Research fellowship for postdoctoral in Molecular Biology/ Bioinformatics (1 vaga) REFERÊNCIA: BPD/Enoexel/UTAD/262/2014 It is available one Postdoctoral Research fellowship, within the project ENOEXEL – FROM VINEYARD TO WINE: TARGETING GRAPE AND WINE EXCELLENCY - NORTE-07-0124FEDER-0000032 from Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro, Portugal, financed by the North Portugal Regional Operational Programme (ON.2 – O Novo Norte), under the National Strategic Reference Framework (QREN), through the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER), and also from national funds (PIDDAC) through the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT / MEC ) under the following conditions: Scientific Area: Biological Sciences [and Molecular Genetics or related fields] Admission prerequisites: Ph.D in the area below publicized (work plan).

Work plan: The selected researcher will work in the CGB group of microbiology and biotechnology of wine that studies the biology of yeasts, with the purpose of developing research and data analysis using public and group databases (eg, transcriptome, genome sequences, functional categories, etc.) for the identification of gene functions and comparative analysis of genomes. During the contract period, it is intended that the researcher integrates the scientific team of the CGB and fully contributes to multidisciplinary scientific environment.

Workplace: The work will be developed at the Center for Genomics and Biotechnology, University of Trรกs-osMontes and Alto Douro, under the scientific guidance of Professors Ana Alexandra Mendes Ferreira and Raquel Maria Garcia dos Santos Chaves.

Grant Duration: Grant duration is 6 months starting at June/July 2014, and may be renewed until the end of the project.

Monthly maintenance grant: The grant corresponds to 1.495 euros according to the FCT payment table in Portugal (http://alfa.fct.mctes.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores). Payment is done on a monthly basis through bank deposit, cheque or other equivalent way.

Selection methods: The selection methods are the following: Final score (range 0-5 points) = 0.50 x merit evaluation + 0.30 x adequacy + 0.20x experience - The assessment of merit is scored as follows: scientific publications (70%), communications (20%) and additional training or courses (10%), rated 0-5 values.

- Adequacy of scientific activity according to the Curriculum vitae, ranked 0-5 values; - Experience of the candidate mentioned in the Curriculum vitae, with particular attention to the number of years of research and participation in projects, ranked 0-5 values.

Applying the above criteria, candidates will be ranked. The applicants that achieve the best final rating may be subject to an interview, in person or not.

In the interview, the evaluation will be as follows: aspects related to fluency in English (40%), interest in research careers and particularly with the topics studied in this project (60%). The interview will value the final grade by 30%.
