Warm weather, longer days, blue skies, bright sunshine and all that summer brings us is meant for outdoor playtime. But, be sure that you are adequately protected from the sun and our environment. Sun exposure is the number one offender to skin aging and melanoma. And is something that we can easily address. Antioxidants, particularly a topical vitamin C serum, reinforce your skin’s natural protection from UV, IR-A and HEV light, pollution, and harsh weather conditions. Daily use of a topical antioxidant serum will neutralize the free radical damage caused by UV and environmental aggressors. Using a full spectrum mineral-based sunscreen will give you a physical block from UV light and the damage that it can cause. The key, however, is to remember to reapply! That’s where most of us fall short. We slather up before heading out but forget that most sunscreens/blocks break down over time and are no longer protecting our skin. Be sure to read the instructions on the packaging. Most sunscreens/ blocks will only last 2-4 hours.
