“Application of hyperspectral imaging to viticulture, using machine learning techniques” (Research grant for doctors, one vacancy) REFERENCE: BI/Enoexcel/UTAD/268/2014 It is available one research grant for doctors, within the project ENOEXEL – FROM VINEYARD TO WINE: TARGETING GRAPE AND WINE EXCELLENCY - NORTE-07-0124-FEDER-0000032 from the research institution CITAB - Centro de Investigação e Tecnologias Agroambientais e Biológicas from Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro, Portugal, financed by the North Portugal Regional Operational Programme (ON.2 – O Novo Norte), under the National Strategic Reference Framework (QREN), through the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER), as well as by National Funds through the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT/MEC - Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia), under the following conditions: Scientific Area: Engineering Admission prerequisites: 1 - Ph.D. in Electrotecnical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related areas. 2 - Skills and testified experience on data classification, computer science, soft computing (neural networks, support vector machines, etc.), preferentially on data from hyperspectral or multispectral images. 3 - Publications in peer-reviewed international journals. 4 - Experience in Digital Image Processing. 5 - Experience with Matlab software. 6 - Ability to work independently and guide junior researchers. 7 - Dynamism, team spirit, high sense of responsibility, organization and method. 8 - Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and communication skills.

Work plan: The Postdoc fellow will join the research group responsible for the application of hyperspectral imaging to viticulture, involved in the development of innovative tools for estimation, identification and classification. The person hired will do experimental field work and will develop machine learning software to process hyperspectral information with the objective of performing a non-destructive analysis, equivalent to the usual
