SCULPTURES ENHANCE GARDEN OF THE GODS Welcoming visitors to Garden of the Gods Resort, Club and STRATA Integrated Wellness Spa from Mesa Road is Joie de Vivre (Joy of Life), the first of four commissioned sculptures by Jodie Bliss, Artist Metalsmith extraordinaire of Bliss Studio and Gallery in Monument. Three additional Bliss sculptures, With the Tides, The Three Graces and Sunrise were installed at the same time as Joie de Vivre and grace the property throughout.
Joie de Vivre represents balance, navigating a road that is sometimes structured and sometimes spontaneous. The sphere is balanced by supportive design and, looking closely, one can see the abstract representation of Vermillion, a “V.” Standing tall with head held high Learning balance as the wind blows Embracing the vibrance of purpose, we fly the Joy of Life is in the flow.
With the Tides is located at the entrance to the Recreation Center Pool. Once amply flowing now slowed to a dribble, Droplets gather and emerge as an ocean. The tides will rise and dwindle away, So that they might rise again one day.
The Three Graces is located at the entrance to the Gateway Building. Beauty whirls, free as a bird. Charm smiles and take her hand. Grace Joins them, bringing elegance. Together they dance as one.
Sunrise is located near the Hill Memorial Fountain just to the north of The Rocks Lounge. Dawn breathes life into the hushed horizon Fire erupts with the says first glow A burst of change in a wink of time Sunrise unfolds over the Garden
