the tarama, lemon juice and onion juice to the blender and blend for 5 minutes.
Add the olive oil and the sunflower oil together and slowly pour them in until the mixture binds and becomes a nice texture.
Bon appetit!

Dalamara Winery (Xinomavro) Dry Red - $
A Naoussa 2020 would normally be good to drink after 2024. Fortunately, thanks to the efforts and experimentation of the area’s new wine producers, this is a thing of the past. Kostis and the “gang” of young and talented Naoussa winemakers transform the region’s wines’ traditional austere style, allowing them to be enjoyed pleasantly even when young. It expresses its origins perfectly, as is typical of the variety. Given the acidity and intense tannic character of the variety, this would have seemed unthinkable in the past.
Rose de Xinomavro’s origins shine through because it’s tomato aromas entice your nose from the first sip. Its true Xinomavro nature is evident on the palate, with incredible structure, tannic substance, and crisp acidity. The three months of maturation in used oak barrels undoubtedly plays a role here. As you may have guessed from the foregoing, we are discussing a rosé wine that begs for food!
Anatolikos Vineyards Avdira of Thrace Bio (Malagousia 100%) White, dry - $
Golden-blonde colour with green highlights, subtle barrel presence with elegant vanilla and butter aromas, intense and complex bouquet of citrus, quince, honeycomb while releasing flowers and yellow fruits. Exuberant in the mouth, with fruit and barrel in perfect harmony, perfect taste balance, and very good acidity, oiliness, and long duration. Transfer it to a large decanter about twenty minutes before serving. The distinction will pleasantly surprise you!
Unfiltered wine with a strong temperament and intensity. The aromas are complex, with a dense weave of small red and black fruits, warm spices, and smoke notes. Mouth with a lot of energy and intensity, a hint of romaine, ripe tannins, and acidity that suggests ageing for a long time. The conclusion is extensive.
Special Pinot Noir in a different “conception” than we are used to. The fine Assyrtiko lees also contribute a small percentage (5%). Fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged in used white wine barrels for 24 months. As a result, the wine has delicate fruit on the nose, as well as intense berry and floral notes. In the mouth, it’s elegant and intense, with dense cherry and a robust, spicy tannic structure.
It quickly established itself among the great Greek reds...and continues to do so after receiving a top score of 95/100 from eRobertParker.com in August 2016! A powerful red wine for special occasions, but also for sophisticated palates. A very good Xinomavro with a spicy character from the addition of a small amount of Syrah. This wine is intended for high-level taste combinations and is velvety but also “brutal” where needed.
Xinomavro from Naoussa and the subversive Apostolos Thymiopoulos, produced from authoritative old vines which combine style between traditional and modern schools. Dark fruit, spices, and herbal elements combine to form a complex whole with strength and flavour concentration. A super complex aromatic bouquet is created by small red and black fruits, sweet spices like cinnamon and cloves, herbs, and sun-dried tomato. It has noticeable but fine tannins, high acidity, dense fresh fruit, and a long finish. It is unquestionably a wine that can age for decades in the bottle.
A true visual treat with beautiful salmon colour! A.muse is fruity, light, smooth, lively, and elegant. Ideal for serving with fresh seafood, sushi, salads, and vegetable pies. Muses Estate’s Amuse Rose is a rosé that you will adore and want to drink all the time! Its exotic aromas and taste are almost addictive, and on the other hand, you don’t need much to enjoy it, just a cool salad! Amuse rose is that kind of wine, but it’s also an explosion in your glass, an aromatic bomb! 90% Sauvignon Blanc grown at an elevation of 450-550 metres and 10% Mouchtaro combine to create an incredibly elegant rose wine that, with your eyes closed, reminds you of New Zealand’s Sauvignon with its passion fruit and gooseberry aromas! Perfect!
The pairing of possible red Syrah (92%) with white and aromatic Viognier (8%) is a practice that began in the Rhône wineries in France and has been perfected by most Australian winemakers innovators. The goal is to find the best balance of power and elegance. A one-of-a-kind and sophisticated wine. Aromas of fresh red fruits and sweet spices linger in the mouth, supported by highly delicate tannins and well-balanced acidity. This wine is aged in new oak barrels for 12 months before bottling, which has contributed significantly to the development of friendly and spicy aroma and flavour influences.
Silphium was a valuable plant for the Romans, and it is now nearly extinct. This mature wine, aged in French oak barrels, is just as rare. Peach-melon hues that are bright and vivid. Complex nose with delicate aromas of mango and pear. Silphium is a rich and round wine with a soft acidity that leads to a sumptuous finish with notes of white flowers such as chamomilla, pear, pineapple, and distinct tannins.
