When you hear someone talking about their “leisure time”, they probably mean the time when they are away from work. A hobby can be part of our leisure time. Leisure time is not spent on things that you have to do, like work, studying, housework, etc.

What’s the difference between a hobby and leisure activity? A leisure activity can be a hobby: gardening, sewing, painting, knitting, collecting, exercising, fishing, etc. are often hobbies. These are things that one does in their leisure time. Leisure time can also be used to relax. Sleeping, watching TV, etc. are all leisure activities.

My Leisure Needs Leisure activities may change according to what is going on in your life. For example, if you are experiencing a lot of stress your most important leisure need will be to relax. If you have a lot of extra energy, your leisure time may be active.Plan Your Leisure

There’s No Time Like the Present If you don’t have a lot of free time, schedule time for leisure activities. Your personal time is one part of your life that you can control. Manage it wisely. Gabriela Bârcă, project coordinator

When it’s rainy outside and I have free time, I stay indoors and I prefer reading, playing different games with my little brother and doing something creative. When I read I feel extraordinary, I fly over unknown lands, I meet new characters and I always learn something new and interesting. When I play with my brother I feel good especially because he is happy and that’s important for me. Because I have little leisure time, I try to do in this time relaxing and funny activities. I have special activities for all seasons. In spring I like travelling, visiting a holiday village, picking snowdrops with my family and making little amulets with my mother. In summer I prefer getting tanned in the garden, staying under a big tree with a good book in my hands, running after butterflies, going in the forest to admire the nature and playing different games such as basketball, tennis, roller skating and swimming. In autumn I like making crowns of leaves, taking photos in the middle of nature and jumping from a puddle to another. Winter is my favorite season and I go sleighing, I make snowmen and I laugh a lot with my friends. All these leisure time activities help me to keep fit, to relax, to spend a beautiful time with my family and to keep healthy. In conclusion, I would like to have more free time for these activities which embellish my life, but school is my priority. Frătean Denisa , 8th A grade

COMENIUS SPORTS DAY

2013

2. Playing football, basketball riding a bike or roller- skating are preferred by most of the children in our school.

3. Comenius Sports Day gave us the opportunity to spend a whole day playing sports. It was a great day and my favourite school day!

1. Playing sports has an important part in our lives, that’s why we took part in the sports activities organized by our school on Comenius Sports Day. What we really liked was that we could practice any sport, including cycling, roller-skating and playing different games in different locations. So, some of the pupils played indoor games, whereas others went in the open and had fun while practising different sports activities.

COMENIUS SPORTS DAY Playing sports helps you stay in shape, gain skills, teaches you how to organize your time, boosts friendships and builds relationships. It is well–known that participating in sports improves your health in many ways. The pupils of our school take part in many sports activities, both during the regular classes or during their extracurricular activities. We have the best basketball team, both girls and boys, the best speed skaters, who won many medals and the best gymnasts. Besides these, many pupils practise other sports during their leisure time.

Photos taken during the COMENIUS SPORTS DAY in our school

The basketball team of our school won the first place at the County Championship. They train every day after classes and they all say that sports force them to organize their time so that they can both practice their favourite sport and finish their homework for the next day. “The key is finding a balance”, says the team captain. ”If you can learn to organize your time then you can succeed in both”. SIBIU MEETING During the days of the Comenius project meeting, I and my guest from Spain took part in many funny and educational activities. The most important of these activities was the trip. We visited many delightful places and sights. The place that impressed me most was Danes, where we had lunch. The food was great, but the beauty of the surroundings and locations were even more beautiful. I wish I were there right now! Danes Zoo was full of cute animals. I liked them all! Overall the trip was great! What about the other activities of the project? Not all of them captivated me. I just

liked the workshops and the “Artistic Moments, which were absolutely fantastic. I liked the project development in Romania and I would also like to take part in other such experiences. IULIA NATEA, 7th GRADE

I enjoyed this project with all the activities we got to do and the people we met. I had a great time being a guide in Sibiu and showing them around Sighisoara as well. The trip was very interesting and I loved seeing all the new places but also learning some Russian words from the kids. The churches we visited were new to me so I took a lot of pictures. The lunch was very good and the place was very big and relaxing. Our little festivity went really well and I am glad they liked it , although I was very nervous presenting the moment. The activities we did with Easter decorations, sport activities, food cooking and all the others were really fun and I got to talk to the teachers a lot and also explain to them the steps of making the decorations. I had a great time with this project and I am looking forward to joining future projects.

The trip to Sighisoara was a very interesting experience. I got to visit a lot of beautiful places and spend time with our project partners. I talked and learned a lot from them. I learned how to count from 1 to 10 in Russian and some other words in that language. The kids were very friendly and we got along well. I enjoyed visiting Sighisoara and eating at Danes, which was a very relaxing and large place with horses and peacocks. Ĺžtefana Călbază, 7th A grade

Written account of the first two days The meeting took place in our school and seven countries were invited and took part in the meeting. I wasn’t here during the whole meeting, but I’ve spent two amazing days with our partners. On Monday, we met them during our Chemistry lab experiment and I explained them what we were doing. They seemed to like it and it was a nice experience. Then, we met on Tuesday when we guided them around the town. Also, I got to talk to more people and I got to know a lot of interesting things about Spain and Great Britain. It was nice being a guide; I would honestly like to practice it in the future, too. Before the sightseeing tour of Sibiu, we went to The Natural Science Museum and I enjoyed chatting with them about different things, comparing Romania to different countries. It was a great experience, I would definitely like to meet all those people again and go through it all over again. I really hoped they liked their stay here, too. It was nice and unique.
