Repurposed Art Exhibit and Family Fun Event - Cathy Barnett Studios, the Kings River Arts Council, and Green Fresno wish to invite all artists to enter the Earth Day Repurposed Art Exhibit. The Exhibit will be held on April 14th, 2012, from 11:00am to 7:00pm in an outdoor garden-type setting in Reedley, California. Booth spaces of 10x10 are available. Art-Tique Storefront Art Gallery art exchange will take place May 2, 2012 at 5:30 p.m. at the Sierra Vista Mall, ste 1079. Art-Tique accepts all fine art painting or drawing media, sculptures, woodworking, original digital art, fine art photography and fabric/fiber art. All art except sculptures or woodcarving must be ready to hang. Please use flat D-ring hangers and tape the wire ends to prevent accidents. Artist Call for the Swedish Festival Fine Art Show. Kingsburg’s Swedish Festival, which is the biggest and most known of the national Swedish festivals, brings people in from all over the country. It is held annually during the third weekend in May RECEIVING: Wednesday, May 16, 2012 from 12 noon. to 3:00 p.m. A prospectus is available at www.gaildaleyfineart.com click on the link and access the Kingsburg Art Center Page. The Show opens May 18th 2012 and will run until July 16, 2012. The Gallery is open Mon-Saturday; 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m on Saturday, May 19th only from 9:00 – 3:00. It gives a brief overview of such topics as internet scams, using social networking sites to market your art, presentation, how do copyright laws affect artists, juried art shows, and answers basic questions such as what is viral marketing, QR codes, digital watermarking, etc. Vol 2 The Hard Stuff is an introduction to taxes, licenses, insurance and record keeping. There is also a special bonus section on prepping for a booth event. Included are sample agreements for art commissions, sales of art, sales of art with installments, etc. Volume 3-- Art Show Basics— introduces information needed to put on either a one-man show or a group show, along with a sample venue contract, show budget check list, log-in sheets, etc. A CD with usable copies of the contracts and forms discussed in the pamphlets is also available.
