The Grapevine Notice Board
We’ve just had the first frosts, heralding the beginning of winter and inevitably the end of another year. On a business level it has been a long one...everyone waiting for things in the country to improve, trying to be optimistic, but the gloomy news keeps on coming. However, I would rather be here, watching the pennies more closely, than living in many other areas of the world, under dictatorship and in war or coping with famine and drought. The good old British fighting spirit will prevail and hopefully things will generally improve next year.
This edition of the Grapevine is entering it’s 9th year because local companies are still supporting me by advertising. It is my job to ensure each receives the best exposure I can offer, but it’s for all of us to support our local businesses and keep our communities alive. If you contact anyone you see advertising in this issue, please let them know you heard about them in the Grapevine. It helps them to know that their advertising is worthwhile and in turn will ensure that I will be around for some more years to come. Thank you!

The big fishes (as he calls them) also brought delight to his face as he clicked away with his very own disposable camera (what pictures come out will be another story!) Music is not a luxury, it is a necessity. Musicians and many parents know that music starts before birth. The rhythm of life is present from the beginning. It is the most natural thing to continue this as an inherent part of young life. MusicLand Music School Kindergarten creates a child-centred environment with soft toys, see-saws, a magic box, and a myriad of instruments. It caters for children from three months to eight years. They learn general musicianship skills unconsciously until four, from when the learning becomes conscious. When they complete the kindergarten they are equipped to begin learning an instrument. Using the MusicLand approach they do not have to be able to read or write music; in some cases they start as early as five years old! Through movement, games and songs the children become literate musically. MusicLand’s mission is to create tomorrow’s musicians!
