More than 200,000 firearms like this one are stolen from their owners every year in the United States. In addition, there are more than a thousand suicides each year by younger children and teenagers who get access to firearms. Hundreds more die from accidental discharge. It is likely that many more children sustain serious wounds, or inflict such wounds accidentally on others. In order to limit the chance of such misuse, it is imperative that you keep this weapon locked in a secure place and take other steps necessary to limit the possibility of theft or accident. Failure to take reasonable preventive steps may result in innocent lives being lose, and in some circumstances may result in your liability for these deaths.” “IT IS UNLAWFUL TO STORE OR KEEP A FIREARM, RIFLE, SHOTGUN OR MACHINE GUN IN ANY PLACE UNLESS THAT WEAPON IS EQUIPPED WITH A TAMPER-RESISTANT SAFETY DEVICE OR IS STORED OR KEPT IN A SECURELY LOCKED CONTAINER.”

Safety Warning: Failure to obey a safety warning may result in injury to you, to others, or to the product.

Instructions for the RBL - 28 Edition Caution: Always keep the muzzles pointed in a safe direction. Prior to using live ammunition, familiarize yourself thoroughly with these operating instructions. Know the forces required to operate the action, to pull the trigger and above all, KNOW THE LOCATION OF THE SAFETY. On this shotgun the safety is positioned on the upper tang and is operated with one’s thumb. The safety is in the “on” position when drawn to the rear exposing the word “SAFE” which is engraved in the upper tang. When the safety is pushed forward covering the word “SAFE” the shotgun is ready to fire. Your RBL is equipped with an automatic safety, the safety will move to the “on” position each time the breech is opened.

CAUTION Attention to the direction the opening breach is pointed is critical. Guns equipped with automatic ejectors will propel empty shells with surprising force which can strike an eye or the face. To empty the fired shells, press top lever to right, press downward on the barrels. The discharged shells will eject.

AMMUNITION Your RBL is chambered for 28 gauge 2 žâ€? ammunition only and is intended for use with standard ammunition. We do not recommend reloads of any kind.

REPAIR The only people qualified to work on this gun is CSMC. The gun is specially marked so the company knows if the gun has been worked on by anyone other than CSMC. Any outside work on this gun voids warranty and all CSMC responsibility. MANUFACTURERS NOTE

Please exercise care when assembling forend to barrels. Failure to do so may result in chipping of corners in forend wood in areas shown.

How to Care for your RBL Protect your gun with good gun care products. Give it regular attention, and it will provide you with many years of shooting fun. Important – Clean inside of the barrels and chambers to remove all grease and other possible obstructions before firing your RBL. Remember – Rust is neglect – Make sure all exposed metal surfaces are coated with a film of oil. After being subjected to damp weather, thoroughly wipe out the bore, and wipe off all exposed metal surfaces. Then apply a new film of light oil. The action of you RBL has been lubricated with a light gun oil. Gun care products featuring these qualities are commercially available in spray can applicators. When lubrication is deemed necessary, we recommend a light application of the spray through the firing pin and cocking lever holes in the frame, with the barrels detached and with both hammers cocked.

Conventional protective oil or grease may be applied to the exposed external metal surfaces of your RBL when the gun is to be stored for any lengthy period, BUT THESE TYPES

OF LUBRICANTS SHOULD NEVER BE UTILIZED IN THE ACTION, AS SLUGGISH OPERATION OR DOUBLING IS APT TO RESULT.

Treat EVERY firearm as if it is LOADED

BEFORE LOADING – Place the safety “on” and select the barrel you wish to fire first by pushing the gold shift lever button in the trigger to the right to fire the right barrel first and to the left for the left barrel. A second pull of the trigger will fire the other barrel. TO LOAD – Place the safety in the “on” position. Push the top lever to the right to unlock the breech. Push down on the barrels to open the action. As desired, insert a shell into the chamber of the barrel chosen to be fired first or both. TO FIRE – Firmly shoulder the gun. Push the safety forward to the “off” position and when on target pull the trigger. The second barrel may be fired by simply releasing and pulling the trigger again.

TO UNLOAD OR TO REMOVE THE FIRED SHELLS – The RBL will briskly eject the fired shells and will extract unfired shells far enough to permit easy removal by hand. Push the safety to the “on” position. To avoid being struck by an ejected fired case, direct the breech end of the barrels away from you before opening the action.

When through shooting always put the safety “on”. NEVER STORE A LOADED GUN.
