ThePediatric Rheumatology Programat Children’s HospitalNew Orleansoffers specializedcarefor children and adolescents with chronicrheumatic and autoimmune disorders.
Patients arereferreddue to symptoms such as jointswelling, stiffness,fevers, rashes, fatigueand chronicinflammation,which can be indicative of autoimmune conditions.Early diagnosis is crucialasthese conditions can vary in severity andimpactvarious aspectsof achild’s health anddevelopment.
Ourmultidisciplinaryteamprovides individualized care usingstate-of-the-art technology to ensure each patientreceives thehighest qualitytreatment. My husbandand Iloveexploringthe city on weekends.Ifthe weatherpermits,wedothison ourbikes or longwalks,usually accompanied by ourtwo dogs.Ialsospend lots of time gardeningonweekends andwelovehosting andhanging outwithfriends
What’s your favorite NewOrleans restaurant so far?
There’ssomanytochoosefrom! This is truly atough one. IloveThe SpottedCat on Frenchmen;their live musicisthe best.Val’s is ourfavoritelocal hangoutspotbecause it is just afew minuteswalk. IamsosureIstill haven’tchecked outalot of restaurantsand haven’tbeen to asingle museum yet!
What areyourhobbies?
Well,there’s alot of things Ilikedoing!Ilove gardening,bothoutdoorsand houseplants. I have an indoor plantcollectionthatIloveto boastabout.I also love readingand canspend evenings readingaNYT bestseller or Brene Brown’sinspirational works. When Iwas in Mississippi, Iran adog rescue with my husband
andwhile we don’t have thebandwidthto do that anymore, we still foster forour local shelters.Ialsoworkout 5daysaweekdoing strength andkickboxinginmylittlehomegym

Children’s Hospitalhas such afriendlyculture andcommunity.Ifeelveryacceptedhereeven though Ihaveonlybeenherefor ayear. Ilove howeveryoneknows each otherand will stop in hallways to talk (including Lou, ourCEO).

We arealsoveryengaged in research partnering with national organizations such as Childhood arthritisand rheumatology research alliance

Wormwoodisbitter.Inthecaseof ToulouseRed,theaniseisprominent, soit’sonthesweeterside,moreonthe licoriceside.Icallthatthenew-school Americanabsinthe.WithToulouse Green,thewormwoodismoreprominent.It’samoreclassic,moreFrench style.Oneoftheideasthatcametome whenIwasworkingonthebluewasto makeitmorefennelforward.
Oneaspectofabsintheflavoringis thatwhenyouhaveagreenabsinthe, it’sfirstdistilledandthenitgoes throughasecondaryinfusion.The secondaryinfusionwithgreenherbs notonlyaddsgreencolor,butalso