Silphium is a wine with excellent ageing potential, which is unusual for a rosé.
Beautiful light grey-salmon colour with strong rose and citrus fruit aromas and hints of Turkish delight, lime and lemon blossoms. Mouthfeel is medium, with a refreshing acidity, volume, and a long aftertaste. A contemporary approach to the Greek variety Moschofilero winemaking. This wine offers fleshy white fruit, spice and sea salt on the nose. The wine has an earthy flavour, with herbs and a hint of smokiness mingling with fresh-fruit flavours. Overall, it’s one-of-a-kind and centred on food.
Unfiltered wine with intensity and a strong temperament. Complex, with a dense weave of aromas that includes small red and black fruits, warm spices, and smoke notes. Mouth with great energy and intensity, a hint of romaine, ripe tannins, and acidity that suggests long ageing. The conclusion is lengthy. Accompanies: Cooked or grilled red meats, sausages. Yellow hard cheeses.
A Chardonnay that flirts with the Burgundian concept while remaining distinctive and seductively whimsical. Six months fermented and aged in new French barriques. Short pre-fermentation extraction, malolactic fermentation completion, and bâtonnage Wine with a brilliant yellow colour and golden highlights. Chardonnay is usually expressed with the finesse of fine French wood. On the nose, lemon, orange blossom, and pineapple aromas emerge, along with butter, sweet wood, and hints of minerality and almond. Rich and complex on the palate, with crisp acidity, citrus and tropical fruit aromas, and vanilla and coconut notes. The aftertaste is rich, powerful, complex, and long. It pairs well with strong cheeses, rich pates, and fatty white meats when served at 12-13°C. It is aged for 4-6 years after harvesting.
Allowing 5% of the fruit to dry on the vine (a method used in Burgundy) increases the fruit concentration to majestic levels. To reduce wine contact with wood, fermentation took place in large French 500lt oak barrels. It stayed for 14 months, developing a complex, impressive, and velvety personality. It was then bottled with one of the most beautiful labels available on the Greek wine market. Its name translates to “Blood of the Stone.” It happened by chance in the vineyard, when a drop of juice dripped on the stones, painting them a deep purple colour. It is without a doubt one of the most appropriate wine names we have come across. If you want to listen to us, buy at least three bottles: one for now and two for the next decade.
Lacules estate ‘’the chord’’ (Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Grenache) Dry Red - $$
For the time being, few people are aware of his boutique winery in Koroni, but it amply demonstrates Messinia’s wine potential. The basic label of one of Greece’s best-kept secrets is a wine with finesse and balance. Aromas of cherry, spices, and animal notes coexist in the nose, while the mouth is soft and balanced, with a satisfying aftertaste. There are only a few bottles available, so act quickly!
Trilogia Dio Ipsi Estate is a Cabernet Sauvignon anthem and the ultimate Greek wine for Cabernet Sauvignon fans. It will blow your mind with a new appearance but the same impressive concentration! The winery got its name from the vineyards’ two opposite slopes and their unique topography (Two Heights). These slopes are also responsible for the high quality of the grapes, with the diversity of the soil and altitude assisting in their perfect ripening. Trilogia is made from Cabernet Sauvignon vines that are about 25 years old and grown in the heart of Ilia. Classic red vinification follows, with long extraction and 18 months in French oak barrels.
Domaine Antonopoulos Anax (Chardonnay 100%) Dry White$$$
The Chardonnay vines are located at an elevation of 750-900 metres in Demestikha, Achaia. For fermentation and maturation, only French barrels of 225 litres are used, 15% new, 45% second, and 40% third. Antonopoulos Vineyards Anax matures in barrel for approximately 8 months with its fine lees. The end result is vivacious, intense, and buttery. Prepare for a wine that necessitates food pairing but will undoubtedly reward those in the know!
Domaine Papaioannou Nemea Terroir Bio (Agiorgitiko 100%) Dry Red - $$$
A great Nemea that demonstrates the capacity of “terroir” in all its glory, reaffirming its great brand name. Complex bouquet with aromas of red fruit, cedar, vanilla, and clove, as well as coffee and skin undertones. Generous mouthfeel, juicy and complex with volume, sweet tannins, and a long, fruity finish.
