On our site and social media, we will promote artists for low cost to reach out to other galleries around the world. Artist Marcus Carlsson runs this project, so already works for artplu.com and you can also visit artbymac.se. He used to have a physical gallery in Lund (2012) and Ystad Sweden for five years. Why you start work has an artist? I regulary get such question from people following me and my art. And I always give the one answer - because I could’t choose something else in my life. It is more like the artist’s work chose me, not the opposite. I can compare it with an inner light. When you look into it you see that is your unique life path lightened by someone. And you just follow it because you feel it is your mission. It will light you while you will be doing what you have to do and and what you love to do. And this light will touch all the people around you.

What do you select your subject matter? I came to erotic art, experimenting and being in search of myself. ! I am driven by the desire to explore the nature of my own sexuality and human in a whole through the prism of my art.! I get inspired with human sensuality, feelings, emotions, body movements and expressions. ! Erotism has been existing in art through the times. And I am here to convey it in my personal way.
How do you create one of your works/What's unique or unusual about your technique/ process? The first person I often get inspired is myself. For someone this may seem overconfident. But I think it is absolutely normal when the love, passion and the desire to create come primarily from within youself and from self-love and self- enjoyment. If you are lack of love inside, then there will be nothing to express through the art. ! Therefore, before I start creating art or sometimes during the process, I need to get a dose of inspiration from myself, enjoying myself and the moments. Often I take my own sensual pictures, watch erotic or any other inspiring movies, turn on tantric music, meditate, light candles with a glass of my favorite tannin wine - all this creates the necessary atmosphere, which contributes to creating art as I see it inside myself.

Did you begin with this style or was it an evolution? Of course it is an evolution. Everything in our life evolves. Otherwise, the degradation process is reversed. I am growing, my views and attitude to what is happening around are changing, my sense of myself, perception of the world and other people is developing, I am becoming more versatile, the range of emotions I live is expanding, mindfulness is growing. Along with this, my art style is developing. It is highly interconnected.

Charles Ziegler art collector My name is Charles Ziegler. I live in Summit Hill, PA. Born in Philadelphia, PA in May of 1958. I am a former truck driver for the Post Office. I was hurt on the job about a month after 9-11 Collecting art started with a prayer to God when my Mother had cancer. I was worried about her, and all the Doctors said that once she had the operation. That she would be fine. I still worried, and I said a prayer to God asking for to help to take my mind off of all the worrying I was doing. And since everyone said that my Mother would be fine. Ask for help to stop worrying. With in a few days I started to get bombarded with the words "Jackson Pollock" repeatedly. Soon after that I bought my first Jackson Pollock painting. I prefer art that looks good and tells a story, And that's how it started. Believe it or not... And by the way. My Mom is just fine. Thank you! Some of the Artist I have collected are Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning, his wife Elaine de Kooning, Franz Kline, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Hans Hofmann, Mark Rothko, and a few others. Here are a few of my favorite paintings. "Love & War" By Jackson Pollock. Made in 1943. "Opaque" by Willem de Kooning. Made in 1964. "Hands Up" by Jean-Michel Basquiat. Made in 1982.

Why you start work has an artist? From a very young age I liked to draw and paint and began to train in different disciplines related to art, then I studied design and later studied with some masters of the plastic arts.
What do you select your subject matter? Observing nature and all the wonders it offers to our senses.
How do you create one of your works / What's unique or unusual about your technique / process? I start from the observation of elements of nature and carry out a process of abstraction of them emphasizing color. I work applying a lot of layers and glazes and sometimes I alter the color schemes in an unconventional way.
Did you begin with this style or was it an evolution? In my artistic work there has always been evolution, which is manifested, not only in long periods of creation, but in the development of a work itself. When I work on a painting, a dialogue is produced with it, which generates dynamics that make the work evolve.
How would you describe your work? Here I must differentiate between the painting process and the result; as I said before, when creating a work, I start from the observation of natural elements and carry out a process of abstraction with an emphasis on color; As for the result, it is there and it is up to the viewer to get an idea of it. On the other hand, I like that my paintings awaken pleasant feelings in the viewer.

Do you learn from criticism of your work? Of course, as long as it is a serious and argued criticism.
How has social media affected your work? The creation process has nothing to do with social media; these can simply be a means of promoting the work and communicating with different actors in the artistic environment.
What's your future plan? By the end of this year there are a couple of exhibitions in Europe and a solo show is being planned for next year; and of course continue painting.

