Airport Advertising This project is the first time DHET has ventured into outdoor advertising. Airport outdoor billboards and internal airport digital pods will run for a 6 month period.
DHET Folder This generic folder has been designed for consideration and use across all DHET branches to create a unique image and unite all branches in a cost-effective manner.
PowerPoint Template A fresh approach to PowerPoint templates has been introduced to allow for a more professional presentation for DHET staff. Other examples have been used for project presentations and could also be considered for adoption.
ABOUT THIS
project
Revitalised DHET Website The revitalisation of the website includes a new approach to the Home Page with daily updating features. The secondary pages have a new design and the media room will feature information for journalists.
DHET News E-bulletin The e-bulletin comes out every 4-6 weeks and is currently hosted on a Wordpress site linked to the DHET website. Other urgent news such as ministerial statements are posted onto the DHET news site when appropriate, in between issues. The target audience for the e-bulletin is external and it is emailed via Mailchimp to specific databases.

Writing Workshop
The use of vibrant banners draws attention to themes and highlights. A template for the website has been designed for the in-house graphic designer in future use.
A professional writing workshop was held for DHET Communications Staff. A follow-up session will be arranged in November.
Infographics The use of infographics illustrates a modern method of communicating complex concepts and figures.
Media Analysis Monthly Report DHET Internal Newsletter The existing in-house internal newsletter will be laid out in a newly-designed, professional template from August onwards.
A monthly report on the DHET media analysis is distributed to senior management. This tool gives a clear indication of this issues, tone and reach of DHET’s media presence. It also assists in identifying gaps and opportunities.
angela church PROJECT LEADER
Our vision is of a South Africa in which we have a differentiated and fully-inclusive post-school system that allows South Africans to access relevant post-school education and training, in order to fulfil the economic and social goals of participation in an inclusive economy and society. It is the mission of the Department of Higher Education and Training to develop capable, well-educated and skilled citizens who are able to compete in a sustainable, diversified and knowledge-intensive international economy, which meets the development goals of our country.
The Department will undertake this mission by reducing the skills bottlenecks, especially in priority and scarce skills areas, improving low participation rates in the post-school system, correcting distributions in the shape, size and distribution of access to post-school education and training and improving the quality and efficiency in the system, its subsystems and institutions.

Welcome Message from the Director-General of DHET, Mr GF Qonde
Minister outlines focus for 2015/16 Synopsis of the Budget Vote Speech of the Minister of Higher Education and Training, Dr Blade Nzimande, MP, presented to Parliament on 13 May, 2015 The agenda for the transformation of our education system was shaped by decades of struggles, including the struggle of people’s education for people’s power. This agenda was translated into government policies by the ANC government as from 1994. On this 60th Anniversary of the Freedom Charter we can say that much has been done to open the doors of learning and culture. For example, black and women students are now in the majority in our universities, and NSFAS has supported more than 1,5 million poor students ... READ MORE

writing skills workshop THEO COGGIN - COURSE PRESENTER Theo Coggin devised the course on which this two-day course is based as a response to the limited handson training provided by universities and other institutions. Many of their students are awarded degrees and other qualifications and entered the workplace under-prepared for the hard grind of the corporate, public sector and NGO sector, and the need to provide accurate, good copy in the face of demanding deadlines in a world in which swift and accurate communication is a prerequisite.
WRITING WORKSHOP 11-12 AUGUST 2015
Many contemporary corporate and other communication practitioners have benefited from his expertise and intense method of training. Theo started his career as a radio and newspaper journalist, specialising in the late 1970s and 1980s in publications that were involved in working with alternative institutions to bring about change in South Africa. In the early 1990s he moved into the corporate world, was head of public affairs at the old Perm, and then founded and developed the corporate communication initiatives in the Nedcor (now Nedbank) Group of companies. He has edited a number of works, including Censorship, a collection of studies on this practice in apartheid South Africa, and Stone, Steel, Sjambok by Dr Mmutlunyane Stanley Mogoba.