Skouras Domaine Lavirinthos 99/17 (Cabernet Sauvignon –Agiorgitiko) Dry Red - $$$$
Megas Oinos was aged for years in a 1,000 litre barrel containing a blend of several vintages, using the solera method, which is common for sherry but almost unheard of for dry red wines. The colour is a deep red purple with some brick highlights. The wine has a mature, concentrated nose with depth and enormous complexity. The aromatic character is dominated by ripe red fruits (sour cherry, blackberry, and cherry), as well as spicy notes (nutmeg, cinnamon and black pepper). Herb and cedar notes emerge. Thick, full, and soft in the mouth, with well-structured tannins and lively acidity. So mature while still being so young!
Our oenologists are especially proud of Santorini Barrel Aged. This wine is made from 100% Assyrtiko and ferments in steel tanks before being aged on the lees in 3rd use 500lt French oak barrels. Before being re-leased, it is aged for seven months in stainless steel tanks and eight months in the bottle. This wine disproves the argument that Assyrtiko should not be aged in oak to preserve its volcanic characteristics by producing a perfectly balanced wine with great complexity and ageing potential.
A wine that expresses the terroir of Santorini and requires about 4 years in the bottle to mature. It can be stored in the cellar for more than a decade. It is served with shellfish, grilled or fried fish, grilled seafood, white sauced legumes, eggplants, and white meats with lemony sauces. Strict sorting, only the best grapes, manual harvest, and years of experience combine to produce a wine of unparalleled elegance and character. The label depicts the family’s canava from 1800, long before Argyros Estate was founded.
The Artemis Karamolegos Winery is one of the island’s oldest and works with some of Santorini’s and Europe’s oldest vines. Santorini Louroi Platia comes from a single vineyard in Pyrgos, with vines that are 150 years old or older. These vines have been hardened by the Cycladic sun, strong winds, and drought, and they produce few but highly concentrated grapes.
Artemis Karamolegos Winery’s Santorini Louroi Platia can accompany complex and special dishes, but with the right glass and company, it is magical on its own!
Laoudia, for the Santorinians, are the holes where hares nest. Laoudia is also the new Santorini wine by Yiannis Tselepos and Canava Chrissou. A new but distinct Assyrtiko, a collectible wine in extremely limited quantities. The grapes come from very old Assyrtiko vines planted in terraces called pezoules in Pyrgos. Harvesting is done manually and only when the grapes have become overripe. The wine is fermented and matured in amphoras as well, and it stays there for 8 months. Medium-bodied wine with expressive aromas of minerality and earthy notes (amphora, most likely) that continue with finesse, sharp acidity, and a long salty aftertaste. Quite different from their classic Santorini, with unripe fruit and a wilder flavour.
T-Oinos, founded in Falatado, Tinos in 2002, was the first winery to put Tinos on the wine map. For the first time on the island, Assyrtiko, Malagouzia, Mavrotragano, and Augoustiatis are planted. The samples were extremely encouraging from the very first bottling and almost promised the brilliant course that would follow. The winery’s wines are highly sought after and sell out quickly each year. Mavrose is one of them, and it is possibly the best-selling rose in the Cyclades. The grapes come from the 400m-high vineyards Sparveri and Agios Dimitrios. The blend is made up of 80% Augustiatis and 20% Mavrotragano.
Tinos’ winery jewel was founded in Falatado village in 2002. The vineyard in Rasonas, Tinos, is formed on steep terraces and produces an excellent quality Mavrotragano that is vinified in large oak barrels with whole bunches and unbroken rinds and then matures for 18 months in 500 litre oak barrels. The end result is an intensely concentrated wine with notes of fruit, spice, and chocolate. It is difficult to find, so don’t rush to open it; give it some time and it will mature into a magnificent wine. “Rare” means that the wine comes from the best part of the vine and is only produced in exceptional years.
Sail-ness experience, where sailing combining with wellness becomes more than a boat trip
What do we want on sunny and hot summer days? To be at the sea, swimming and diving. What do we think about the Greek summer? On an island, with good friends, big smiles and loud laughs. We take these two ingredients and combine them with sailing, yoga and pilates classes, with quiet hours of meditation, easy listening music and meaningful conversations. This is the concept of “Wellness on Board” that FX Yachting introduces. Sea escapes that combine carefree and action, for the mind, body and soul in a wellness experience.
Greece lends itself to many forms of tourism beyond the mainstream “sea and sun” model. An “alternative” form is wellness tourism with different ways of recreation, entertainment and activities where you will be given the opportunity to discover the natural beauties of the Greek islands, taste the Greek cuisine delicious and healthy, full of fresh flavors of fruits, vegetables, local herbs, seafood and of course the famous Greek olive oil and give time to yourself that will satisfy the soul, spirit and body. Just imagine a stunning destination to get up in the morning and do a yoga practice out on the water, enjoying some peace and the great outdoors. “Wellness on board” is a concept of Ainola Terzopoulou, a certified instructor in pilates and yoga, had, for those who love the sea, like excursions, willing to travel by sailing boat, want to have fun and desire to take care their body with yoga and pilates classes to stay in shape and alternative therapies for your mental and physical wellbeing.
