The Most Used Apps In US
Here is the latest survey results from ComScore’s Survey, the most used apps of 2012 is Facebook apps. The nearest competition for the most used apps is Google Maps. This survey was took for iOS and Android Apps.
Facebook has gained a strong growth in 2012 with 85.5 million monthly unique users in US in December 2012 across iOS and Android. Facebook has Apple to thank for on this result as the main reason for this significant declined of the standing of the Google Maps is due to Apple dumped the apps from iOS to replace with it’s own map apps. The decision of Apple removing off the Google Maps apps on their mobile phone causes drastic fall of the results.
Although Google lost out on the most used apps but Google still maintain it’s leadership in the mobile apps where it has 5 apps in the top 6 most used apps chart. The lists includes Google Maps, Google also had Google Play, Google Search, GMail, and YouTube among the top 6 applications. Aside from the most used apps, Facebook are also in a pole position in terms of most engagement from it’s user. Facebook apps tops with 23% of time spent on apps, while it’s sister apps are trailing on the 2nd by 3%. While Google apps collectively account for 10% of apps time spent.
