ANNUAL FUND LEADERS IN GIVING
The Jesse Long Society The Jesse Long Society is the premier giving society of the Greater Atlanta Christian School Annual Fund. Each year we recognize those individuals who support the GAC Annual Fund with leadership level gifts, that set the pace for giving at the school. These gifts are key for setting an example of generosity for our entire community, and are vitally important to support mission-critical programs at GAC. We are deeply grateful for the leadership and generosity demonstrated by the Jesse Long Society donors.
Jesse C. Long Jesse Long was appointed President of GAC in 1963, where he served for 38 years until 1998 when he became Chancellor of GAC. For the school to become a reality, the funds for property, equipment, and operations were going to be needed. God blessed the efforts of Jesse and other early leaders, and they raised $400,000 from 1,400 families. In December 1967 they broke ground on the new Christian school. We honor Jesse with the naming of this Annual Fund Leadership level giving society. “The story of GAC is truly the story of God taking a group of ordinary people with much more than a dream and using them to build an extraordianry house more woderful than their dreams.” Jesse Long about the early days of philanthropy Early Leader and First President of GAC (1932-2014)
“We give because we believe in GAC’s mission and vision and want to do what we can to help the school continue to fulfill both. Our children are receiving something far greater than any dollar amount we could give, but this is one way to show our appreciation. And while the Jesse Long Society benefits are definitely nice and appreciated, if they were to go away tomorrow, we’d still give at the same level; that’s how much we love GAC.”

“To know you are contributing to the continuing legacy of GAC is a wonderful feeling. Our family considers it a privilege to gather with other like-minded families in the Jesse Long Society to help secure the future of our school. We follow in the footsteps of those who have greatly sacrificed for something they believed in so strongly. The selfless and sacrificial giving of families in the early days of GAC has made all the difference in the lives of our children.”
Jim and Mary Rose - GAC Parents

The Impact of Your Annual Fund Leadership Giving Greater Atlanta Christian School was started with generous donations from Christians throughout the region and has flourished because of the faithfulness of many. Our community is blessed by those early efforts and continued support from families who believed in Christian education. Today, GAC is able to provide a quality education for 1,800 students in a dynamic Christian environment. Tuition covers approximately 80%-90% of the cost of educating a student at GAC. The Annual Fund is the campaign that covers the remaining balance of the Operating Budget each year. Additional funding is sought from friends, parents, grandparents, alumni, and foundations. Generosity and faithfulness is in the fabric of our history, and continues to be a blessing to students here at GAC.