Why you start work has an artist? The mountains and especially the alps have always fascinated me. From a young age, in every country I lived in and travelled to, I was always drawn to those giants and their surroundings. Nature in general, but mostly mountain regions, are taking me to an elevated state of mind, a profound feeling of secureness, strength and inner peace. Capturing the dramatic alpine landscapes and making them accessible for everyone was an instant inner longing after relocating to Switzerland.

What do you select your subject matter? I am totally in love with alpine regions. While uncertainty and volatility are crawling into our every day lifes, majestic alpine giants are standing their ground, unimpressed from the wordly hectic and worries at their feet. With their attention directed towards the sky, their strength has been inspiring menkind for millenniums. Higher grounds are places of purification, taking us on a journey of density and enlightment within the clouds, leading us to new beginnings if we let them. I really think the world is changing and things will never be the same. We should move on to new ways, new thinking and new adventures! The alps help me with that.

How do you create one of your works/What's unique or unusual about your technique/ process? I basically spend all of my time road tripping and mountain hiking at alpine regions, steep mountain faces and higher grounds, being one with nature, taking in all the beauty it has to offer. When you are up there in the stillness for days and weeks, nature starts talking to you. You are starting to see life in another light. Those are very humbling moments where you slowly realize what matters in life and what not. And if you are lucky, nature lets you experience breathtaking light and shadow plays. Those dramatic mountain landscapes are my subjects, if nature lets me. Magic realistic storytelling and playing with light and shadow is my signature style. Why have you started to work as an artist? It was impossible for me to avoid that, I have always felt longing for art. Everything I come across in life leaves traces that can only be unleashed through the paints. And the only thing that matters in this act of creation and holiness is the intention to capture the passing emotion in eternity. This is my conscious artist’s way. I have chosen irrational emotional painting to cultivate my own memory and spirituality through the colors and textures.
What do you select as your subject matter? Through my paintings, I am seeking to capture the millennial experience. The goal is to express the feelings, identify the angst and establish the position that belongs to my generation. What is our generation of millennials, how do we differ from our parents who grew up in a totalitarian country and from the next generation, which is already living in a completely different pace and different dimension? And what about us, why did our generation find themselves in a certain gap, why did few of us become famous and truly successful? Who is to blame for not listening to us? Isn’t it us ourselves? My subject matter is a portrait of a certain generation that cannot yet fully feel free and therefore, in my opinion, remains unheard of by society. But gradually we are spreading our wings and it is us — the millennials — with all our emotions, creative and philosophical pursuits that are forming a new society and its cultural level today. It is the emotional ©

appeal of the younger generation that wants to be heard.
What's unique or unusual about your technique? I am really into impasto. It’s a gorgeous technique used in painting, where paint is laid on the surface in very thick layers, so the paint seems to be coming out of the canvas. I am successfully combining abstraction with figurative. It reasonably seems to me that I found something important for myself, for my visual expressions. I was told numerous times that my paintings are very specific and I would hardly be able to sell them, but I never stopped. Today, some newly created works are instantly bought. This is very essential for me, because I understand that people are eager to see my art. Therefore I realized that you do not need to pay attention to fashion trends or tastes of the public. You should create something so that your art is honest, and then it will definitely intrigue the audience.

Did you begin with this style or was it an evolution? I used to produce abstract pieces, emotional landscapes and portraits etc. This particular story began with the online auction "Stay Art Home". The artists who participated had to paint a picture during the live streams, and the people made bets in the equivalent of medical masks, which were then aimed at protecting doctors. However, the theme was not related to the pandemic - each artist decided what to draw about. In the process of creating the work, the name arose by itself. My curator mentioned a painting by Titian's brush, which depicts a very handsome blue-eyed man named Ippolito Riminaldi. I immediately realized that this is a very rare name these days and it would be perfect for the character I was drawing. Thus came Hippolytus and Hippolytism.
How would you describe your work? “My essence is colours, and I expose them in front of you. I openly and without any embarrassment demonstrate to you my inner nature, the nature of a real person and a genuine artist. I give up my masks and look you straight in the eyes — will you perceive, will you endure? On my artworks now are all my riddles and all the answers, dreamy memories and reflective thoughts, traces of all the people I have ever met. I see the world this way, can you relate?" It is visual poetry of powerful and radical expression. My paintings embrace themselves with intuitive colour choices, appropriate accents, and meaningful shadows and scratches, that are worth long-lasting investigation.
Do you learn from criticism of your work? The background in the art studies has evoked my obsession with art, travelling to galleries and exhibitions created a unique style. This style is a narrative of different forces, that influence me as an artist both from the inside and the outside. No doubt, my artworks often appear to be a subject to criticism. I always listen to my close people and colleagues, their uninfluenced visions are often mentoring me. I let the Universe and its signs be my guiding stars. ©