The purpose of “Wellness on board” is to leave our worries behind and open our soul and spirit to the blessing generously offered by the Greek sun and sea and to the carefreeness of a seaway from the city and our hectic programs. With the sky as the ceiling and the sound of the wave as music, without artificial, closed restrictions, you will immediately feel the natural, refreshing energy of nature. Here, where everything comes into balance. All you need to bring is your good mood. For everything else, starting with your comfort and safety as a primary concern, FX Yachting has taken care of it.
Greece is considered to be one of the top 3 places in the world, along with Brazil, and South Africa, for windy sports such as windsurfing, kitesurfing, foiling, and wing foil. More than 300 days of wind per year, safe waters, and the astonishing Greek Islands can provide a lifetime experience. Greece is bordered to the east by the Aegean Sea, to the south by the Mediterranean Sea, and to the west by the Ionian Sea.
The country includes 6,000 islands and islets scattered in the Greek Seas, of which only 227 islands are inhabited. The Greek coastline offers a diverse landscape: beaches stretching over many kilometers, sheltered bays and coves, sandy beaches, sand dunes, pebble beaches, wetlands and deltas, and caves formed by seawater and dark-colored sand in volcanic areas. The coastline of Greece is 15,000 km long (60% mainland, 40% islands).
Sailing and kiteboarding/kite foiling/wing foiling: Choosing the right time of the year for your kite trip is crucial for it to be successful. If the winter season is not too cold, from the middle of April, the temperature rises above 25o C, and nice thermals start forming. Usually, the season ends at the end of October.
FX, in association with expert crew and locally sourced associates, organizes and specializes particularly in kitesurfing & kiteboarding-themed cruises in Greek Seas with luxury sailing boats and motor yachts. Guarantees outstanding holidays for kitesurfing in Greece’s clear blue waters.
Greek Islands, along with the mainland coastline and their spectacular spots, are ideally suited for kitesurfing holidays.
The Islands of Mykonos, Paros, Naxos, Rhodes, Kos, Lefkas, and Corfu are destinations coveted by the world’s savviest kitesurfers, wingers, and foilers. But the little-known spots we have identified on numerous sail excursions will keep pleasantly surprising you, combining ideal wind and natural wonders.
Get to know secret spots untraceable on the map that, under the right conditions, are kiteboarding paradises. The flexibility of living on board and our kite guides and skippers’ experience guarantee that not one single session will be lost if the wind is blowing somewhere. After years of exploring and gathering information from various sources, we have discovered local thermal wind patterns, many remote beaches, dead flat lagoons, river mouths, and unparallel downwind runs from 10 to 50 miles.
Trust our experience in the Greek seas and live a unique experience!
Except for our expertise, we can provide premium quality rental gear for all wind sports from the top companies in this field. Your dedicated kite guide can inform you remotely as the cruise goes on about the opportunities of the next days or be on board with you, helping you and keeping you safe. Furthermore, the kite guide/instructor can teach you onboard. Kitesurfing lessons begin with basic theories of safety and flight, and they can take place on the beach or onboard the inflatable platforms specifically made for this purpose. When you’re ready for the water, we will provide all necessary gear - a helmet, a life jacket, and a protective vest. The instructor is always by your side with a lifeboat on the ready to bring you back in case you find yourself far out in the sea.
The best months for the Aegean sea is July to the middle of September, with water temperatures of 21–26 °C and the strong north wind of the Aegean called Meltemi. The Meltemi is the result of a high-pressure system over the Balkans area and a relatively lowpressure system over Turkey . This wind polarises many people, with locals often welcoming it while tourists (non-wind lovers) may despair.
The most common route is Cyclades and Small Cyclades, and the islands visited are Paros, Naxos, Mykonos, Rinia, koufonisia, and other Aegean islands with crystal clear waters, beautiful landscapes, and amazing sunsets. All trips are designed around kitesurfing, but some last-minute fine-tuning is always possible, the best adjusting to suit your desires and, of course, to factor in weather conditions. Our services are designed to cover kiters of every level of expertise and various preferences. Downwind tours and freestyle kiteboarding at spots situated in landscapes of unique beauty or kite lessons at safe spots. While surfing, you can feel safe: your kite guide (instructor) on a lifeboat will be at close range.
