What It Takes to Be a Football Player at GA By Blythe Berlinger
Mr. Dolan, GA football coach, says GA has a really good football team. He says just a week before GA-PC Day the team won really big against Chestnut Hill. I asked him what is the schedule for football? He said they play their games on Saturday and have Sunday off. On Mondays they watch a film of how they played, they look at what things they could do better and what they did right. Everyday at practice they do different things to warm up and be prepared for the game. Finally, I asked him how do you think GA will do against PC? Mr. Dolan says PC is a really good team, but we still have a chance of beating them. ~ After GA’s win I interviewed Mr. Dolan again. He said they were tired but played an outstanding game. I asked what the team could do better for next year? He said they want to improve their record of games played; they want to beat all of them next year! The most interesting part of the game was at the beginning when they were not winning, but came back in the end. The most useful players during that game were the quarterback, Hayes Nolte, and the wide receiver, Kyle Donahue. Mr. Dolan was surprised and very happy that GA had won.

GA-PC Day Pep Rally: A Review
By Juliana Gonzalez
My favorite part of the Pep Rally is that all the kids are supporting their school…and the dances they do. The Pep Rally was on Friday, November 8th in the big gym; all the grades in the school were there! There were dancers, a band, and of course, cheers. The Lower School won the noise competition like usual. As you know, the 12th graders also ran through the hallways earlier that day. The 4th graders cheered and banged on their lockers as they ran through! On the day of the football game at Penn Charter, GA won! That was a big, big surprise. GO GA!!!
Getting to Know the Asst. Head of LS By Clara Alger
Do you have any pets? I do, I have a dog. His name is Lou. Lou is 8 years old but we just got him this year. So he’s a rescue? We actually got him from a friend who had him and couldn’t keep and they had to find him a new home. So we decided to take him, but he was rescued from Hurricane Katrina. He was one of the dogs that was shipped up to the north after New Orleans was bombarded with the hurricane. What was your job before you came to GA? Before I came to GA, I was the director of the religious school at Beth Shalom Congregation, which is a synagogue. And I basically helped (Continued on Page 4)

Which Pet is Your Favorite? By Cory Miller I did a survey about pets in fourth grade. I surveyed 19 people and asked, “What is your favorite pet?” I like dogs the best, because I happen to have a dog. Her name is Secret. The results of the survey are dogs got 11 votes (that is the most), 1 cat, 2 chickens, 3 turtles, 1 snake, and 1 frog. I wondered why so many people like dogs. So I asked some people why they like dogs so much. My friend said “because dogs want to play and cats do not.” Mr. Posnan said he liked dogs because of that warm feeling you get when you see them. Personally, I like dogs because they are fun to play with and they are someone to talk to.

the families with their religious school education. Do you have a favorite color? My favorite color probably is, I would say, pink. I like bright colors. If you could change anything about GA what would you change? Well that’s not fair! I’ve been here for like 3 months. Let’s see, I don’t think there’s much I would change that I know of right now. GA is a great school, I think there are a lot of happy kids and a lot of kids that learn. I think that’s what is most important. I think we have great teachers. Probably if I could change one thing at this moment it would be having more healthy choices in the dining room. What was your favorite book when you were a child? I love Charlotte’s Web. And I read a lot of Judy Blume as a child. Like, what’s that character’s name? Beezus. I like Beezus a lot. Is there anything you want kids to know about you? Well let’s see, I have kids and a husband. So I have twins that are 9, they’re in third grade and they’re identical twins. And I have a daughter who is six and she is in first grade. And I really love GA. I’m having a great time here. If you weren’t Assistant Head what would you do? Wow that’s a good question. Probably first I would like to be back in the classroom as a classroom teacher. I do miss that sometimes and I try to get into the classroom as much as I can. And if I wasn’t in anything with teaching, I would like to help new moms figure out how to navigate having a new baby. That’s something I sort of think is really cool.
A Look at 4th Grade Gym Class By Charlotte Harobin
Consectetuer: Fourth grade gym class just switched units. From speedball to cross country running. Right now Mr. Sullivan and Mr. Grady's class are doing cross-country running and Mrs. Watson's class is swimming. If you don’t know what speedball is it's like football and soccer together. The only way to get the ball to your hands is to convert it (get it to your hands without it touching the ground). Then you can take three steps and then dribble (throwing it up over your head and then catch it), then take three more steps and pass. The goal of the game is to get a touchdown or goal. Philly kickball is another game that is the favorite of Mr. Sullivan.

Okay, can I add something?
Clara Alger
It was the most important time in my life other than having kids. It is the thing that changed me the most; it was an opportunity for me to do what I always wanted, go places. I had a wonder lust and when I got out of the army I got to go to college on the GI Bill and it let me get a better job and do more interesting work. So everything I did since then was because of the Army for better or worse.
