Peggy Wettstein and Julie Stoffel provided music. The bride’s parents are Leonard and Mary Englert of Nekoosa. Parents of the groom are Kenneth and Cheryl Laduron of Wisconsin Rapids. Jennifer Englert was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Danielle Zolnik, Margo Eaton, Elizabeth Rindahl and Leah Bushman. Brooke Nigl was personal attendant. Don Voit was best man. Groomsmen were Eric Andersen, Ryan Thibodeau, Travis Wojtowicz and Matt Mertely. Maddie and McKenzie Callahan were flower girls, and Michael Fote was ring bearer. Roxie Callahan and Lori Fote were readers. Russ Callahan and Steve Laduron served as ushers. The couple took their wedding trip to Jamaica. The bride earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and is a first-grade teacher for the Medford Area Public School District. The groom earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from UW-La Crosse and is an analyst for Menards. They reside in Abbotsford.

Amanda Merdan and Ryan Whipple were married on May 22, 2010, at Grace Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. The Rev. Kent Raddatz performed the ceremony. The bride’s parents are Richard and Mary Merdan of Wisconsin Rapids. Parents of the groom are Toby and Linda Whipple of Muskego. Alicia Merdan and Emily Meier were maids of honor. Bridesmaids were Christina Langrehr, Savannah Klug, Brianna Haenke and Lindsey Plantenberg. Josh Strzelecki and Damian Nevers were best men. Groomsmen were Jason Kessler, Andrew Ceballos, Timothy Semrad and Brody Plantenberg. Aubrey Langrehr was flower girl, and Nolan Langrehr was ringbearer. Thomas Carr, Matthew Skalski and Luke Seielstad served as ushers. The bride earned a master’s degree in occupational therapy and is employed by ProStep Rehab at Menomonee Falls Health Care Center. The groom earned a bachelor’s degree in communications/broadcasting and psychology and is employed by Home Depot. They reside in Menomonee Falls.
Andrea Hansen and Cyrus Maltman were married Aug. 14, 2010, in the Assembly Room at the State Capitol in Madison. The Rev. Michelle Hall officiated the ceremony. The bride’s attendants were Katie Hansen and Tiffany LaPointe. The groom’s attendants were Ben Werner and Tyler McDougal. Kari Manning was a reader. A reception followed at The Madison Club. Parents of the bride are Michael and Brenda Hansen of Wisconsin Rapids. The groom’s mother is Elizabeth Maltman of Fish Creek. The bride, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, is employed by the Sun Prairie School District. The groom is a graduate of Madison Area Technical College and the UW-Madison Paramedic Program. He is employed by Ryan Brothers Ambulance Service. They reside in Sun Prairie.

Melissa Kouba of Stevens Point and Joshua Saeland of Nashville are engaged to be married. She is the daughter of Don and Cindy Kouba of Wisconsin Rapids. His parents are Monty and Carol Saeland of International Falls, Minn. Kouba, a 2003 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, is employed by Sentry Insurance. Patrick Burkhart and St. Peter’s Schola of Stevens Point and Ann Bulcher provided music. The bride’s parents are Kathy and Rich Hamus of Junction City. Parents of the groom are Mary and Virgil Bulcher of Necedah. Krista Pavelec was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Melissa Riese, Heather Van Hoof, Ann Bulcher, Mary Ann Bulcher, Nora Bulcher and Therese Olsen. Patty Weinfurter and Lisa Dorshorst were personal attendants. Paul Bulcher was best man. Groomsmen were Derek Pavelec, William Van Hoof, John Bulcher, Carl Van Hoof, Peter Bulcher and Michael Olsen. Alyssa Pavelec and Angela Olsen were flower girls, and Michael Olsen was ringbearer. A reception and dinner were held at Travelers Inn & Convention Center in New Lisbon. The couple took a wedding trip to Door County. The bride is a 1998 graduate of Assumption High School and a 2002 graduate of St. Mary’s University in Winona, Minn., with a degree in elementary education. She is employed at Wisconsin Dairy State Cheese in Rudolph, and is a substitute teacher. The groom is a 1998 graduate of Queen of the Holy Rosary High School in Necedah and received a degree in liberal arts from Thomas Aquinas College in Santa Paula, Calif. He is employed by Wood Trust Bank in Wisconsin Rapids. They reside in Wisconsin Rapids.

