José Benmayor escuchó cuando niño a Pablo Domínguez decir que su estilo de pintura era el realismo falso. “Me daba mucha risa y lo escogí de título. Para mi, es copiar lo que encontramos en la realidad desde una perspectiva personal y no tal cual es.” “Esta muestra es una investigación en torno al bodegón y sus posibilidades. Un recorrido por ciertos objetos que poseen desafíos técnicos interesantes a la hora de pintar ya sea por la diversidad de sus formas o por los elementos que encuentro en sus diseños, figuras humanas, animales, geometrías, letras, signos, etc. Si bien algunos de los modelos pueden parecer intrascendentes como los envases de leche o cereales, de alguna manera estos me despertaron, cuando niño y todavía, las ganas de mirar más las cosas que me rodean. En estos trabajos resalto esas particularidades que me atraen y por otra parte, me interesa ver cómo los humanos usan gráficas en las cosas, para identificarlas, darles valor o hacerlas atractivas y la forma en la que se configuran esos lenguajes, como las escrituras o signos que se pueden encontrar en un mapamundi, gráficas tecnológicas, o logos con reminiscencias históricas en envases de pintura o tintas, y el cómo algunos símbolos viajan a través del tiempo siendo representados de infinitas formas. En la pintura trato de hacer sentir situaciones con símbolos reconocibles, que el espectador los sienta cercanos para que pueda armarse una historia a veces trato de transmitirá algo especifico y otras veces no.” Nora Unda describe su proceso creativo como el rescate desde los fragmentos de su memoria, de los recuerdos de su infancia, lo que la ha llevado a hacer una traducción de lenguajes a través de la intuición, interpretando personajes abstractos, creando una desfragmentación de la realidad, dando forma a nuevos relatos visuales basados en paisajes oníricos, inspirados principalmente en la naturaleza, animales y la vida. “Para desarrollar e inmortalizar lo que tengo en mi imaginario utilizo como material principal plasticina, por ser lúdico, volumétrico, transformable y colorido, lo que ha permitido conectarme con fluidez a mi esencia. Actualmente estoy desarrollando la simbología en la manipulación de formas orgánicas, llevándolas a un significado vinculado con el origen de la vida siendo los animales, los principales protagonistas de mis historias.

In the painting I try to make situations with recognizable symbols, that the viewer feels them close so that I can build a story sometimes I try to transmit something specific and sometimes not. “ Nora Unda describes her creative process as the rescue from the fragments of her memory, from the memories of her childhood, which has led her to make a translation of languages through intuition, interpreting abstract characters, creating a defragmentation of reality , giving shape to new visual stories based on dream landscapes, inspired mainly by nature, animals and life. “To develop and immortalize what I have in my imagination I use plasticine as the main material, because it is playful, volumetric, transformable and colorful, which has allowed me to connect fluidly to my essence. Currently I am developing the symbolism in the manipulation of organic forms, taking them to a meaning linked to the origin of life being the animals, the main protagonists of my stories.

JOSE BENMAYOR José Benmayor nació en Santiago, en 1985. Estudió arte en la universidad Finis Terrae y se tituló de licenciado en pintura. Aparte de pintar telas, pinta graffitis y hace animaciones. Ha pasado por varios talleres de los que vale la pena rescatar a Julio Prado y el taller de Angamos, donde comparte con otros artistas. Ha participado de diversas exposiciones colectivas, Producto de fabrica (con Margarita Dittborn), sin título (Matucana 100), Suburbia Madness (Galería 13). Hizo su primera expo individual en el Salón Tudor el 2009 “Del jugo de naranja a la ballena cósmica”. También ha estado presente en distintas ferias de arte como Chaco (Chile), Arte Ba (Argentina) y Art Bo (Colombia). Sus referentes están en una mezcla de los cartoons que veía de niño, y los pintores como Basquiat, Guston, Otto Dix, también el graffiti, y artistas como Margaret Kilgallen , Chris Johanson, Barry Mc Gee, Marcel Dzama, Richard Coleman. José Benmayor was born in Santiago, in 1985. He studied art at Finis Terrae University and graduated with a degree in painting. Apart from painting fabrics, he paints graffiti and makes animations. NORA UNDA Nora Unda nació en Santiago, en 1982. Estudió arte en la Universidad de Chile licenciándose es Plástica y Escultura con distinción máxima. Recibió el premio a mejor stand por obras de arte en FAXXI 2017.También recibe el segundo lugar en el concurso de arte CARAS FAXXI para la revista CARAS, la cual reprodujo 15.000 ejemplares impresos de la obra “Gallitos de la Pasión”. Ha recibido numerosas disticiones y premios, ademñás de la Beca de Excelencia Académica en sus estudios universitarios. Nora Unda was born in Santiago, in 1982. She studied art at the University of Chile, graduating in Plastic and Sculpture with maximum distinction. He received the prize for best stand for works of art in FAXXI 2017. He also received the second place in the CARAS FAXXI art contest for the magazine CARAS, which reproduced 15,000 printed copies of the work “Gallitos de la Pasión”.