In General, the Ionian Sea is famous for its mild winds. It is considered to be the perfect sea for smooth sailing trips. The best months for the
Ionian sea are April to September, with water temperatures of 21–26 °C and the Maistro wind blowing from noon until sunset. The Maistro (or otherwise Maestral) is the prevailing Northwest wind that blows at the western part of Greece during the summer period. It is a pleasant and soft breeze accompanied by fine weather and light clouds. In April, May, and June, the Ionian sea has nice thermals, which, combined with some local phenomena (venturi effect), provide ideal conditions for wind sports with super steady winds.
The Islands of Kerkyra (Corfu), Paxoi, Lefkas, Ithaka, and Zakinthos (Zante) will seduce you with turquoise-colored waters and their long beaches of fine sand. The scenery is, in general, more ‘green’ and more mountainy. The trip takes place between Corfu on the north and Cape Drepano on the south, where you will find
flat lagoons, atolls, river mouths, and freestyle world-class spots like Cape Drepano, where you will meet all the pro athletes training there. The highlight of this trip is the amazing downwinds in the Corinthian channel with strong northwest winds. The west coast of Greece is way undervalued and still considered to be a ‘lost paradise.’

In Greece, Easter is the most sacred and important holiday of the year. Whether you are religious or not, the sentiment and traditions that define Greek Orthodox holy week will move you. Another advantage of the Easter holidays is that they are the closest to summer, allowing visitors to enjoy the sea and the Greek sun.
During Holy Week, the chandeliers and icon screens of churches are draped in black and purple ribbons, heightening the sense of foreboding for Jesus Christ’s crucifixion and burial.
Traditional tsoureki (a type of fragrant Easter brioche) and Easter cookies are baked in Greek home ovens on Maundy Thursday. Eggs are dyed red to represent the joy of Nature’s rebirth as well as the spiritual regeneration that comes with Jesus’ Resurrection.
On Good Friday, churches cover Epitaphios (a wooden canopied bier representing Christ’s tomb) with flowers of various colors. At the conclusion of the evening service, a procession is led by Epitaphios, the priests, and the acolytes. People walk through the streets of cities, towns, and villages while listening to psalms chanted.
Preparations for the festive dinner that follows the Resurrection Midnight Mass begin on Holy Saturday morning. Mageiritsa soup is a traditional Greek dish served in almost every home (made with chopped offal and herbs). Before midnight, people gather in church with white candles, which they light with the priest’s “Holy Light.”
The Resurrection of Christ is celebrated at Midnight with drum beats and fireworks lighting the skies as church bells peal and everyone chants the hymn ‘Christos Anesti’ (Christ is Risen). Then everyone returns home to gather around the festive table, each holding a red egg and cracking it while the person next to them exclaims Christos Anesti. The one whose egg has not been broken is the winner!
On Easter Sunday morning, lamb is skewered and cooked over charcoal in many parts of the country. In other parts of the world, the Easter meat - lamb or kid - is roasted in the oven. The mood is festive, and
people are listening to and dancing to folk music! So, if you’re invited to a Greek Easter table, don’t pass up the opportunity for the world. Easter celebrations are exciting throughout Greece.
It is also celebrated in many different ways throughout Greece:
What distinguishes Syros is the Epitaphios procession, which begins from every church in Ermoupoli town, whether Catholic or Orthodox. Catholic processions begin at SanTzortzi church in Ano Syros (or Ano Syra) and Evangelistria Church in Ermoupoli, while Orthodox processions begin at St. Nicholas, the Dormition of the Mother of God, and the Transfiguration of Christ. In place of the Cherubim symbols carried with the orthodox Epitaphios, Catholics carry cloaks, sponges, and dice hung from poles to represent Christ’s Passion.
The processions all congregate in central Miaouli Square, facing the Town Hall, where the chorus of St. Nicholas’ orthodox parish sings Good Friday hymns. The feelings of piety and spiritual uplift create an atmosphere of emotional harmony that is difficult to find elsewhere.
On Holy Saturday morning during the first Resurrection mass, it is customary for the congregation in Syros to bang the church pews after the “Christ is Risen” chant. Visit the catholic monastery of St. George (San Tzortzi) in Ano Syros or the orthodox church of the Resurrection of Christ on Dili hilltop for the midnight mass and you will be very impressed. You’ll love the explosion of colors that light up the sky as fireworks are launched from the two hills that tower over Ermoupoli.
