LEONTINE
She is someone who is very careful about what she says and who she says it in front of, but very open to those that she allows to get close to her. She is very caring and honest. She is someone that will make your face light up whenever you see her. Leontine is someone that is hard to get off your mind once you meet, and is a gift every time you see her.
A year ago Cathrine and I talked about the possibility of her creating a new exhibition for Paul Scott Gallery. My intention was to challenge her to do a group of paintings that were raw, spontaneous, fluid and not overthought. For someone who attacks a blank canvas with no inhibitions and is good at it, I was hoping such a body of smaller works would be a welcomed challenge to her.

Definitions aside, it is nice to see such a talented artist untethered and unfiltered. Cathrine always captures the feminine mystique in an impactful way. I hope you enjoy these great paintings as much as I do!

Well, here you go! Cathrine not only eagerly took on the task, but she did so with the originality and energy of the consummate professional who is constantly pushing innovation. “Leontine” (lionlike) seemed a fitting name for her efforts. The women in her paintings are pure and full of strong emotional impact. They possess an abundance of confidence, a little vulnerability, mystery and even a little mischief. In the urban dictionary “leontine” has taken on a new definition:
