PASTORAL SERVICES

The Shops at Garden Spot Village offer a unique opportunity for residents and the greater New Holland community. Our distinctive shops, with their varied offerings, draw shoppers from across the county and add value for residents and team members.

Recently, The Shops at Garden Spot Village have started to collaborate in order to host special shopping events. For example, all three shops hosted the Midnight in London event in mid-February, which included live music, dancing and shopping. Cross-promotions between the stores helps to build name recognition and traffic everywhere.

THE ARTISANS CORNER: Discover watercolor paintings, contemporary wall décor, artistic quilts and handcrafted wood items, all made by talented artisans who live at Garden Spot Village. Featuring a curated collection of art from more than 25 talented artisans, The Artisans Corner offers a delightful gift-giving solution for anyone on your list. The inventory changes frequently and often features one-of-a-kind art. On the first Friday, monthly, artisans offer pop-up demonstrations in front of the shop.

LINDEN: Linden offers the latest trends with distinctive apparel, jewelry, and unique merchandise, as well as greeting cards, local foods, frozen treats and grocery essentials. You’ll discover a wide selection of quality gifts appropriate for any occasion at a variety of price points. New merchandise monthly, be sure to stop in often! Proceeds from Linden benefit the Benevolent Care Fund at Garden Spot Village.

SHARE & CARE: With an outdoor entrance accessible from parking lots #1 and #5, Share & Care Thrift Store offers an ever-evolving collection of lightly-used furniture, housewares, jewelry and home decor. Regular sales offer discounts on a rotating list of categories. Volunteer staff help shoppers find unique, well-priced treasures! Proceeds from Share & Care benefit the Benevolent Care Fund at Garden Spot Village.

WAYS TO CELEBRATE EARTH DAY WELLNESS: SATURDAY, APRIL 22

Although Earth Day lands on a weekend this year, there’s no reason not to celebrate it all work-week long! Earth Day is an excellent time to learn about how environmental factors affect health and wellness.

• Start a garden: A fun way to get outside and a great source of physical activity!

• Go for a walk: Going outside for a walk once a day is an excellent way to celebrate nature and get you moving. Just 10 minutes in nature can help relieve some stress and improve moods.

• Add plants: Plants are more than just beautiful décor! Indoor plants can reduce stress, anxiety, and fatigue. Research has found that indoor plants also reduce 87% of indoor air pollutants within 24 hours. Adding plants throughout your home will help promote a healthy environment while also boosting wellness.

• Go Green: Recycle more, minimize plastic usage, and use less water. While it might not seem like Earth Day directly correlates to wellness, it’s important to understand how environmental factors can impact a healthy and happy lifestyle. Instead of skipping out on Earth Day this year, celebrate the importance of a healthy outdoor and indoor environment in order to inspire positive changes in your habits.

It’s Humor Month: Start your day with a smile & visit Wellness for a joke of the day!
