MODERN POLYGLOTS – INTERNSHIP INFORMATION /LEGAL OFFICER INTERN Internship Details Title: Information/Legal officer intern
MODERN POLYGLOTS established the Immigrants Support Service to provide a free support and information service for immigrants applying for asylum, leave to remain and naturalisation in Ireland. The intern will gain practical experience in the area of naturalisation law in which the Immigrant Support Service operates, including dealing with clients from third countries, EU and EU ascension countries. The intern will receive formal/informal training in the following: general case work administration, dealing with clients, Irish migration law, providing an information service, submitting citizenship applications and applications for Leave to remain to the Department of Justice & Equality and providing training to information providers. Skills and Areas The successful applicant will have a strong level of English and a strong interest in migration, human rights and social issues. An undergraduate degree in Law, Politics, Sociology, International Relations or related field is an advantage but not essential. A desire to work with migrants and/or in information provision is essential. Good skill of one more Language will be an asset. Payment This is an Internship. The payment is assumed by educational institution, scholarship fund or an intern themselves. We may decide to pay the intern some bonuses relating to their performance and achievements. Accommodation will not be provided, but the agency can assist in arranging it. The intern will have to have reasonable finances for a stay in Ireland during the internship period. Agreement The Intern should provide a sample agreement from the intern’s educational institution or authority paying for the scholarship. If intern is applying directly, we will send our own agreement to sign.
