▶ Guided Segway Tour – Glide down the coastline and through historic Manitowoc. Get a close-up view of a WWII submarine and the S.S. Badger dock. ▶ Jazz In The Park – Enjoy an evening of Jazz with Two Rivers High School, Lincoln High School, Roncalli High School, Washington Jr High, Wilson Jr High and LB Clarke Middle School from 6 to 7:30 p.m. In case of inclement weather, Central Park events will be moved inside the J.E. Hamilton Community House, 1520 –17th Street.

▶ Spring Migration Bird Walks – A weekly bird hike during the peak of the spring migration. Meet at the Nature Center and bring your binoculars. Please note, the terrain may be muddy, slippery and there are several steep stairs. All walks are weather dependent and sponsored by Next Era Point Beach Nuclear Plant. It will be held from 8:15 to 9:30 a.m.

▶ Civil War Days – Although it has been over 150 years since our country has fought in the Civil War, the diaries, stories, and lessons still remain. Pinecrest Village is transformed into a Civil War encampment where visitors can meet famous figures of the past and experience firsthand a turbulent time period in our nation’s history. Reenactors stage a battle complete with raging cannons and marching infantry. Learn how the nation changed through the insights of local people who made a difference in history. The family-friendly event features food, fun and shopping on “Sutler’s Row” for traditional Civil War-era reproduction products. Battle reenactment at 2 p.m. (Saturday and Sunday). Admission $10 adults, $7 ages 5 to 17. MCHS members receive free admission. The festivities will be held from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

▶ Alpaca Odyssey – Annual celebration of new life at LondonDairy Alpaca Ranch from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Alpaca Odyssey is a free family-friendly event highlighting the birth(s) of the new babies (crias) and all things alpaca! In lieu of an admission fee, we request you donate a non-perishable food item for our local food pantry. This event also benefits other local charities such as the 4-H Alpaca Project, Girl Scouts, 4-H, FFA, Wildlife of Wisconsin and more. Walk the grounds, take photos, and pet and feed the alpacas. Vendors, craftspeople and artisans will be on hand to share their alpaca fleece creations. Concessions available. ▶ 4th Annual Lakeshore Invitational Men’s Baseball Tournament – The 4th Annual Lakeshore Invitational Baseball Tournament will feature six adult men’s baseball teams from around Wisconsin. The tournament is broken into two pools of three teams with each pool played at a different location. The winners of each pool will play for the championship. Pool games will be played simultaneously at Branch Recreation Park in Branch and Municipal Baseball Field in Manitowoc at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. The championship game starts at 6 p.m. at Municipal Field. ▶ Wild Seasons – Join award-winning nature author and radio host, Rob Zimmer, for a breathtaking look at some of the lesser-known, native wildflowers of our area from 1 to 3:30 p.m. After the indoor program, join Rob for an intimate Wildflower Hike in search of treasured late spring/early summer blooms. Rob will also have a book signing featuring copies of his books on the native plants of Wisconsin. Registration required by Friday, June 1. Held at the Woodland Dunes Nature Center. Sponsored by Next Era Point Beach.

▶ Spring Planting – Assist Mrs. Kunze as she plants her garden for the season, filled with heirloom varieties from 11 a.m. until noon. Tools provided, weather dependent. Held at the Manitowoc County Historical Society. Call 920-684-4445.

▶ Manitowoc’s Garden Faire Extraordinaire – Celebrating the outdoors and featuring live music, annuals, perennials, herbs, shrubs, yard and garden art, fine crafts, statuary, furniture and food. Free parking. 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

▶ Patriotic Concert In Central Park: Two Rivers Community Band – Celebrating Flag Day from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Parking available on 17th Street, 18th Street, Washington St. and the Senior Center parking lot. Two Rivers Main Street will be hosting the following on Thursday nights: 4-7 p.m. farmers market, 4-7 p.m. food vendors and 4-8 p.m. beer tent. In case of inclement weather, Central Park events will be moved inside the J.E. Hamilton Community House, 1520 –17th Street. ▶ Beginning Blacksmithing Class – Designed to give someone with little or no metal working skills as a hands-on, fun experience. Explore the basics of forge work in a blacksmith shop while making a decorative iron project to take home. Topics will include safety, tools and equipment, and beginning techniques for shaping metal. Small class size guarantees lots of one-on-one instruction and lots of time at the forge! Dress for working in a shop and for the weather. Bring eye protection and a water bottle. Fee: $25 for MCHS members, $30 non-members. Registration required. Ages 16 and older. Held from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Manitowoc County Historical Society. Call 920-684-4445.

▶ Family Blacksmithing Workshop – This class will allow a

parent/grandparent to work with a child as they learn historic blacksmithing techniques in a historic setting. Everyone will get to make several small, hands-on projects while learning about proper safety in a workshop environment. Dress for working in a shop. Bring eye protection and a water bottle. Fee: $35 for MCHS members pair. $50 for non-members pair. A pair is defined as one adult and one child (age 7 to 17). Registration required. Held from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Manitowoc County Historical Society. Call 920-684-4445.

▶ Cherney Maribel Caves, New Hope Cave Public Cave Tours – Free public tours led by experienced guides at Cherney Maribel Caves County Park. In addition, cave tours have now been added for the day in the Tartarus Cave System. Cherney Maribel Caves County Park is just off of I-43 half way between Manitowoc and Green Bay. ▶ Children’s Summer Golf Classes – CNC Links will be hosting children’s golf classes again this summer! Classes start June 18 and go every Monday and Wednesday from 8 until 8:45 for four weeks. Your child will be given instruction on grip, swing, chipping and putting! The class is just $45. Call the Manitowoc Recreation Department at 920-686-3060 to register!

Held from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. ▶ Pinecrest Village Tram Tour – Guided tour spans more than 150 years of history and 60 acres in approximately 90 minutes. The tour will stop at each building in our village. Reservations must be made at least two days in advance (by Friday before the Sunday tour date). Call 920-684-4445 to register.
