BUSINESS BACKGROUND
Ricardo Siljeur and Giles Bonnet established the Western Cape Sport & Education Institute in 2017. In 2021 the founders developed the Active Life Programme and the innovative design of the Physical Performance Track (PPT). The functionality of the PPT is a combination of the skills set and experience of both the founders of the Western Cape Sport and Education Institute.
THE ACTIVE LIFE PROGRAM BENEFITTING SCHOOLS, COMMUNITIES, CLUBS, ATHLETES & SPORTS TEAMS The Active Life Programme was developed based on 14 years of research into the health status of all South Africans. The Active Life Programme is a carded system that is linked to the The Physical Performance Track. Members of the the active life programme generate points for being active and redeem these points at retail or outlet stores. The more you move, the more you score.
OUR VISION
Our vision is to build 50 Physical Performance Tracks across the Western Cape over the next 10 years in communities and/or schools. Our aim is to provide the Active life Programme to all school children, surrounding communities, sports clubs and athletes, enabling them to acquire positive habits and functional movement capabilities providing outdoor orientated multi-sport activities through the design and functionality of the Physical Performance Track. To achieve our vision we have had to look at the current status of Life Orientation programs and physical activity of school children & refocus this through the design of the PPT.

THE PRODUCT
The emergence of the PPT was to full a void that is no longer present at many schools and provide the school children with functional movement skills within a varied and multi-sport environment, where each child can progress at their speed and capacity. Children need to be active two hours per day as a minimum, at many schools large proportion of the school children and not reaching this minus target. The PPT not only solves this health requirement but also stimulates the children in a fun centered way providing challenges that often are not perceived as physical exercise but rather games and fun. The innovative design and methodology around the activities combine to provide a scientific base which will allow the school children to advance themselves according to their capacities. The PPT through the Active Life program repositions physical activity as a fundamental right which contributes to a healthy lifestyle.

THE BUSINESS MODEL
Partners | Sport Development & Performance Education & Training | Community Health
PARTNERS
Our business model is lined to the University and Tertiary institutions whom have committed to an allocation of interns whom are completing their degrees and require to allocate specific hours to education and training. This area of our business opens up the opportunity for employment because every station will need not just a qualified instructor to facilitate training but also can accommodate other learners in assistant roles who receive mentorship, training, and would be eligible for certification.
SPORT DEVELOPMENT AND PERFORMANCE
Our active life programme aims to track the physical activity of the members enrolled in the programme. The PPT is functionally designed to improve the functional movement skills, strength, power, agility, speed and endurance of the human being. There are 10 stations that can accommodate up to 10 – 30 individuals at each station. At anyone time we could accommodate 300 school children on the PPT offering multi-disciplined, scientifically accurate human movement sequences.