gallerym.se
How has social media affected your work? I run my Instagram every day, use it to show my art and studio processes, cover some important art events and register those who want to visit my master classes. And COVID-19 lockout was a difficult period, but at the same time it allowed us to think and start looking for alternative solutions. I did not want to remain stagnant, so together with TUASHO and FFFACE we launched an Instagram filter with my exhibition. This is a unique project, thanks to it everyone is able to experience my virtual exhibition and view the paintings directly through the smartphone screen.
What's your future plan? Regarding art and creativity, I have various experimental ambitions and practice all the time, developing even more of my style. I have plenty of ideas for evolving and mastering my series, including new compositions and colour combinations. Over the last year I had two personal exhibitions at 2 high ranked Kyiv art institutions. I am looking forward to expanding my audience and establishing myself at a global scale. I am certainly excited about the Asian art market, that would be Art Basel Hong Kong, for instance. I am willing to get my style recognizable and remarkable both online and offline.

9 simple rules for a great Instagram account. Since I’ve started working with artists on growing their sales and audience as part of my consultancy services, I’ve looked at hundreds of Instagram accounts to understand what makes for a great and effective online presence. During this journey, I’ve learnt a few things from artists who have built an engaged audience of thousands of art-lovers. I want to share with you how they leverage their Instagram account to sell their works to their followers.
1. Make it easy for people to find you on Instagram People follow thousands of Instagram accounts. This means that they will see hundreds of posts in their feed every day. If they liked something you posted earlier in the week which they want to see again, you have to make it easy for them to find your account. Instagram indexes both your account handle and your account name. Instagram also sorts search results by relevance: it shows first the accounts you follow and interact most with. Therefore, you want the beginning of your account handle or name to be easy to remember. In the example below, as soon as I started typing the first few letters of Alexandria Coe’s name, Instagram suggested her account. I can never quite remember her full name (is it Alexandra? or Alexa?), but I never fail to find her account whenever I want to see what she’s been up to recently: that’s exactly what you should aim for too.

2. Post once a day, no more no less Posting once a day is exactly the right frequency for several reasons. First, it builds the expectation and habit into your followers that, every day, they will see or learn something from you. But at the same time, you are not flooding their feeds, which would definitely lead to many unfollows: people are on Instagram to see diverse content. Moreover, some people worry that if they don’t post every hour or so their followers will miss their posts. That’s not the case: Instagram feeds are not chronological. If your followers interact regularly with your content, Instagram will make sure they see each and every one of your posts, no matter when you publish them. Engagement is king: Instagram wants people to interact, not to merely see things.

3. Give some context about your works When you post one of your works, give some context about it in the caption. Tell your audience more about the technical process, how the work relates to your artistic practice, what you struggled with, what you particularly like about it, and so on. What people are looking for are narratives they can relate to. They see many images every day, whereas interesting stories are extremely rare. You can write up to 2200 characters in a caption, which is about 450 words. Remember that you can put hashtags in the comments rather than in the caption, so you have the full 2200 characters to give as many compelling details as possible. There are very nice tools online to do character counting for you. I personally use https://wordcounter.net/character-count, which is ad-free,

4. Introduce your art practice once a week When I visit an artist’s Instagram account, I always look for a summary post where the artist introduces themselves and their artistic practice. I recommend posting a video of yourself giving a tour of your studio, where you tell your audience about your art practice. It’s also an opportunity to show your most recent works. It’s completely fine if you film yourself with your phone and if the quality is not perfect. It will feel authentic and help people relate to you. Don’t spend more than an hour on it. Making such a video every week has the added benefit of forcing you to rehearse talking about your art regularly. The more you do it, the better you will be in a situation where it matters: during interviews or face to face meetings with collectors. Finally, don’t worry about showing similar content every week to your long time followers. First, it’s very important that you introduce yourself to your new followers to nurture your recent relationship. Then, long time followers who don’t interact with your content aren’t shown your posts by Instagram anymore. And those who still do can’t get enough of you!
5. Put a face and a personal story behind your works Talking about your art and the narrative behind it is very important, but so is telling people more about you as a person. That’s how you will build a deep and meaningful relationship with your audience. Not only will they be interested in your work from an intellectual perspective, but they will have empathy for you. The first step is to take pictures of yourself next to your works: you want people to put a face behind your art. Then, once a week, tell your audience a personal story which happened to you recently. Did a film moved you, are you binge-watching a TV show? Did you splash paint all over your new carpet? Some people are protective of their personal lives. If that’s your case, you can show yourself working on one of your pieces rather than sharing more intimate stories. ©

