Background


TRADING Mount Jerai attracts traders from Far East to Lembah Bujang due to its strategic location. Traders bring in their religion and culture which causes the adoption of Hindu-Buddhism. Evolved into the first entrepot in Southeast Asia.

IRON SMELTING Iron smelting is the main economic activity in Lembah Bujang during the 3rd to 5th century A.D. Lembah Bujang was also known as “Kadaram” which means “iron” in Sanskrit.

ANIMISME Belief of everything possesses a soul or spirit and affects the human life.

Monument was built to worship Mount Jerai, residing at the north of Lembah Bujang.

Height : Unknown Characteristics : • Rare & Exotic. • Native to Malaysia & Sumatra. • Needs High humidity & Water. • Slender, Smooth & slightly swollen at the base.

Height : 1.2 – 2m Characteristics : • Uses cultivation techniques like pruning, root reduction & potting. • Can be created from nearly any perennial woody-stemmed tree that produces true branches.

Height : 1 – 12m Characteristics : • With spiky thorns in black and waxy substances. • Leaves are alternate and simple.

Height : 25 – 45m Characteristics : • An important component for the forest. • Straight, clear, cylindrical boles up to 70 feet long with small butresses. • Moderately durable with moderate insect resistance.

Height : Unknown Characteristics : • Recurved and resemble octopus tentacles. • Flowers are mostly arranged in one row. • Flower arranged spirally.
