Bring you coat in case you are coming to Brazil during winter season (Jun. and Jul.)
SOCIAL HABITS Don't carry too much money or valuable items. You can use your credit card almost anywhere. Avoid to open your wallet on public places as well; Avoid walk alone in streets at night; In case of stolen or in case you lose your documents go to the Police Department immediately; Do not worry if someone is late. It is normal in Brazil get a little late in social appointments like parties, hang out with friends, go to a bar/Pub. But it does not mean that it is a good behaviour to arrive after the arranged time! Specially at professional appointments related to your internship. It is a habits a girl say hello or goodbye to the people (man or woman) with a kiss on the cheek (sometimes a hug if you are more close from the other person). When is a man saying hello to another guy, they just shake ands; Brazilian are talkative so do not mind if they come to talk with you; It is normal to eat rice and beans every day! But don’t worry, there is always a meat or salad during the lunch as well! Don't disrespect your host’s rules! It’s not polite in any case. You have to remember that your buddies in Brazil (people from AIESEC or not) also have their obligations. They are here to support, not to take care of you. We hope that with this exchange you can learn how to be patient and to respect different people and cultures, and to be independent.

Bus station -Ticket Cost: R$ 2.00; -Every bus route makes its way back to Terminal, except the so called Interbairros, which make their way directly from one district to other. Once at Terminal Rodoviรกrio, it is not necessary to pay for a second ticket to switch buses; -Try not to use public transportation late at night. It may be dangerous; -If you need totalk to the bus driver, do this in Portuguese.