6. Make it clear which artworks are for sale Don’t be afraid to put a price tag on your works. People who follow you do it because they like your works. They will be happy to know whether they can also afford your art and to support you in your career. Moreover, you have to be explicit. People cannot guess which of your works are available: their default assumption will be that you don’t want to sell your works online if you don’t say so.
©
gallerym.se
gallerym.se
Finally, although money is a big taboo in the art community, you must absolutely embrace being open about the fact that, if art is your true calling, it also involves making a living from it.
7. Communicate about the works you’ve sold Whenever you sell a work, share the good news with your audience. Not only do people like good news in general and will share your enthusiasm, but there’s another very important benefit to it: people are more likely to buy your works if they know that other people did. This is called social proof and is used with great success by many businesses. Knowing that other people found your works worthy of the expense will convince those who are hesitant about a purchase. Try to make the post a bit personal: the more information you give about your new collectors, the more people will identify with them and the more likely they are to acquire a piece. A technique I recommend is to ask your collectors to share with you a picture of your work in their homes.
Š

8. Make it simple for people to buy your artworks Now that you’ve made it clear to your audience that you are selling your works online, you need to make it easy for those who are interested to see which of your works are available. Your bio is the best place to direct people to where they can purchase your works. Don’t put a link to your website’s landing page. Put a link directly to your shop. If you don’t have one, I’ll show you in another article how easy it is nowadays to set up one with platforms like Shopify and Etsy. On your shop, for each artwork, don’t forget to give details about the story behind it and how it relates to your practice: people are buying your works not only for their aesthetic qualities but because they relate to them.

9. Sell at different price points Your Instagram audience will be very diverse. In a given week, show works at different price points. Think about how you can create pieces which can be afforded by followers from the lower-income spectrum: good art should be for everyone. It also won’t detract people who want to buy more expensive pieces. On the contrary, as people who bought some of your less expensive work progress in their career, they will be able to afford more expensive pieces from an artist they’ve been collecting for some time already. Finally, more affordable artworks bring two additional benefits. First, they give you a steady stream of income. Then, the more people collect your works, the more people become your advocates to their friends and family, telling them what an amazing artist you are. In turn, some of these friends and family might purchase your works. This effect is called compounding: it’s an extremely powerful mechanism to accelerate your success.

Conclusion I hope you found these few recommendations insightful. I recommend that you assess how you are currently doing against each of them. If you were completely honest, would you give yourself a pass or a fail? Start with your bio, which is the most straightforward to improve. Then start being more explicit about the fact that your works are available for sale. Start putting prices, expand your captions to give more background about each piece. Don’t be shy and share more about yourself and your art practice with your followers. It’s very rewarding when people interact with your content! If you want some tailored help with improving your content strategy on Instagram, you can book an hour or two of consultancy with me. You can also follow me on Instagram to see how I put my advice into practice. See you next time!

Call for artist https://gallerinijenkamp.dk/ Galleri Nijenkamp is a Danish fine art gallery, which opened for the first time in March 2013. The gallery, which has been closed since March 2015 after two exceptional years of permanent artists, 1000 square meters and changing exhibitions year-round, re-opened on 01.02.2018. Galleri Nijenkamp is still visionary about the art industry, and the gallery's goal is - in a creative and accessible way - to reach out and enrich people's lives with the world of art and possibilities. We are therefore looking forward to welcoming you to Galleri Nijenkamp anno 2018.

He incorporates the emotions he is feeling during the time of creation and tries to provoke a feeling of serenity for the viewer, using the emotional aspect of color and setting. A theme that surrounds his art and has intrigued his imagination since he started creating was the idea of enlightenment; what that term represents, and how humanity is in a constant struggle to achieve this transcendental state. The psychedelic nature of Adam’s style moves the audience to feel its strength, providing a window into the heart of its creator. https://www.adamstarrart.com/

