This five-hour Buggy, Lava Tunnel, and Burger tour is a unique way to enjoy Icelandic nature and covers some waterfalls and gravel road driving. A stunning natural playground for the next few hours, as you test out your buggy surrounded by amazing scenery only Iceland can offer. The tour starts from Hveradalir on Road 378. It's approximately 20 miles (roughly 33 kilometers) from Reykjavik, so you can easily enjoy your buggy ride on an excursion from the capital city. After a short briefing where your guide will take you through safety procedures, we dress up in a snow/whole suit and helmet and hop onto our buggy ride. After that, we start our tour with a visit to the Raufarhólshellir Lava Tunnel, a must-see and one of the longest lava tubes in Iceland. Raufarhólshellir is an underground tube created by the mighty power of a volcanic eruption over 5.000 years ago. After visiting Raufarhólshellir, we drive to our neighboring village Hveragerði for a burger in the Greenhouse, a terrific food market. The village Hveragerði is probably the "hottest" village in Iceland, where geothermal heat is just a few feet under the inhabitants and greenhouses are there in abundance. Explore the magnificent lava tunnel Raufarhólshellir, one of Iceland’s longest and best-known lava tubes in Iceland. It is located just 30 minutes from Reykjavík and is easily accessed year-round.
The tunnel is covered in large rocks and difficult to pass. That is why paths and a footbridge have been constructed so it is easily accessible when doing the Lava Tunnel Tour. Impressive lighting in this part of the tunnel highlights the changing colors and clearly shows the powerful seismic activity that formed the tunnel.

We take you to Reykjadalur, where we relax in a hot river and hope to make the night even more perfect with some northern lights dancing above us. The display is the magic of mother nature and the most unpredictable thing, especially in Iceland, where the weather changes without prior notice. Reykjadalur, which means “Smokey Valley”, is a spectacular place next to the village of Hveragerdi. It is also considered a hidden gem of the south because it is less explored, and quite easy to locate. Reykjadalur is a part of the Hengill geothermal area and it plays one of the most important roles; to provide Reykjavik’s hot water, steam and electricity. In this valley is a hot spring where you can dip in and just enjoy the unspoiled natural landscape right in front of you. Imagine just sitting in a hot spring with some steam coming from all over and when you lean back on the edges you can actually view the magnificent show of Mother Nature. So solemn and away from sounds and lights from the busy city. Just pure nature and peacefulness. We park the car and hike for just about one hour to the spot where we undress and put on our swimming equipment. No dressing rooms, just a shelter to hide while you undress and put your clothes back on, so you better remember to bring a towel.
