"We're in the neighborhood of Guillotière, which is known to house many immigrants from different countries and continents. Happens that a new City Hall project foresees the demolition of several houses and historical buildings in this region to build a broad avenue, bringing modernity at the expense of loss of heritage and especially the withdrawal of former residents. My painting is part of a series of events and protests against this action of the City Hall."

This is the nostalgic Sarasota so fondly recalled by longtime residents at its quintessential best. Sarasota as it was from the mid 20’s through the mid 50’s; the Sarasota that came alive during the Roaring 20’s real estate boom, and remained intact through that era's bust, Great Depression and World War II.

“This mural makes reference in an image from the 50’s at São Paulo. In this paint, I talk about the São João avenue, highlighting Martinelli building and the old Altino Arantes building, known as Banespa, both at downtown. Of all iconographic research that I have made, this image is the most beautiful, because it shows all the fullness of the old cities, with trams, buildings and elegantly dressed people”, says the artist, who adds: “There is a hidden message, something subliminal in this mural, which is precisely my unconditional love for São Paulo, my hometown where I live for 35 years, and that is the basis of everything I do artistically.”

MURALS Greenpincel Series
The Greenpincel Project concern is to denounce, through art, the destruction of nature by humans, their activities on the planet and the dire consequences. As we see in the words of the artist: "All the natural disasters that have happened on our planet show that protect animals and nature as a whole is also a way to protect the human being. I decided it was time to put this theme in my work as an artist."

Anamorphic Painting 3D Series
Outdoor Project | Sarasota Chalk Festival | Sarasota | Florida | 2011
A 3D shot inside the library Eduardo Kobra painted for the Festival. "The most important thing was to learn, socialize and learn, especially with all these great artists," Kobra said.
Painting Canvas
Eduardo Kobra was born in São Paulo, 1976. Lives and works in São Paulo, SP, Brazil. Self-taught, he is a pioneer in anamorphic painting technique – 3D painting – in Latin America. Eduardo Kobra is an avant-garde artist. His talent emerges around 1987, on the outskirts of São Paulo, and soon spread to the city. Following the development that urban art gained in São Paulo, he converged – with Studio Kobra, created in the decade of 1990 – to an original mural painting, taking advantage of his characteristics as an experimental artist, good designer and skilled realistic painter. In this way he develops the project “Walls of Memory”, which goal is to transform the urban landscape through art and bring back the memories of the city. A synthesis of his peculiar creative process, whereby he paints but also sticks, overlaps and interferes with scenes and characters from the first decades of the twentieth century. This project is a joint of nostalgia and modernity, resulting in scenographic paintings, some of them monumental. Through these portals to create nostalgic moments of the city, the largest of these murals, measuring 1000 m2, was held in 2009 at Avenida 23 de Maio in celebration of the anniversary of Sao Paulo. Kobra presents works that are rich in trace, light and shadow. The result is a series of three-dimensional murals that allow the public to interact with the work. The idea is to establish a balance between the romantic air and the atmosphere of nostalgia, with constant turmoil characteristic of large cities like Sao Paulo nowadays Upcoming projects: 2012 Mural at Brooklyn, New York, NY, USA 2012 Paintings, Blast Gallery, Paris, France Main exhibitions 2012 Palm Beach Art Fair, Miami, USA 2012 Mural Senac Morumbi, São Paulo, SP, Brazil 2012 Private Collection Cintia Yunes 2011 Mural Basel Miami, Miami, EUA 2011 Sarasota Chalk Festival, Miami, EUA 2011 Creation of the Project Greenpincel, combat art to the aggressions of Man Nature 2011 Paraíso, group exhibition at Galeria de Arte André, São Paulo, SP, Brazil 2011 The history of the Complexo do Alemão, a series of 12 murals, Complexo do Alemão, Rio de Jáneiro, RJ, Brazil 2011 Mural, Lyon, França 2011 Mural, Londres, na Roundhouse, Camden Town, London, UK 2011 Mural, 48 m², UNE Biennale, São Paulo, SP, Brazil 2010 First 3D paint on the floor of Brazil, Patriarch Plaza, São Paulo,SO, Brazil 2009 Mural of 1000 m² in the Avenue 23 de Maio, commemorating the anniversary of São Paulo, São Paulo, SP, Brazil 2009 2010 View from another angle, urban intervention in painting in three dimensions em pintura em três dimensões, São Paulo, SP, Rio de Janeiro, RJ e Brasília, DF, Brazil 2009 Production Panel, 8th International Architecture Biennale, São Paulo, SP, Brazil 2009 Salon National Des Beaux-Arts, Paris, France