Tinos has dozens of churches in each village, and Our Lady of Tinos attracts visitors from all over the world and keeps secrets that can make your vacation perfect. First and foremost, Spring and Tinos make an excellent couple. The narrow alleys with blooming gardens and a sea view set the
tone for everything that follows. Good Friday in Chora, the epitaphs meet in procession, the Agios Nikolaos epitaph will enter the sea with torches aflame, and the night will become magical. Make sure you’re in the port of Panormos on Holy Saturday, where all visitors become great company. But the best part is that Tinos saves it for the day of Resurrection, when the place is packed with “tribonies.” This tradition has been carried out without fail in the village of Pyrgos for hundreds of years. The well-known weapons of sailors with the short barrel, the “tribonia,” play the leading role in the liturgy of Love, or rather, they accompany the liturgy of Love, as they are heard during the ritual and have nothing to do with the gunshots and bangs that we’ve all heard on several occasions.
There is always a good reason to visit Mykonos, but spending Easter there is one of the best. That’s why, year after year, Greeks and visitors in the know gather here for a unique blend of wild partying and a taste of time-honored traditions that are still alive and well. This is a spiritual as well as a festive event that marks the beginning of the season.
In Chora, four processions are taking place at the same time, and they are (unofficially) competing for the most impressively flower-adorned masterpiece. Follow these fragrant, musical parades through the town’s maze-like alleyways. It is an unforgettable experience that combines the theatrical with the metaphysical and the allure of springtime.
On Holy Saturday, both locals and tourists attend the midnight mass at the monastery of Palaiolastro and the Metropolis of Alefkandra to receive the Holy Light that has traveled all the way from Jerusalem. Then, as fireworks light up the sky and people embrace to confirm that Jesus was indeed resurrected, it’s time to celebrate and party.
Sunday marks the end of the Easter season, with large family and friend gatherings. Lamb on the Spit is a traditional dish in Greece that has gained popularity in Mykonos.
Easter in Paros and the representations of Christ’s Passions are one-of-a-kind experiences. Visitors to the island leave cosmopolitan Parikia and Naoussa behind and head east for the Holy Week and Resurrection of our Lord, as depicted in the life and passions of Jesus. It is a custom that began around 80 years ago, before the War, and was organized by Vasileia Kafourou, the Marpissa village teacher.
On Good Friday, the associations and local council of the Municipal District of Marpissa stage events that represent snapshots of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection during the procession of the Epitaph through and around the village of Marpissa. Children and teenagers dressed in period clothing set the stage at various points along the route of the Epitaph, adding a unique theatricality to an already charged and solemn atmosphere, deepening the religious significance of Easter weekend.
SARONIC GuLF EASTERHydra is particularly well-known for its Easter celebrations. During Holy Week, the island fills with visitors who come to experience the uniqueness of a holiday celebrated in the village’s narrow alleyways and across the sweep of its two tiny ports, without the use of any motor vehicles.
All of Hydra’s processions wind through the village and along the seashore, but the Good Friday procession of the epitaphios, when the flower-festooned bier of Christ is held aloft by the town’s young men and processes through the fishing village of Kamini, down the coast, and into the sea, is perhaps the most famous aspect of Easter in Hydra. People holding flickering candles crowd the arcing port of Kamini. Flames and epitaphios are both reflected in the port’s nighttime waters.
Easter celebrations in Spetses offer visitors not only the deeply religious nature of the holiday, but also the revitalizing
sensations of spring. The entire island is a lush green, with flowers blooming everywhere and their heady perfumes carried all over on the sea breeze.
On the Saturday before Holy Week begins, children in Spetses go out singing, carrying the island’s special tradition for that day, biscuits known as “lazarakia” in small baskets decorated with flowers.
On the night of the Resurrection (Easter Saturday), fireworks from all parishes are combined in the island’s sky at midnight, and the streets are packed until the early hours. Each parish recreates its own traditions. A boat is burned in the courtyard of the temple in the parish of Ascension, the parish of the fishermen. The “Burning of Judas” takes place in Kounoupitsa’s square on Easter Sunday afternoon, a tradition revived in recent years by Spetsioti Panayiotis Mathios.
Easter arrives in all its splendor in Aegina, as the sea calms and the harbour fills with yachts and sailboats moored alongside local fishing boats. Poppies, daisies, freesias, and roses bloom in fields and gardens, and neighborhoods are filled with the aroma of baking Easter biscuits and sweet breads on Holy Thursday. During Holy Week, the ouzeries and tavernas along the waterfront, both in town and beyond, do a brisk business in delicious Lenten dishes, vegetable specialties, and live shellfish. By Holy Friday noon, the decorated epitaphios had arrived at the Agia Eirini cemetery, and the heartbreaking sound of people quietly singing the familiar mourning hymn over their loved ones’ graves could be heard. In the evening, three funereal biers, one from each of Aegina’s main churches, begin their procession around the town streets, trying to outdo each other in floral decoration. They eventually gather on the waterfront in front of the Town Hall, among a crowd of people holding candles.
