CREATIVE NOTEBOOK
The creative notebook of my portfolio is as follows. I intend to show my passion in life: my drawings, my designs, my photographs and some creative process of some ideas that I’ve had throughout the years.
DRAWINGS These are some of the drawings I have made throughout my life. From the Anime figures that I have drawn in my teenage days to more mature sketches where I show some anatomic and architecture perspectives. Since I was a child, I have always loved to draw, and to create characters with their own back-stories and their elaborated vests. That shows that even when I was young I had an interest in designing some kind of logo, mark or dress to the figures I was drawing, always adding an emotional element to it. Growing up I developed an interest to human being anatomy, ie how the muscles were connected through the body and how proportional it could be. Finally, the architectural drawings, in my early days, showed my level of interest in this field in order to develop a knowledge in perspective and dimensions when designing a room or a house, without the use of a computer.

DESIGN SKETCHES These sketches show some random creative process focusing in designing a functional product for daily use, for example the bottle, the glasses and the lamps. Although there is much to develop in this design, the drawings demonstrate that even attending Architecture, it has always been my passion to create a product or making it better.

own designs The Vase was made in a Parametric Design course I attended in BrasĂlia – where I learned to operate the software Rhinoceros and Grashopper. In the end of the course, the teacher challenged us to create an object with a simple format and then print in the 3D printer. I decided to design a decorative vase with curves all around it, as part of my graphic identity, respecting the same curves used in the public buildings in Brasilia. Below there are some project codes of the software and step by step of the creative process.
own designs The birds houses were made in a summer course at AUB (Arts University of Bournemouth) in England, 2014. The challenge was to create a comfy bird house using trash and unused materials. I decided to create three different types of houses. Two of them I used colours that combined with the local nature, in an attempt to “invite the birds to enter it. And the other one had a more urban look, blending in with the architecture of the University campus.
own designs The Monet chair was done in my architecture B.A course as part of an assignment of a module “Aesthetics”. The challenge was to create a chair inspired in one artist, architect or designer that we were most fond of. As I’ve always loved the Impressionism school, I chose Monet. The shape of the chair came to my mind as I though of a gondola going down a lake, an element I saw in one of Monets paintings. The colour of the base of the chair resembles the brush technique, so present in Monets work. The chair gives the impression that it will swing………
IMPRESSION only.
photographs In the file PHOTOGRAPHS, it shows that not only drawing and designing are my passion, but also photographing is something I like to do very much. I have an interest in playing with the camera, photographing archictetural buildings, project, ideas, and anything which could be innovative and inspirational. -In the architecture pictures you can notice that I over-layed a lot of pictures with the same view, showing mainly what is really interesting about the building, the structure of it. -The lights photo was another attempt to do something different. I used my decorative lighting balls that I bought to decorate my room and played with it while shooting, using the Light Painting technique.
