“Gallaudet University has enabled me to flourish. Without Gallaudet, I would have not found myself as a strong, independent, young Deaf woman.” Tiasha Bera, ’14 Potomac, Maryland B.S., Business Administration M.P.A. candidate, Gallaudet University
“Classes here are unlike any I’ve ever experienced. I grew up oral, and sign language was foreign to me. Here at Gallaudet, ASL is our pride and joy and it’s everywhere—especially in the classrooms. This is a visual university, so it is essential that everyone is able to see one another. The professors encourage active learning—making lectures more engaging and pushing students to become leaders inside and outside the classroom.” Taja Brown, ’16 Lexington, Kentucky B.S., Business Administration
“I didn’t realize how much I was missing in the hearing world before I came to Gallaudet. With full communication access, I received all the information I might have missed if it were spoken. Gallaudet helped me find my identity. In turn, I want to inspire people to improve themselves, by helping them realize they are able to go beyond what they think they’re capable of doing.” Chase Magsig, ’16 Hudsonville, Michigan B.S., Physical Education and Recreation
