Seeing the beauty in imperfection.
//CONC EPT //CONCEPT STATEMENT STATEM ENT As a designer, graduating past the pursuit of perfection in the chase of an artistic expression that coveys raw, human emotion, I have pushed myself to go deeper and find meaning within disorder; order within entropy. Through all my works, and all of the Graphic Design that I delve into as a means to a greater expression, the one constant is the idea of a “glitch”. When perfection is irrelevant, imperfection reigns supreme. When a piece is complete, the sum of its imperfections—all its little glitches—come together to form the finished product. These glitches, while a work is in progress, can also serve as gateways to other solutions and expressions. By embracing these glitches, the idea of impossibility becomes just as irrelevant as the idea of perfection. By embracing imperfection and the glitches in my design, I’m controlling chaos.

// PROJ //PROJECT_01 ECT 01 Project Title: AERH Year: 2016 Project Description: The AERH Space Exploration Program is a prime candidate for an intimately cohesive media system of complementary visual elements. In order to create this complex system, I employed a number of solutions all of which had their own series of steps leading to completion. By focusing on a specific topic and crafting the visual elements for a specific target audience, I was able to put together a system that not only satisfied stakeholders, but conveyed its primary visual objectives. Concept Statement: Interest in space exploration is just beginning, and the industry once more. With so many exoplanet missions on the horizon, spreading the grandeur of space exploration across all visual mediums, and empowering an audience to be enamored by its potential, will help leverage interest in space exploration for years to come— while allowing AERH to stand at the forefront as an industry leader. The main idea of creating the VR application is to make users feel involved in space exploration. Registered users can participate in real life space explorations by donating money. The reason for donating is that all newly-explored places would appear in the application for everyone who has the app. The second idea is to have statistics that would provide useful information to be used by developers aimed at keeping users engaged in the process of space traveling. What part of space is the most popular and which is less? By answering these questions, the application can be improved to attract more users.

There are marks on different planets while traveling in space. The user can land on any of them to collect points and explore the environment.
-04 -05
After registering, the user cam activate the virtual reality mode by flipping his or her mobile device and placing it in the VR headset.
After navigating on any of the marks the icon would appear with the general information about the planet.
One of the features is a geocaching. Geocaching is a real-space hunting game. Participants navigate to a specific set of coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache hidden at that location. By collecting the points user can exchange them for a ticket on the Campus Tours.

While exploring, the user can enjoy random space events such as supernovas.
Flying around space, the user can land on different planets and enjoy its landscapes. There are different events that happen randomly while space traveling. It can range anywhere from supernovas, sunrises, or a comet. Once a user has landed on a planet, the basic information about the planet appears.
The user can meet other participants while space exploring and chat with them. There would be many people from different countries. With the chat system, the user can share his or her findings and meet new friends.

The idea behind creating a camping tour for the second deliverable is to make an interesting and friendly environment for participants. The building itself is placed far from the city for a clear starry sky and has a clear glass roof to enjoy the panoramic view. It is equipped with professional equipment to observe space. There are astronauts and scientist speakers. Guests can make new friends all sharing a similar interest.

The building has two floors. There is a terrace and hall on the second floor and a registration desk on the first.

// PROJ //PROJECT_02 ECT 02 Project Title: Timeline Year: 2015 Project Description: The way composition and graphic design captures motion leverages the impact of visual language. Universal design principles are applied to abstract and conceptual ideas to communicate and convey a powerful message to viewers on a wide scale. When working with any kind of product, this sort of visual fluency is integral and essential to the success of any kind of graphic design work. Concept Statement: In this project, two boxers spar while their significant others watch. The product is associated with the enjoyment and the flux of emotions that would inevitably be present in such a situation—showing that the product is at the epicenter of something exciting, and a compliment no matter what kind of emotions you are experiencing. BOXERSKAYA IMPORTED RUSSIAN VODKA
This assignment focuses on four things: storytelling, information design, artifact creation and vernacular. For this assignment, I have selected an event that could otherwise be described in typical time-base measurements (hours, minutes, seconds). It has a beginning and an end.

// PROJ ECT //PROJECT_03 03 Project Title: Parallel Universe Year: 2016 Project Description: Focusing on the idea of a parallel universe, the imagination is free to wander. Thus, in order to reach such a magnum opus of wanderlust that pushes and expands the viewers psyche, proper visual and environmental graphic design elements are combined in such a way that augments the viewer’s experience. Concept Statement: From light to darkness, this book uses four segments as explorations of our world through different perspectives, and thus, creating the image of a parallel universe. These explorations are parlayed into sentiments on philosophy and life – which can be hard to apply to one’s life, but easier to understand and accept when looking through the lens of another world. The second exploration goes deeper, it goes into the shadows to search for and find what has been hidden from the eyes. For that section I took pictures and created characters out of the shapes on them by printing and drawing on top of them, using white permanent marker and a black liner.

The fourth exploration is to make photographs I took as close to illustrations as possible in terms of abstraction. To achieve this I drew illustrations on top of photos by using a tablet, which is why that section is called Digital Skull.

// PROJ //PROJECT_04 ECT 04 Project Title: Soul Ride Year: 2015 Project Description: For the project “Soul Ride”, the focus was to create a series of graphic design elements that contained a singular flow for a magazine publication. This can be seen in the way that the text seamlessly interacts with objects within photographs, the way that certain elements of graphic design are augmented to show depth and dimension, and the way text is oriented to show a sense of development and progression akin to the creation and engineering process behind the motorcycles therein. Concept Statement: Featuring customized motorcycles from all over the world, the focus of “Soul Ride” is to showcase the crucible of creation, and portray elements of hard-earned, handmade craftsmanship. Using graphic design elements that reflect a clean layout, establish a dynamic rhythm, and evoke compositional settings that match the creation of motorcycles, the project is able to appeal to the message of the magazine, and appeal to the eye of the viewer. Project Title: CSR Report Year: 2016 Project Description: Typography is one of the classic cornerstones of graphic design. Companies and brands of all sizes utilize typography to showcase their style. With what would otherwise be a rather drab report of factual analytics, employment metrics and company values, this presentation uses typography to give life and dimension to the identity of the client. Concept Statement: Being encouraged to challenge the approach to basic principles and explore new innovative ways to communicate with text and image. Creating the proper solution to a problem, exploring possible options and choosing the strongest directions from the process work. Categories: Visual Systems, Type Composition, Print.