Because of the devotional atmosphere that pervades the entire island, this is most likely the best time to visit
Poros. During Holy Week, the week preceding Easter in Christianity, everyone on the island dresses up and goes to church (Poros has several parishes), usually in the evenings.
On the day before Palm Sunday, children sing songs (carols) about Jesus Christ’s miraculous raising of Lazarus from the dead, and on Palm Sunday, everyone eats fish.
Good Friday on Poros is truly oneof-a-kind. All over the island, church bells are ringing mournfully. Early in the morning, people gather at the church to decorate the bier. At night, every bier congregates in Poros’ main square, Plateia Iroon. Everyone holds a yellow candle and joins in on the priests’ mournful psalms.
Every Easter, Poros has a very special tradition. Young women go to the beach in search of a rock with seaweed on it. Later, they place this rock under their pillows because it is believed that they will dream of their future husbands during this night.
The chain of islands known as the Dodecanese may be found in the south-eastern corner of Greece, not far from the border with Turkey. Your trip to Greece can be easily connected with your next stop in Bodrum or Marmaris. (Turkey)

The island of Maddalena and the northern region of Sardinia
Travel times between the islands are rather brief.
Off the Costa Smeralda, on Sardinia’s northwest coast, is the Maddalena Archipelago. La Maddalena, Caprera, Budelli, Santo Stefano, Santa Maria, Spargi, and Razzoli are some of the larger islands that make up this archipelago, which is encircled by a stunningly clean and crystalline sea.
This is an extremely scenic detour that you should take if you get the chance. There aren’t many towns to explore, but the islands and water here are some of the most breathtaking in all of the Mediterranean. Specifically designed for visitors who wish to spend the entire day swimming around and relaxing.

Your feedback really matters to us for a number of reasons. It can help to identify areas where our fleet is doing well, and areas where improvements could be made. It can also help to build relationships with clients, as they feel that their opinions are valued. Evaluation from clients is an important part of our company’s operations, and should be given the attention it deserves.
THE BOAT: The boat is spectacular. Very modern, decorated beautifully, and efficient in every way. Everyone everywhere we went took photos of the boat and even when it was not the largest in the harbour it got the most attention.
THE CREW: The crew was amazing & Capt Tim was wonderful in that he gave us confidence and his crew respect him. He is a man of his word and went above and beyond to help in every way.
TANYA AND ILANA were fantastic. They were responsive and friendly, and we developed a strong relationship with them immediately. They mixed with our family very well and made everyone feel at ease.
TIM Tim was wonderful with our older son. Tim is a hard worker with a great personality. We were always comfortable with Tim being around because he seemed to look after everyone.
EuGENE - we did not know what to expect by way of food on the trip. We exchanged our likes and dislikes prior to the trip but planned to eat off the boat at least one meal a day.
We ate one meal the entire week off the boat. Eugene was creative and thoughtful with his cooking. He listened to our wants and truly blew us away with the food. Eugene is incredible and we enjoyed meeting him and his skills.
All in all, our expectations were blown away. The trip was amazing, and we would be happy to be an honest referral to you at any point. .
Thank you for letting us have the opportunity.
– O.S.
What an exceptional experience! The trip exceeded all our expectations from the moment we stepped on the boat.
Captain Yiannis was very professional yet warm, friendly and accommodating. Chef Spiridoula and stew Anastasia were fabulous. All the couples agreed. Our meals were delicious, and the chef went over and beyond on all levels. We danced, laughed and drank and ate like kings. Oh and we managed to find very nice swimming coves for us to all get into the water and it was very nice and refreshing. If I knew today that these 3 were going to crew another journey, I would book/reserve it right now
- J. S.My family, friends and I would like to thank you in advance for the great and smooth handling on your part. Furthermore, we want to say a big compliment and thank you to the crew (Adam, Dionisis and Stefano).
The professionalism, competence, friendliness and the service was above average ...... five stars PLUS +
We were a total of 10 people and everyone was enthusiastic about the team without hesitation ...... really great !!!!
- G. SIt’s been two weeks since we returned to Canada from our vacation in Greece and Europe. Now that we have readjusted to our daily routine, I would like to write to you and let you know about our experience in Greece.
First and foremost, I would like to express my gratitude for all the effort you made to make our trip to Greece a dream come true. It was a very long journey due to unexpected challenges and very strict restrictions here in Canada and around the world because of the pandemic.
