Juntos por primera vez, Federico Infante y Marcos Zegers comparten una pasión por los espacios, ya sea como un territorio para ser habitado (o deshabitado) en el caso de Zegers o como un marco que contiene y detiene la figura femenina en el caso de Infante. Infante nos trae desde Estados Unidos la última etapa de su pintura: nueve telas en pequeño y mediano formato que giran en torno a la figura femenina. Según sus palabras “Yo creo que la razón mas importante son las ganas de mostrar mis pinturas de nuevo en Chile. Ya van seis años desde la ultima muestra y tanto yo como mi trabajo hemos crecido gracias a las experiencias en NY e Italia (…). Por ejemplo, siento una mayor claridad y madurez a lo hora de comenzar las atmósferas abstractas. Las capas y raspados se yuxtaponen logrando generar un mejor espacio para la intención narrativa de las figuras”. Zegers nos muestra la narración de un viaje por el desierto, un recorrido pausado y profundo por lugares llenos de memoria. Según sus palabras “A través de ciertos elementos que se encuentran dispersos en el desierto de Atacama se comienza a conformar una imagen con guiños a la era de la producción. La descontextualización de estos elementos invita a una reflexión sobre el territorio y la manera en que se habita”. Infraestructuras del Desierto es un proyecto a largo plazo que fue elaborado en sucesivos viajes e investigaciones por el desierto de Atacama. La presente muestra plantea un cruce entre sensaciones de nostalgia e inmensidad y una visión fuertemente arquitectónica que devela un nuevo imaginario del desierto.

Together for the first time, Federico Infante and Marcos Zegers share a passion for spaces, either as a territory to be habited (or uninhabited) in the case of Zegers or as a frame that contains and stops the female figure in the case of Infante. Infante brings us from US the last period of his painting: nine works in small and medium format about the female figure. According to his words “I think the most important reason is the desire to show my paintings again in Chile. It’s been six years since the last exhibition and my work and I have grown thanks to the experiences in NY and Italy (...). For example, I feel more clarity and maturity starting the abstract atmospheres. The layers and scrapes are juxtaposed and managed to generate a better space for the narrative intention of the figures”. Zegers shows us the story of a journey through the desert, a leisurely and deep journey through places full of memory. According to his words “Through certain elements that you can find in the desert of Atacama begins to form an image with winks to the era of the production. The decontextualization of these elements invites a reflection on the territory and the way in which it is lived”. Infrastructures of the Desert is a long-term project that was elaborated in successive trips and investigations in Atacama desert. The present exhibition shows a cross between sensations of nostalgia and immensity and a strongly architectural vision that unveils a new imagery of the desert.

FEDERICO INFANTE Federico Infante Lorca (34 años), Magister en Illustration School of Visual Arts, New York, USA y Licenciado en Artes Visuales con mención pintura, Universidad Finis Terrae, Santiago, Chile. Ha recibido numerosos reconocimientos tanto en Chile como en el extranjero. Dentro de sus exposiciones individuales destaca en 2016 “We can see the wind” en Varese, Italia; en 2014 “The space between”, en galería Berttrand Delacroix, New York, USA; en 2011 “The greenhouse” en Galería Animal, Santiago, Chile. Federico Infante Lorca (34 years), MFA in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts in New York, US and Bachelor of Visual Arts with a mention of painting from Universidad Finis Terrae, Santiago, Chile. He has received numerous awards in Chile and abroad. Within his individual exhibitions, it stands out in 2016 “We can see the wind” in Varese, Italy; in 2014 “The space between”, in the gallery Bertrand Delacroix, New York, US; in 2011 “The greenhouse” at Animal Gallery, Santiago, Chile.

MARCOS ZEGERS Marcos Zegers (30 años), arquitecto de la Universidad Diego Portales, se dedicó a la fotografía arquitectónica. Actualmente es profesor de fotografía en la escuela de Arquitectura de la Universidad Diego Portales. Sus obras han sido difundidas en diversas publicaciones impresas y también en exposiciones en Galería Animal y Galería Ekho. Marcos Zegers (30 years old), architect of the Diego Portales University, is dedicated to architectural photography. He is currently a professor of photography at the Architecture School of Diego Portales University. His works have been shown in several printed publications and also in exhibitions at Animal Gallery and Ekho Gallery.
