Welcome to AIESEC Our PROJECTS in São José do Rio Preto.


OUR CITY São José do Rio Preto is a city located at the north/northwest portion of the state of São Paulo, Brazil. With 408,258 inhabitants (IBGE/2010), is the 12th biggest city of the state and the 52nd biggest in Brazil. We are very close to important cities of Brazil: 440 km from the capital of the state, São Paulo; 700 km from Brasília and very close to cities from the inner of São Paulo, such as Ribeirão Preto (200 km) and Campinas (347 km) The city is known because of his lake called “Represa Municipal” and its “capivaras” and because all the festivals and places to go we have here. We are also known as “Great Lakes region” because we are located in the rivers Grande, Paraná and Tietê.

Gira mundo ABOUT THE PROJECT Seeking an environment of inclusive education through actions of culture, information and fun, Project World Turns (Gira mundo) enables Third Sector organizations to create a healthy environment to discuss global issues with children/young children. MISSION: expose children to a new global mindset, leading them to develop critical thinking and contributing to the formation of a socially responsible generation and the promotion and encouragement of quality formal education Exchange students from different parts of the world hold classes and workshops to children inside the NGOs about social issues such as: social responsibility, humans rights, multiculturalism and entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship: insert the ability to innovate and break the comfort zone imposed by paradigms, the axis enables the project participant put forward the needs and solve them in different ways.


Social responsibility: meeting the need to understand the proper use of natural resources, relate activities that enable participants to their responsibility to the world is urgent. Humans rights: making the participants aware of their rights and duties, proposing greater than other and serves the basis of this exchange experience. Multiculturalism: See the need to perform a greater awareness and experience of these heterogenias proposing a walk more focused in mutual respect.


HOW DOES IT WORKS Week 1: alignment of expectations, knowledge of the culture and life of the people at NGO. Week 2, 3, 4 and 5: working on average an axis a week with established order in accordance with local requirements. Week 6: conclusion and closing day (an event at the NGO prepared by the trainees)

JOB DESCRIPTION Develop and prepare the activities and themes the trainee will be applying in the NGO. These activities need to be creative to engage the children and make them enjoy and participate. Interns must participate in all planned activities, including weekly team meetings for tracking of activities and overall experience and weekly LEAD program sessions. To act with commitment, ethical and pro-activity in all exercised stock. The activities carried out in the projects are intended to positively impact a site, the lives of the children and young people and we believe that through these 4-axis guides, you are the person who can be the agent of change.


MENSURABLE OF SUCCESS Activity relationship carried out according to established planning Realization of 4 axes of social development. PERIOD OF REALIZATION: 29 July to September 6 WORKING DAYS: Monday to Friday (8 am to 11 am – 13:30 pm to 16:30 pm)
