Senior Manager Lim Wei Qin and his wife Yuki recently moved into their chic abode in Fernvale Glade.

Three years into their marriage, they are building a new home with their firstborn and Wei Qin’s parents. The tranquil new estate is very different from the mature Bishan Toa Payoh estate where Wei Qin grew up in. However, with links to highways, Wei Qin can zip to his workplace in minutes. In addition, Wei Qin and Yuki are happy with nearby amenities such as a childcare centre located in the multi-storey carpark beside his block and the integrated Fernvale community club.

Shop for big-ticket items first

Like many BTO homeowners, Wei Qin needed to shop for big-ticket home appliances such as the air-conditioner, water heater, ceiling fans, hood, hob and oven as it was a priority to settle those appliances that required installation before the rest of the renovation.
