Heideckerhasplayedmusicthroughouthiscareer.InadditiontoTV sketches,he’salsoreleasedseveral albumsrootedinsatire.
In2011,hereleasedanalbumabout theGOPpresidentialcandidateand formerGodfatherPizzaCEO,Herman Cain.“Cainthology:SongsintheKeyof Cain”riffedonthingslikethelatepolitician’s9-9-9taxplan.Heidecker’s2017 albumaboutDonaldTrump,“TooDumb forSuicide,”includedodestoMAGA andCommerceSecretaryWilburRoss, aswellasthetune“SentencingDay.” Unrelatedtopolitics,hisYellowRiver Boysbandleanedintocountrymusicfor songsmostlyabouturination.

Moreover,comparedtotheother finalists,Woodforkhasfewer,shallwe say,egregiousmarksagainsther.She hasn’t,forinstance,killedanyoneafter gettingoffapartybus,likeoneofher fellowfinalists.
Butthatdoesn’tmeanWoodfork’s recordisexemplary.Infact,she’sfaced multipledisciplinaryactions,accordingtoWWL-TV.Shewassuspended threetimesforlyingtoinvestigators aboutpersonalrelationshipswithother NOPDofficersandhaddomesticabuse complaintsfiledagainsther.In2005, shewassubjecttodemotionforlying toinvestigatorsandbeingnegligentin herduties.
Morerecently,Woodforkhasserved aspointpersonforNOPDrecruitment. Byanyreasonablemeasure,that efforthasbeenafailure.Despiteclear evidencetothecontrary,NOPDand Cantrellhaveproppedupstrawmenas excusesforNOPD’simplodingmanpowernumbers.
Theadministration’sexcusesrange frompublichostilitytowardpoliceto
alackofnewsquadcars.Meanwhile, WoodforkandCantrellhaveignored whatdepartingofficersrepeatedlycite astheirreasonsforleaving:corruption, cronyismandnepotism.
ThefailuresofWoodfork’srecruitmenteffortsaren’tjustamatterof publicsafety.They’realsostartingto costthecitysignificantsumsofmoney. AsthepubliclearnedearlierinJuly, NOPD’sstaffinglevelhasshrunktothe pointthatbeginningthismonth,the citywillbefinedtensofthousandsof dollarsamonthbytheMunicipalPolice EmployeeRetirementSystem.
NOPDandtheCantrelladministrationhaveknownformonths,ifnot years,thatthefineswerecoming,yet theyhidthatfactfromtheCityCouncil andthepublicuntilrecently

WhileWoodforkandotherofficers wereclearedofwrongdoing,their showofforcesentaclearmessageto Batisteandthepublic:Don’tgettoo vocalagainstcertainpeople.
Thisraisesareasonableconcern aboutWoodfork,shouldshebecome chief.Wouldsheusethevastpowerof theNOPDtosilencecriticsofNOPD, Cantrellortheirallies?
