Coworking CREATIVE HUB AND STARTUP COWORKING
Type: Academic UNSW Year: 2020.02 Creative Hub and coworking Startup community partnering with the local institutions – UTS and USYD – to create successful startups. A community of entrepreneurs and creatives to connect with and learn from, also open to the public. The project consists of an existing heritage building at Peace Park, Chippendale (Sydney), and a proposed new building adjacent to the former. While the retained building has external loadbearing walls and is very sturdy, the new building contrasts to it in a lighter and translucent sense while acknowledging the existing structure and being informed by it.

AFFORDABLE HOUSING UNSW Year: 2020.01
Building façade
COVID-19 inspired me on my studio research to design a residential building tackling loneliness. For this matter, I found the kitchen to be the core and heart of our homes, a place that evokes intimacy, experimentation and exchange. Hence why I re-proposed the commonly traditional house organization. The kitchen was located at the entrance of each unit and to some extend, integrated with the common area, which was addressed as an extension of the dwelling. The threshold of privacy between the open living area and the intimate area (the bedroom) is given by the position of an enclosed volumetry: the bathrooms. This strategy was inspired by the balcony singing in Europe and on my experience at my current house, where we have a shared balcony that provides many catch-ups with our neighbour. It aims to improve our standard of living and therefore our mental health.

Ogunjá RENOVATION OF A PUBLIC MARKET
Type: Academic - Bachelor thesis Federal University of Bahia - Salvador Year: 2016.01
Over the years, mankind has been losing its connection with food, becoming unaware of its origin, and no longer preparing or cultivating it. Parallel to this, the Industrial Revolution has taken place, bringing with it industrialized foods ready for consumption. In addition to the food issue, the spaces through which we circulate in cities have also undergone drastic changes due to the increase in the use of automobiles. Along with this, we add the neglected public spaces in Brazilian cities. In the city of Salvador, where most public markets are under precarious conservation, I saw the potential of a project to adress these issues. The work reflects on the relationship of contemporary mankind with food versus the urban public space. The line of thought begins in the theoretical field, bringing to the fore questions related to public health, social well-being and public policies. Those questions are later transformed into an intervention project for the deteriorated Ogunjá Market, located in Salvador/BA.