The bride-to-be is employed as a certified occupational therapy assistant with Therapies Plus in Wisconsin Rapids. Her fiance is employed by Mark Toyota of Plover. A May 21, 2011, wedding is planned.
Amanda Marach and Matthew Walloch, both of Wisconsin Rapids, are engaged to be married. She is the daughter of Bruce and Doris Marach of Wisconsin Rapids. His parents are Kathy Walloch of Wisconsin Rapids and the late Robert Walloch Sr. The bride-to-be, a 2007 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, is a registered nurse at Ministry Saint Michael’s Hospital in Stevens Point. Her fiance is employed by Morning Mail Service. An Oct. 8, 2011, wedding is planned.

Bridesmaids were Kristi Duerr, Lisa Strey, Shianne Rasmussen, Rebecca Verhulst, Amy Salo, Kelly Gronau, Christina Klieforth, and Jolene Schiller; and the flower girl was Trinity Cournoyer. Groomsmen were Brad Wilke, Dan Strey Jr., Dan Rowley, Jason Verhulst, Shawn Verhulst, Adam Verhulst, Josh Sojka, and Scott Sojka; and the ring bearer was Kaden Verhulst.
Pamela is the daughter of Don and Jayne Sojka of Pittsville, WI. Michael is the son of Arvin and Karen Verhulst of Loyal, WI. A dinner and reception were held at the Holiday Inn and Conference Center in Marshfield. The couple spent their honeymoon in Jamaica. Pamela earned her B.S. in Horticulture and is a cranberry consultant in central Wisconsin. She is self-employed and works for Lady Bug IPM, LLC. Michael has his B.S. in Electrical Engineering and is currently employed by New Page. The couple will reside in Wisconsin Rapids.

Bridesmaids were Sheri Omernik, Lisa Scheunemann, Jacky LaChapelle and Carolynn Martin. Best men were Michael Goodness Jr. and Matthew Goodness. Groomsmen were David Omernik, John Omernik, Matt Orheim and Bernard Quaschnick. Ushers were Chad Bauman, and David Lukaszewski (in memoriam). Musicians at the ceremony were Karen Banek, Molly Thomas, Michele and Dennis Eskritt, Tamara Schreiner, Danielle Henker, Patrick Goodness, Michael Goodness Sr. and Mary Wadzinski. A reception was held at The Ridges in Wisconsin Rapids. Sarah graduated from Madison Area Technical College, and is employed as a dental assistant at Zietz Family Dental. Jonathan is a UW-La Crosse graduate, and is a physical education and health teacher at New Glarus High School. The couple honeymooned in St. Lucia. They make their home in Madison. WI-5001210664

The bride-to-be is a 1999 graduate of Greenville College with a bachelor’s degree in education and a 2006 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse with a master’s degree in education. She is employed as an elementary teacher for the Tri-County Area School District. Her fiance is a 1999 graduate of Marquette University with a bachelor’s degree in finance and a 2002 graduate of Marquette University with a master’s degree in business administration. He is employed as the director of finance and accounting for RoomPro Technologies/Projection Guys. A June 11, 2011, wedding is planned.

Clifford and Irene (Saunders) Lewis
celebrated their 70th anniversary on August 22, 2010. The couple started the day by renewing their vows at Sacred Heart Church in Nekoosa. They later received family and friends at a reception and dinner in their honor. Clifford and Irene were married August 22, 1940 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Children of the couple are Sharon (Don) Iverson, Terry (Bonnie) Lewis, Brenda Jackson, Dean Lewis and Sherri Galles-Teske. They have several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
40th Wedding Anniversary
John and Lori (Ward) Svoboda of Wisconsin Rapids, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with a family dinner on October 23rd at Conley’s Supper Club in Kellner.
Clifford was employed at Nepco-Georgia Pacific for 43 years and retired in December of 1980. He has enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Alison Cordie and Jeremy Thomas are engaged to be married. She is the daughter of Tom and Sandy Cordie of Sartell, Minn. His parents are Steve and Casey Thomas of Wisconsin Rapids. Cordie is a 2001 graduate of Sartell High School; a 2005 graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College with a degree in geology, environmental science and geography; and a 2009 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with a master’s degree in natural resources. She is a natural resources educator for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources at Crex Meadows Wildlife Center in Grantsburg. Thomas is a 1993 graduate of Lincoln High School. He is a cook and baker, and has cooked throughout the country at resorts and national parks. A Nov. 20, 2010, wedding is planned.
