NATURAL PROCESSES
MAKING SENSE OF RAW MATERIALS AT WYE RIVER
AT FIRST GLANCE THE BEACH SEEMED EMPTY.
AND THE FOREST APPEARED AS A MESS OF FLORA. TANGLES OF VINES, BRANCHES, LEAVES.
BUT FROM BOTH STILLNESS AND CHAOS EMERGED AN IDEA.
AND IT REPEATED.. . .
EVERYTHING THAT IS SEEN IS A PRODUCT OF A PATTERN; MULTIPLIED ENOUGH TIMES TO BECOME PERCIEVABLE BY AN OBSERVER.
FOR NATURE CARVES ITS OWN WAY. IT HAS NO USE BULLDOZERS, GLUE, CHISSLES. IT MAKES SHAPES THROUGH THE POWER OF TIME.
THE LONGER YOU GIVE TO THE NATURAL PROCESS..
. .THE MORE CLEARLY THE PATTERN WILL ARISE.
AS TIME GIVES POWER TO THE ELEMENTS, IT TOO GIVES POWER TO THE DESIGNER. IT GAVE ME THE POWER OF PATIENCE. THE PATIENCE TO HOLD TOUCH, FEEL, ENGAGE, CRITIQUE, PONDER, MEDITITATE UPON, WONDER AT.. .
AND THEN, I REPEATED.. . .
IT IS UP TO THE DESIGNER TO FIND THE BEAUTY IN THE NATURAL PROCESS. MAKE ORDER OUT OF APPARENT CHAOS.
EXHIBIT AND CURATE THOSE CREATIONS OUR WORLD HAS ALREADY GIVEN US. TO ALLOW ITS STORY TO BE TOLD.
I FOUND HARMONY IN MY DESIGN ONLY ONCE I HAD FULLY ENGAGED WITH MY MATERIAL. WHEN I LEARNT TO NOTICE ITS NATURAL BEAUTY, THE PATTERNS OUR UNIVERSE WORKS SO PATIENTLY TO FORM, THE MATERIAL GAVE BACK TO ME. GAVE BACK IN INSPIRATION.