I would like to thank you very much for the unexpected upgrade from the catamaran we initially booked, giving us the opportunity to sail on Toro Bianco. This was not only an upgrade to a more spacious catamaran, but also gave my family and I the chance to meet a great crew and enjoy the outstanding service and good company of Tasos and Myrto.
Tasos’s dedication and professionalism combined with his extensive knowledge of Greek history and of the most beautiful treasures of Greek islands allowed him to give us the best advice in choosing our itinerary. Having our voyage tailored by Tasos ensured that our trip always met or exceeded our expectations.
Also, we are very happy that we had the opportunity to experience authentic Greek cuisine through Mytro’s wonderful recipes. Thank you for everything. We are looking forward to seeing you and sailing on one of FX’s catamarans again.
- E. P.We are home and getting back into the swing of things….slowly!
We want to take this opportunity to thank you, and the crew for such an amazing experience. We knew the trip was going to be a truly special adventure, but it exceeded all our expectations.
To begin with, NOMAD was a beautiful boat which was comfortable and provided an ideal home for our group for 7 days. The layout was thoughtful, and we enjoyed all of the water toys. We loved sitting up front while sailing and watching the dolphins swim next to us. Judi kept the cabins tidy and our drinks filled - always with a smile. Approaching the islands and seeing all of their beauty from the bow of NOMAD is something we will never, ever forget. Οur captain, Piotr, was extremely competent and knowledgeable. We never once doubted his abilities and felt safe the entire time. He planned a great route for us with exceptional sailing and exceeded our expectations again with the islands he took us to - truly beautiful places that we were fortunate to visit since most are off the beaten path. He even took a few of us who wanted to see it to a live archaeological dig which I am sure is going to be a tourist attraction soon. He was thoughtful, kind, and engaging with us - if
I could bestow any more compliments, we would charter another yacht captained by him again!
Our chef, Hari, served us gorgeous and DELICIOUS food! Every meal was well thought out, presented, and just when we couldn’t think he could top what he did for the previous day, HE DID! We all wanted him to come home with us (wishful thinking, we know!). He was very cognizant of our guests with allergies and went above and beyond for all of us - even with snacks. How he made all those amazing meals in that galley will never cease to amaze
us - including chocolate soufflés!!
The entire crew spoiled us and made our holiday one we will never forget. I cannot say enough about our experience and hope to one day soon charter again. “I only want to approach a beach by tender. We are boat people now!”.
Thank you, again, for assisting us through the APA, the preference sheets, and answering all of our questions. I have already shared your contact information with others who are interested in chartering for their next vacation, and I have already recommended NOMAD to others who are looking to have a once in a lifetime trip as we did.

Here I am with my usual feedback on our vacation!
Navigation: very good crew with desire to do, also very willing to do their utmost and commit to reach places that we would not otherwise have been able to see or due to sea and wind conditions, or for long crossings; the captain is an excellent connoisseur of the coasts and islands and has always been able to find very beautiful and particular coves, and was very good at defining a beautiful itinerary, in conditions that sometimes had to be managed better than wind and sea. Availability and kindness: all three crew members were always ready to anticipate our wishes and to work to make our holiday more than pleasant (every day they disassembled tenders, canoes, sup and various toys; often with the tender they brought us to see points otherwise unreachable; they have always been nice, sunny and kind).
Cuisine: very Greek; excellent and abundant. Professionalism of the crew: everyone is very professional, starting with the captain. A hug. Good continuation of vacation.
– R. P.
Had an amazing time! Two weeks on the LIR with Darragh and crew were some of the best! Thank you for showing us amazing things and getting us up on the boards and challenging the boys to come out of their shells with games and fun. We look forward to another journey with you!
What an unforgettable week. Thank you Darragh for the fabulous food attentiveness, entertainment
We had a fantastic trip and everything was great. Ilias and Zoe were excellent hosts, the catamaran was superb and we were very fortunate with the weather.
I think it is quite likely we’ll do another trip next year.
- S. M.We had a great time. Beautiful boat, well able to accommodate 10 of us and the 4 crew. Crew were excellent, working very well together as a team and very service oriented. Captain knows the boat and the best places to visit, so we had a marvellous itinerary and avoided the tourist hot spots while still seeing the best of the NW Cyclades. Great chef who cooked and presented us with some superb food. On board toys were good quality and much enjoyed.
- W. BAether
Fantastic trip - great crew, boat and tour. Only positive things to say!
- N.RI wanted to again profusely thank you and your amazing crew for the incredible trip you produced for their family and friends. They praised the in-depth knowledge that you have of Captain Artemis, thought the chef produced some of the best food they ever had and that the service and ambiance on board was perfect!