My photographic subject ma/er usually revolves around scenes and landscapes that I come across in nature. There is a spiritual essence to each photographic, as if the viewer were entering a dream. I am trying to showcase the state of mind I am in when I am crea*ng. My goal is to transport the viewers to another realm. I love to create art, and with my contemporary abstract oil paintings, I hope to reach the hearts of the spectators and make them happy. Born in Hamburg, Germany, I’m now living in Luxemburg for about twenty years. I always loved paintings as well as to paint. I’m mostly a self-taught artist who took only a few courses. But it was not until some life-changing events in 2017 and 2018, that I decided to take my art more professional and make a career out of it. Now, I ‘m in a new phase of my life: an art-life. In the beginning I worked realistically, but over the years I learned that in abstract art I can better express myself and today more or less all my works are abstract paintings. These abstract landscapes reflect my love for colour and nature. And that’s also where I get my inspiration from. While painting I’m building the oil colours in several layers with a colour palette ranging from soft and serene to vibrant and invigorating. I love to experiment with colours, so that my artwork becomes extraordinary. Colours are important for me, because they can show the full range of human emotions and experiences. My expressive technique is based on my wish to achieve balance and to reach beauty in the contrasting forces that exist everywhere. The creative process during a painting is an interplay between accuracy and intuitive impulses, like my thin splashes of paint with the spatula, which give every work its characteristic touch. All my paintings are my inspiration translated to the canvas to create a communication with the viewer. My aim is coming to a stage where I inspire the people looking at my pictures to consider more carefully the world around them and to discover the beauty in nature and everywhere around us.

In life as in my paintings I am deeply inspired by nature. Because I love and respect nature so much, I try to protect it by showing its magic on my canvases. Ever since I was a child, from my first drawings, nature appears as a leitmotif profoundly meaningful to me even when I make portraits. I let my imagination to be exhilirated by it and to develop fully into the serenity of my artwork. I love to "steal" from nature all the elements such as the vibrid colors and the reflection of lights and to put them in my compositions. I use both organic and inorganic media -they merge on the canvas -- they stay alive and recycle. Everything that is shiny in my art symbolizes the walk into a fantastic world where the fairy tales come alive and all of the elements of the universe intertwine. As I paint, bright red, forest green, deep blue mixes with glitter to create a play of light and to add a sense of texture to the image. The natural materials such as sand, flower petals and copper, create a dreamlike world in which figures take on the appearance of magical creatures. A vision or even a word becomes fascination which turns into color and shadows which tell a new story in this dimension of infinity. It happens often when I go to bed that I have colors, images, bits of nature and life in my mind. Many times I dream about what I will paint the next day -- the raving beauty of the nature, her colors, her mien -she guides me when I paint. The techniques of painting that I utilize give my soul the freedom to "dance" onto canvas -- to create the beauty that surrounds me -- to be at peace with the world.

Photographer Sophia Hviid discovers her interest in photography at a very early age. She established her own photo studio in Copenhagen in 2012. Here she works with fashion photography, portraits, exhibitions and workshops. What distinguishes her pictorial style is the movement between light and dark. A collision between something extremely bright and almost puritan, against a bleak mood in different variations where you get captured in a room of mystery, drama and life’s great existential questions. Sophia Hviid says: “I enjoy giving rawness an aesthetic form, thereby communicating in a room of escapism and presence. To blur obscure or reveal a truth. I work therefore typically at the subconscious level, letting imagination, naked truth and the intuitive seduce me, until I meet a result. What has left it`s mark as the driving force, is not an academic approach, but the experiences in my own journey of life” WEBSITE: https://www.sophiahviid.com/

I was born in Sydney, Australia but have lived away for the last 15 years in Singapore and The Netherlands. Travel and the sea are my main inspiration and subject matter. I have a degree in fine art from City Art Institute (now UNSW) in Sydney where I majored in drawing (working chiefly with the figure) and was lucky enough to have tutors such as a Kevin Connor and Alun Leach-Jones. I have turned to painting in the last couple of years using acrylic, water colour and gouche. I work mostly from photographs and sketchbook drawings and en plein air on my travels. I make work based on the landscape/seascape sometimes pushing more towards abstraction. I work quickly, experiencing the texture of the paint, using memory and the contemplative act of painting itself to create feeling rather than a realistic interpretation of my subject. Less

Ella Gud Russia
Ella left her native home of Russia at 17 years old, hungry for adventures. She found those adventures living in an exotic country that was full of surprises - China. Growing into an adult in a foreign place brought a diverse set of challenges and complexities. Ella lived about 10 different lives while building herself as an individual - losing everything and picking herself up, fighting for her place in this world, and falling again. She never gave up and always found her own strength to fight, learn, adjust, and win. Losing and building yourself again from scratch, no matter what, regardless of what anyone else thinks, becoming the your true self and relishing in it - that's the main theme which you can see in Ella's art.
